Unreal!!!! What a dream to be at a nice little car show, and have one holy grail racer after another pull up like that. Each one was music to my ears. WOW, those were all the ultimates in their own right. Some historic muscle there man.
Wow, just incredible! Really impressive having all those amazing drag racer Mopars there at once! My only regret for this video was that I wasn't filming there with you haha! Great footage!
What I want to know most is, what is it that makes the Landy Challenger that shows at the 2 min mark, sound that much deeper and more badass???? Bigger cube engine, or???? They all sound over the top sweet, but that Landy Challenger just knocks the ball outta the park on my mechanical music meter, wow.........
Stunning video absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing this. What an incredible sight to see the masters of drags drive in and then drive on the street out!
Even as a Blue Blood I have to admit this is the racing team in drag racing to beat. These guys are legends. What an entrance! Love the old school body styles.
I just saw this video (8 1/2 years after it was posted). That would have been a nice surprise to see a nice group of pro stocks idling into the show. It looks like Herb McCandless himself in the red Sox and Martin shirt. (See the photo at 6:04 as well as a few quick looks in the video segments.)
Yes, you are absolutely correct! That is Herb McCandless, also thought I would let you know that man in the striped shirt on the right of McCandless, is none other than Buddy Martin! Ronnie Sox's teammate! Sorry for the late reply I saw this video about six years ago and I just came back too, just four years later haha!
@@CudaRebelsAutoModeling426 Good catch on Buddy Martin. Have you watched the series of videos (on YT) from McCandless Antique Auto? There's an intro and 4 videos about "The Life of Mr. 4-Speed." They're well done.
Yeah iv seen all 4 videos, such a wonderful series. Herb sounds like a cool kind of guy to be around, and he has so much knowledge on drag racing. I was still very young when I saw this video for the first time 6 years ago now being in my 20s I always wish i was around in the 60s and 70s, it must have been such a fun time to be alive.
@@CudaRebelsAutoModeling426 Well, I'm 75 and can tell you the 60s and 70s were great in many ways. (No, I was not a drug user.) My first new car was a 1968 SS396 Chevelle. I spent a month or so during the summer of '69 in the Los Angeles area going to the drag races at Orange County Int'l Raceway, Lions Drag Strip and Irwindale Raceway. The NHRA didn't have all the national events like they do now, so there were plenty of big shows, especially at OCIR with a 32 car nitro funny car field and cars that were recognizable rather than all jelly beans. The dragsters were all front engine at that time. I guess I'd better not get too carried away. We'll see if a comment can be this long.
@@wideslammer Wow that's incredible! The 1968 Chevelle is definitely one of my favorite classics, coming from a Mopar guy you definitely have great taste! I'm sure you had a lot of fun with her, In the summer of 2015 when I was 17 I had the opportunity to buy a rust free 1973 Plymouth duster 340 in sublime (not original paint) for 5 grand, however I was saving for college at the time so I didn't want to chance it now and I can't find one for HALF the price being 1973 was the final year for the duster to have a 340, still kicking myself for not getting it. Haha, just noticed now I'm ranting a little bit myself.
Me and my brother were talking about our room back when we had posters of all of the GREATS AND REGULAR CARS ALL OVER THE WALLS AND DOOR OF OUR ROOM. those were when CARS WERE CARS. (I'm not saying that there aren't any good cars out there now. Drag racing is not like it was back then, l don't care what anyone says.
How wicked!!!
Suddenly it's 1970 ! And I'm 25 again!
"AMERICAN MUSCLE" - BORN TO GO STRAIGHT & GET THERE YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These cars are when the drags were a real kick to go to. You can't beat the days past.
That really breaks up a day of looking at just another Camaro or just another Mustang.
💥 Hemi 🇺🇸 Thunder 💥

My eyes teared up when I watched this. That rumble........
All you needed was a Don Carlton Mopar Missle and the Butch Leal California Flash and you would really have a show.
