As you figured out. Every time he kills a demon he gets back the organs and parts of his body that his Father sacrificed. Best part was when Dororo asked "Are you Human?". He Blinks, kind of answering his question. :)

I did not get the skin-returning-to-normal part.. If I did not watch their reaction I would not have thought about the chance of being related to the demon being killed.. I hope they explain it more later..
Osama Tezuku is really the God of Manga. kind of referred to as the walt disney of Japan. He literally wrote 700+ manga's in his lifetime. Dororo is really gonna be a dark horse anime for this season. Really a good old school classic with good fight scenes, background music and story. The OP is really good too. :D
He's the one who invented tropes and techniques in manga drawing. From the big eyes, the implementation of cinematic shots onto manga panels, and he was the one to pioneer the start of the manga industry when he created his production company.

I'm guessing the reason Hyakkimaru barely managed to survive the curse of the 12 demons was because of the blessing of the goddess/guardian diety his mother prayed to as she gave birth to him; which "sacrificed" itself in his stead. What's pretty cool about this is it reminds me of the premise of the game Shadow of the Collosus; except instead of the hero becoming a demon with each monster he destroys, the hero of Dororo becomes more human with each demon. Add in the possibility that the father will in all likelihood go to hell if his son succeeds, therefore igniting a battle between the two, this is DEFINITELY gonna be a good series.

I already know the story of this but not through manga but thanks to a PS2 game called "Blood Will Tell". It is Osamu Tezuka's Dororo. You guys can experience his adventure by playing that game. He is missing 48 Parts so he has to kill 48 Demons, and the guy who have him prosthetics gave him his name and it is Hyakkimaru.
@@CraigOrangeSoda agree, he get around 24 parts when kill final boss. Final boss (real one) in game are such a pain in ass (frenzy combo 777 or fight again). Also speculation about 48th part^^

The protag almost seems like a feudal era version of a cyborg. Which was a common theme in tezukas stories. Robots and cyborgs. Of course he handled a lot of different subject matter besides those things as well.

I loved Dororo and you're review of it was very similar to mine. I'm glad so many people seem to be immediately ranking this high on the anime list as I agree with Tofu that this one will end up being number 1 as time goes on.
The classic mangas don't shy away from dark themes. I have read quite a number of mangas from 60s and some manga stories are thought-provoking, bizarre and depressing but the stories are surprisingly good and ahead of their time!

There's no way anything is beating off Slime this year.Never thought I'd still have this much fun from an Isekai ever again.From the very 1st episode I was sucked in before I even knew it and it's always a pain in the ass to wait a WHOLE WEEK(forgot that feeling a long time ago).It honestly reignited my interest to anime.

The head being torn from the statue symbolizes budda saving the newborn from certain death. The last demon had to take his head, but budda, like, tricked him into taking the statues head instead. I think it sais a lot about Osamu Tezuka's beliefs and religious ess.
Since the day Tofu started watching anime i think this is going to be her best month for anime as it contains Rezero, Dororo, the promised neverland, slime and the rising of the shield hero (as for now i guess her top 3 anime ever would be ReZero because of it's story line and twists , Dororo and Made in abyss)
You should react to Karakuri Circus. It is really good like really good. Give the first 4 episodes a chance and you will not regret it. It is honor approved.

We stopped doing fma while we were doing jojo's, food wars, fma, and haikyu. Back then when we were doing all 4 different animes, we were still new into doing reaction so doing so many became overwhelming for us. So instead, we decided to just stick with one, which is food wars and we haven't looked back since. BUT fma is something we will 100% finish on our channel.
