I lived in California and I was around so many other cultures. I realized family living together is special. Don’t allow anyone to make you feel live with your parents is a bad thing. Honestly, many people wish they had parents to live with.

Right..,the idea of being super independent and acting as if you don't need anyone is mostly an American thing. Living at home is not the worst idea in the world. As long as you are contributing and showing each other respect, then it's fine.

    • @beautyandpositivity1343

Many peoples from various (non-American/individualistic) cultures live with family. Often times, that reality only changes when one gets married.
There’s nothing to prove to anyone. And you’re being pretty gracious by explaining your choice. The truth is: if you’ve got the support & inclination, you could/should stay with your parents for as long as you like. Viewers should view & change the channel as their viewing needs dictate 🤦🏽‍♀️ Enjoy your parents, YOUR HOME with them, and this new season of your life 💝🥂

I moved back home at 33. I don’t care what anyone thinks! We have to all walk our own path. I’d take being at home with my family over struggling. I can save money and finish working on my master’s without worrying about the stress of housing (and food).. my mom cooks! Lol

I moved in with my aunt (next door to my parents) for a year to save money before I purchased my home. Family who supports you is such a blessing. And now I tell my kids that they always have a home with us.
My cousin, her husband and daughter moved in with her mom for a year to save for their home as well. Now they’re able to do the same for their own family.
Our daughter has moved in with my mom for the same reasons. It’s a win win because my mom was alone. My dad has passed away. So they’re together and loving it. My mom is going to miss her a lot when she does move.
It’s a beautiful thing. We should normalize this practice. Not everyone has family to depend on. So if you do, enjoy it❤❤❤

I’m from STL and originally moved to Dallas for almost 8yrs and decided last May I wanted a change so I up and moved to uptown, Chicago.I overall loved the city but my apartment was an overwhelming bad experience. Not knowing the apartment hunting culture well I wasn’t aware of the option to be asked to move out if they don’t want to complete repairs so I moved suddenly and my aunt blessed me with the opportunity to move in with her to save (rent free) to help build myself more financial freedom so that I can be prepared to find something new wherever I decide to go next and for my future. I didn’t realize how much I appreciated being around family. It’s amazing and although a humbling experience I can see the bigger picture overall.

Never ever did I think I would need to move back home and then at 30, I got sick and it made sense to move home. What was only supposed to be 1 year turned into 3 1/2 years and I'm so grateful that I had a home to come back to. Stay as long as you need. Now that I've moved out again, these rent prices are ridiculous. I much rather be spending money on my mortgage than paying somebody else's.

    Hey Paige,
Your parents is so amazing and just such blessing, that right just save money as long as you can keep focus and dwell in God grace. Me and you are kind of following the same direction. After my son graduated from high school and move on. I am a truck driver so I went on the road and I begin understand I could save money by living in my truck and I have been living in truck for 2yrs now and I am able to not only save a great deal of money but able to do the things that I love doing and not worry about none of it. In these times we are living in US I know people are struggling trying to make ends meets due to increase in rent/housing cost and inflation. I know God is moving in the blessings for me and you and others who are focus on him. So stay on God and he will give you the desire of your heart. Be encouraged and unmoved and stay focused on God.

Im 30 and I moved back with my parents too. I felt like I was just throwing away money with how expensive apartments were and I was also working remote plus doing online school. The only reason I moved out was to be close to the city but I can’t remember the last time I went out because of how busy my schedule got. When I told my parents I wanted to move back it was an instant yes and they were so happy because sometimes they needed help around the house and just navigating the world because they are getting older. Our house was large but there was others in addition to my parents living there so it eventually got old. I needed my space because I have always valued my alone space .I believed from my first job that I must give GOD his and pay myself second. I had savings when I moved back but it took me 3 years because I was not favored to live rent free. That was one of the conditions my parents gave me. I still saved a lot because I for went everything else including a vehicle. I moved and never moved back. Your very creative so there is other content outside of moving. My daughter, a fantastic 30-year-old, lives with us( or should I say we live together). She's financially responsible and leads her own life. I'm baffled by the stigma surrounding adult children living at home. There's no glory in the struggle that leads to potential homelessness or food insecurity. It's detrimental to mental health. We need to stop glorifying this struggle. If a person is safe, content, and healthy, and the family is supportive, then others should not judge but respect their living choices. I’m sure your parents sleep well, knowing that you are safe and happy, so ignore all the negative comments to those who have a opinion but have no money to contribute to your cause. I love having my daughter at home after all her being here is all my doing, she didn’t asked to be born lol.. everybody else needs to mind their own business💋

This is my bf and I’s plan Seattle is so expensive with what we’re paying we should be paying a mortgage not a 1 bedroom apt! I’ve been living on my own previous to being with him so I’m excited to start saving finally and have less worries 🙏🙏

My daughter lived with me until she was 30. Shes been out on her own paying those real bills 6 months. I plan to purchase a second home next year. She says she's moving back in with me even if she has to sleep on the couch 😂. She realizes life is expensive

Living with your parents is such a norm in Asian culture. Nothing to be ashamed about at all. It’s such a blessing to have family you get on with. I grew up in the uk but Asian and I hate how western culture is so funny about being with family. It’s nearly like it’s uncool to be with family. Sad really.

Hi, Paige. 😊 It probably doesn't feel like it at this time, but you are WAY ahead of the 8 ball - by way of re-establising your independence and in life. This is not a setback, but just a rest stop as you re-establish some essentials. Maintain the energy and your focus, and you'll exceed your expectations.

I’m going to be here for a while too. Saving and building up . I have a room too that’s with my desk, clothes and gym lol. Funny enough I’m eyeing London after I leave too! My husband and I enjoy our children’s company. There is nothing to be shameful about! Enjoy your parents girl 💝🥰. I’m enjoying my daughter soooooo much! She’s 33 hilarious and a great cook! Hey girl, there is no shame in living at home. I am 28 and am finally moving out with a nice cushion. I could move out and not work for an entire year and my savings would cover my rent, thanks to my parents. God has blessed us with great parents. I recommend saving the amount of money you would pay in rent a month and have 1k emergency savings, max out your 401k, and move when they have those really nice apartment deals. Wishing you the best!

I am 33 years old and live in Hawaii. I never left home but this allowed me to be debt free and accumulate a lot of savings. I currently saved a little more than $300k. It worked out because my Mom doesn’t have a mortgage on the properties my family owns but I do return the favor whenever there is an unexpected expenses since my Mom is not working and is on limited income stream. People say my Mom won’t be here forever but it if I keep it up I should be fine to be financially independent with my savings when that day happens.
