It’s interesting how there are different but really similar ways of doing the preflight good to know what are other things to look for that my pre flight check list doesn’t have!
Don't forget to mention when cleaning the windscreen, always use a scotch brite pad or steel wool and go side to side, get those nice horizontal lines on the surface that hide those pesky annoying powerlines...🤣👍 Just teasing, but it's amazing how many students will just subconsciously grab a towel and wipe side to side causing deadly horizontal lines. The proper procedure is a Super soft cloth gently wiping vertically up down. That way the power lines are never hidden. 👍
Surprised no computer code readers or scan tools diagnostics is not used, we don't even start a racing car motor until we have plugged it into a scan tool before we turn it on every time. Really cool vid good information about all the parts.
Carburetor and clutch? Why not fuel injection and automatic transmission? I like hydraulic torque converters more than rubber belts and pulleys. I'm sure there must be a reason. Probably lower weight and keep it stupid simple for maximum reliability.
The Bendix Fuel Injection for the Lycoming motors add more cost and maintenance and you really do not gain much advantage in a low altitude training helicopter. The belt is hard to beat, easy to inspect and service and is relatively inexpensive. Hydro based systems add weight, cooling, particulate sensors, etc. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.
Why do helicopters have chin windows? There aren't any eyes in my feet and when I put them on the pedals they obstruct my view out the chin windows, so why put them there? I would have told her NEVER touch the muffler unless the engine is cold because it will burn you severely.
Currently a Cabri g2 student and this was exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks for the informative video!
Blimey, that was like a mini service. I worked on Chinooks for three years, we didn't check half of that. Excellent video.
Fantastic. Very informative and surprisingly good camera angles to see everything
Thanks Sancho - that was very informative and comprehensive. More like this please Mischa - we like the longer videos!
Thanks Sancho for my intro flight, it was very intresting, hard, but fun. I hope to see you again for more lessons.
Thank you from a student in Brisbane Australia! Legendary video, it really helps

Indeed great video! Would love to see this same style video for the R66 and even the R44! Thanks Sancho!!
Just a little more involved than with a airplane I see. lol Thanks for the video...very informative and easy to understand.
well done. extremely well explained and enjoyable.
😮 oh man, I used to be a Mechanic in the Army for Chinooks, and that preflight is more exhausting and complicated for such a little helicopter 🚁!
Good Morning! So much thanks for such an informative video, may GOD almighty bless you both and all your companions, bundles of thanks.
Thanks! This is going to help me a lot for my checkride!

Just curious as to why you don't go thru this checklist with a written form to check off.
While checking the Blades and Glass a standard check is to check for cracks and cuts..
Really injoyed this video ....thank you !!!
Black Diamond RC Ranch that’s great, glad you enjoyed.
The student should be the one doing the checks, at the CFI's instruction. Hands off as much as possible.
Reliable technology 🚁💖

Random question, but did the student happen to mention any fixed wing training in Socal? I swear she's a former student of mine.

Most important thing besides instrument check lists
I am a fan of cabri from kerala
That rotating scissors is called a Swash-follower in Rc helicopter lingo. ;o)
So who is the supermodel that wants to fly?
Do you guys do the main blade tracking yourself?
Afrocanuk yes we do

They use an engine from 1930, no electronics. Obsolete, but they were used to appeal to the US market.
Excelente.
Rather train in this than R22
What holds the main Rotor hub in place so it dont fly out ? 30:00
The Jesus nut
So after all these years muffler bearings is a real thing eh?
Is this what you do before flying the heli? Jeez!
NaijaPilotX Max yes
It's important to make sure nothing bad is going to happen while you are in the air man. Nobody wants to die LOL

Could there be a cost of ownership in the long term and ease of maintenance

Because you run at constant speed. No need to change gears.

This is pre- flight, it should be cold

Good helicopeter except the engine. Guimbal should have installed a more modern/better engine than that dinosaur.
Forget the helicopter, I'd like to pre-flight inspect the hottie with the shades!
Shes ok, but thats a sexy chopper
Id like it more if it wasn't painted like a skittle
Jesus Christ what a drag
I am big fan of cabri G2
