The most badass line of the movie that gave me chills was when Ed said, "The court accepts the existence of god when someone swears to tell the truth... I think its about time they accept the existence of the devil."
In the scene where Lorraine is crawling under the house, she gives her purse to Ed to hold, but then as she is under the house, she has her purse and takes the camera out....is it just me, or did anyone else see that ?
She takes the camera out from a leather camera bag, most cameras were carried in a special bag back then. She gave Ed her bag with personal belongings. At least like that it looked to me.
something my friend noticed is that the Witch lady cracked an egg open while she was doing one of her curses and the first time we see that priest, her dad, he was holding a basket of eggs ^^ a neat connection!
For the scene involving the reference to Elvis, I always thought the reason Ed and Loraine smirked at one another was--where she tells the driver that she met Elvis in life and after--because she had seen Elvis in the afterlife sense (e.g. ghost, spirit, whatever you wanna call it). The explanation given in this video works fine too (Ed playing the guitar for the kids and Lorraine), I had just always thought that Lorraine seeing Elvis' ghost was why Ed and Lorraine were smirking with one another.
I wonder why James Wan didn't direct Conjuring 3 tho, but then I remembered that he also eventually stopped directing SAW and INSIDIOUS from the 2nd movie installment
It's a trend in the movie industry, 3rd movie or a game in a classic series is almost never as good and that's where the quality tends to decline. Maybe that's why he doesn't like to do them, it's almost bound to not be as good as the predecessors. Usually by 3rd instalment it gets stałe and repetitive, not that original and starts getting mass produced. He prefers to switch to something else rather than do 3rd part of the same thing.
"Based on a true story" is license to take one truth and create an entire fictional story around it. This movie was as much based on true facts as the other two conjuring movies
@Azael Gomez. I thought everything in the entire Warren storytelling mythos has been understood as fictional, given the multitude of conflicting details in every telling.
The conjuring series are all based on real cases which Ed and Lorraine Warren had seen and took care of, and of course it's a movie so they had to change some things up to make it look more scary, I suggest you search the case up to understand more.
Yeah, I like it cause it was more relationship based, which reflected the case; a guy murdering a man out of presumed romantic jealousy, and being snapped out of demonic manipulation by his beloved, same with Ed and Lorraine. It’s more based in romantic love, than familial.
I watched all of james wans movies like dead silence, insidious 1-3, the conjuring 1-3, the nun, annabelle etc they aren't scary at all but I still like them.
It made me smile. While this movie had a lot of flaws, and focused more on romantic relationships rather than familial (just like the case), and while I wish it could’ve given more context to the history of the cult lady, I feel like this bit definitely was a nice add on. I feel like if they tweaked it a bit, and the director was less trying to use Wan’s techniques and more of his own, this movie could’ve been so much better. This touch is one of those that I feel the director included, and is just a nice one. (Plus… I dunno, I didn’t like the case for the same reason I didn’t like the Warrens; it felt skeevy, especially since the family members are still alive. It just feels wrong.)
Goodness me man your ears must be burning… I was just talking about the possibility of this video being released soon today. Not one hour ago. Not a chance to watch now, but will like in advance. Raising my whiskey glass to you.

I heard a story about someone who's boss read the book of 'The Exorcist'. He was reading it at work, but one day the book was missing and she asked what had happened to it. He told her that he'd finished reading it and it had freaked him out so badly he'd thrown it in the river because he never wanted it near him again. When he was out one day she went out, bought a new copy of the book, ran it under the tap until it was drenched and then she put it in his desk drawer. When he came back and found it..... Well, needless to say she wasn't working there for long....
he has the best eye i swear i can’t even comprehend everything that’s going on in scenes and he’s over here looking at posters and thinking about the secrets behind them
My favorite scene from the movie is when Lorraine interrupts the ritual saying, “End this Black Sabbath, by the blood of Calvary I command it!” It was BAD 👏🏼 ASS 👏🏼
I've found one too!!! When Arne wakes up, after David's exorcism, and he's talking with his girlfriend in bed, you can see some cement blocks on the right hand side. There's a tiny nun figurine on one of those cement blocks.
You missed something and I’m surprised you did. The girl that was also possessed by the witch was the same actress who played one of the nuns in The Nun.
8:16 I think the reason why they were out of sorts is because of what happened with Ed; heart attacks can cause you to be a bit forgetful afterwards, and can commonly result in cognitive issues. For Lorraine, it’s just her being skeeved out cause of all the dark artifacts; for Ed, it’s just cause he’s still reeling from after his heart issue.
This video was better than the film itself haha, great job Zac. You've made this whole series more interesting to fans like us by digging so deep. You're the best.
I don’t know why people didn’t like the new conjuring film, yeah it might’ve not been scary but it was still intense and interesting to watch. They’re making the movies based on the cases Ed and Lorraine warren did.
7:55 maybe it’s just me, but I thought that scene kinda made sense because the stuff in Kastner’s room were just books that held demon-related knowledge, instead of an actual entity. So destroying those books would be easier instead of the vessels. Nonetheless, great video as usual CZ.

And while were at it, damballa was involved in the Chucky franchise and demons are involved in The Conjuring franchise.

Im a 7th generation preacher. I have seen some pretty twisted things, even things you would think are possession. Its not the ones who remember what happened its the ones who don't. Arne Johnson let something in due to his family and their morbid interests and it influenced his psyche, he wasn't possessed at all. He put himself in a trance like mindset that caused what happened to happen. I've seen some very deranged situations with people who were simply under the influence of "thought" of being possessed. I've also seen what I believe to be genuine possessions. I.E things moving around the house lights uncontrollably flickering windows shattering with nothing hitting them, storms centered on specific locations when it was supposed to be clear that night. I even had one person who I was moving to a church and my car completely broke down on the freeway (it was 2012 the vehicle was a 2010 with NO issues) truth is stranger than fiction but 90% of the time that i've been involved with these types of cases (im a theologian) were just people being consumed by the "idea" of being possessed and acting on their darker more human impulses.
