Damn birds. Keep after them 🦃 I remember last season was absolutely terrible. I only heard 1 gobbler and then heard the gunshot go off. That was the only gobbler all season I heard. I had 1 hen come straight out to my hen decoy. She was vocal as ever, it was such a cool experience! She came straight out to my decoy 2 days in a row. So I’m assuming she had a nest near by. She was all by herself.

Those birds have been frustrating me this year too. Can't seem to get them to respond much to anything. Carl's luck should change soon I'd think.

Your GoPro got them this day. Try to be more transparent with nature lol. No you need to stop being transparent They know you are there when you are so set things off their normal path and setup off their route but indistance to shoot the path lol

Tried for the last 5 years and I just dont see the point anymore. I'm hanging up the turkey hunting and going back to fishing and mushroom hunting. It's just not enjoyable being frustrated every hunt.

It can be very frustrating at times. A lot of people expect you to hear a gobbler every time you go out, but more times than not it’s not the case. A lot of times it’s dead silent in the morning. That doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t there. They could have hens with them, or might just not be gobbling. The key to Turkey hunting is a lot of patience. A lot of hunters will go out, and if they don’t hear anything they pack it up and go meet their buddies out for breakfast. What they don’t know is that’s sometimes prime time of killing a Turkey. The hens usually will leave the gobbler to go sit on the nest. This leaves the gobbler alone looking for a hen to be with. That’s where you have the advantage of killing a big old gobbler. Patience is key to success. It can be frustrating when you don’t hear or see anything for a couple hours, but hang in there, because you never know when they could be right on top of you.
