Loved this video! There are so many great finds at the thrift. 1. A cookbook with a casserole or batter bowl, all thrifted of course. 2. Vintage crocheted potholders-I use them for coasters or “mug rugs” and they are washable, gift with a thrifted mug and spoon. 3. Crystal-trinket jars, wine bottle coasters, wine glasses-waterford, gorham, mikasa, the thrift is full of it. So many ideas, wander around and let your imagination run free😉❤❤
Platters make great hostess gifts if you want to food on it, like baked goods or appetizers. Also vases are abundant at the thrift to give as a hostess gift with fresh flowers from the store.
As of this year, my husband & l only buy second hand or at thrift stores. Trying to be better steward of our environment & finances. We have saved so much money. Plus, we give & receive things from our buy nothing facebook group too. 💕🎉🥳
We went to barbeque to my sister in law 3 months ago and they didn't have any bbq-tools or apron, so those ware what me and my partner thrifted for them for christmas. We give so much thrifted books, towels, napkins, games and sweaters. Our youngest kid just made some pictures, but she didn't have album to but those, so I found very cute one for her. This year for the first time I'll give muggs, because I found perfect muggs for two sibling with their initials on them. Found the first mugg 4 months ago and the second today. I'm so happy about that. I was about to wait till I find something similar to other one, but I found one with same set 😭 I also found 2 fidged toys to go with the same theam. 👌
I always check the hats section at my thrift stores for NWT beanies, gloves, and scarves. As a matter of fact, I found a NWT Oakley brand beanie tonight for $1.99. Same with things like makeup bags, tote bags, and wallets. Belts and neckties, too. To add to your frame ideas, maybe pick up some cool art books and add pages to the frames and “curate” your loved one a few for a gallery wall! Find other thrifted wall decor that ties into whatever theme, colors, aesthetic that go with the book pages you framed (e.g., maybe a small mirror, a cross, an arrow, a pair of wall candle scones, small wooden shelf, a wooden monogram letter, etc.).
I enjoyed the video. Christmas gifts exchanged between my daughter and I have to be handmade or thrifted . I am making my daughter an art journal using a thrifted book.
Thank you for these wonderful ideas! I would not mind a thrifted gift at all! You had great ideas with the cookbook basket, the frames, I love them all! I put together a basket of cosmetics, lotions, nail polish etc that I collect from yard sales and thrifting for my sisters gifts. All the items are new never opened and and were thrifted. They think I broke the bank!! lol!
"You're doing life wrong." Hahaha! That cracked me up! I've seen most of these ideas before, but I like the way you gave them your own unique approach. The idea of repainting a cheap old painting in a really nice frame, is a great idea. And for those who are less artistically inclined, they can probably find an inexpensive poster or online print to put into the large frame.
Girl I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!! You are the best!!! Im just getting started. I’m kind of discouraged. I went through a thrift store yesterday a huge one I was there over six hours. I found like two things a couple, Ralph Lauren, and some Eileen Fisher that wasn’t even impressive. Actually, I found two of the same exact orange sweater. I’m quite sure they weren’t anything great. I found a Free The People and didn’t know what it was at the time, after watching your videos as I was Thrifting I went back could not find it. But that was it. I’m so discouraged what do you suggest. I’m in Columbus Ohio. I just can’t believe after going through 100’s 100’s of items hardly any thing. I’ve been binge watching your videos. I memorize so much and I have cheat cards with me. PLEASE HELP ME 😂😂😂
Maybe if someone you know loves a certain designer brand in handbags, you can find a clean condition vintage bag. If they also like scarves, find one that can go together with the purse and tie it at the end.
I thrifted 75% of my gifts with my thredup credits. I made a goal to send the items I don't want to list for some reason or items NWT and Higher priced sometimes into ThredUP for the specific reason of using it to buy my families gifts. It worked out really well. I made around $500 all year to spend on gifting. I was able to buy one of our daughters a NWT Kate spade bag and everyone gets something Lululemon to feel special because where we are from there are no stores to be able to get them easily. The grandkids who want more toys and not really clothing are the only ones that I will need to spend my own money on getting.
@@RebekahAllison Thanks girl!! I loved the idea and was so shocked how well it worked out! It really took lot off of us as far as getting gifts in order this year! I got them through the year! So, now I just have to pull them out and make them pretty with a bow!
When I give someone flowers, I like to thrift a pretty/unusual vase to put them in.
Great idea!
