This game means everything to me because of the memories I shared with my brother. When we were just 7 years old, we received our N64. We played so many games together, but Mario Party 3 stands out the most. I was always Yoshi, and he was Princess Daisy. Those were the happiest times of my life. Sadly, in 2012, his life was taken by his boyfriend, and I still can't shake the heartbreak. But remembering the joy we found in those Nintendo 64 games brings a tear to my eye. I miss him more than words can express. Fly high, Kain. You'll always be my little brother. ❤️🕊️
This is really a farewell to the N64 if you think about it. Mario Party 3 was one of the last games released for it, which is why 3 is tough to find these days...
MP3 is the last game ever released in Europe, minus the unlicenced 40 Winks that came out recently. Good thing I have one from 2007 and still have it to this day since it starts to be rarer now.

It really kicks me in the nostalgia, I remember the thrill of beating this game for the first time, it was about 2AM, I was about 9 years old, and I just remember sitting there, sitting in my dark room dimly lit by my screen absolutely in awe about the adventure I had just taken.

Good bye. This theme makes me cry. N64 Mario Party games are the best imo. Sure they are now polish and beautifulnow . But I prefer the rough and hard edges here.
Mario Party 3 has perhaps my favourite ending of any Nintendo 64 game. Topping Super Mario 64 for me. The story that was dumb and hilarious up to this point, ended on a good twist and emotional finale. The credits with this beautifully crafted soundtrack, last shot of Mario and his friends just outside of the castle, and the end screen. A Mario Party board game, a die, a glass of water, it's all on a table, and the word "END" at the bottom right. To say it's a surprisingly tearjerking and meaningful last screen would be an understatement, especially since this was the last screen to be shown on the Nintendo 64 in PAL territories (look it up, Mario Party 3 was the last N64 game released in the UK, Australia and Europe). I'm happy that the N64 ended with a party, but I'm also disappointed that it was the last because of how hard it is to find especially with the expensive price. Still, I have to take the time to appreciate that end screen. The N64 was THE console of its time for fun and innovative multiplayer games. Excitement and frustration was to be had with friends, and it's a huge shame I never got to properly experience that growing up (I had the GameCube). The end screen, coupled with its release date, is a really fitting yet heartbreaking way of saying goodbye to those memories whilst also taking the time to just sit and think about those great times. It screams childhood to say the least. The only thing to do now is to move on from the past, and experience the future. While not one of my favourite Nintendo consoles, I have to give major credit. The N64 started with a 10/10 game (Super Mario 64) and it ended with a 10/10 game (Mario Party 3). Both are my two favourite games on the Nintendo 64 and some of the best video games I've ever played. I wish I grew up with Mario Party 3 (as well as 2) instead of 4 and 5 (both lackluster entries in retrospect). I would have played this for hours upon hours and so on. I'm at least glad to own a physical copy despite it costing me £75, and I hope Nintendo chooses to rerelease this masterpiece if they make N64 emulation a thing again on the Switch.
This soundtrack looks so emotional! So emotional still when Nintendo 64 launched this like the last game! And this game was launched at december 2000,It seems popular in 2001! Something that must remind the 2000s childrens of!

This section is when Bowser's minions would appear on top of the names in the credits. It builds all this scary tension before the big reveal of Bowser waving at you at 1:57, where we get a cathartic resolution to the chords. It sort of feels like someone pretending to be a ghost to spook you, but then turning on the lights and saying "it's just me!" and you realize you had nothing to be afraid of.
Though I still own the game, WHY don't they make games like they used to... Marty Party 3 may be the black sheep of the original N64 titles (still great, though), but it's credits were like the first two. It's beautiful. All the later games, especially recent ones, lost all that glory. :(
