The NY Sirens logo when I saw it just as an image I wasn't crazy about it but then when I saw the picture of the jersey and the full uniform I gotta say I really love it.
Originally based in Boston, they were charter members of the WHA, known as the New England Whalers for all seven seasons. After their second season, the team moved one hundred miles (160 km) southwest to Hartford in April 1974 five years later, the Whalers joined the NHL in the 1979 NHL-WHA merger and were renamed the Hartford Whalers After 25 years in New England, the franchise relocated to North Carolina in 1997 and became the Carolina Hurricanes.
Good job overall. I still see Flames when I see Ottawa's logo but the rest of the jersey helps. I'm guessing the light blue on Montreal is an homage to other Montreal/Quebec teams (Expos, Nordiques, parts of the Canadiens history) but it looks excessively out of place. It could work, but you would have to change other things about the jerseys and logo. I wouldn't be surprised it their branding changes in the future to better accommodate, or eliminate altogether the light blue. The one thing that bugs me most, which wasn't really visible, is the change of striping on Toronto's away jersey. The striping on the bottom of the sleeves is different than the striping on the bottom of the jersey and it really clashes.
It breaks my brain to say I love Montreal's jersey, but here we are. LOL Love the maroon, dark blue, off-white and the logo itself. Not sure I would have such a big stripe of off-white down below, or any of that light blue, but still, it's number one for me.
I gotta say, as a Bruins fan, I completely disagree that the Fleet missed the mark branding-wise. The dark green is quite Irish, the nautical theme is very Boston, and the Whalers-inspired logo is of course an homage to one of the best logos in hockey, not to mention they were once "New England". It's not "Bruins", sure, and I certainly wouldn't have been against it being that, but it's 100% Boston hockey.
1. MINNESOTA... Amazing colors and logo. 2. MONTREAL... Great details all over. 3. NEW YORK... All colors make it pop. 4. OTTAWA... The addition of black and grey elevated it. 5. TORONTO... Unfortunately, it's average but clean. 6. BOSTON... It's more like New England Fleet to me or Boston Luck and Boston Bellas.
5:16 I don't think you can underestimate the importance of the white outline on the Frost jersey...it allows you to see the shape of an "M" (indeed I think the designers missed the mark by having that last jagged edge along the very bottom of the "F"). Whereas on the white jersey, the absence of an outline takes away this possibility.
They’re fine but they all look like they used the same template so it feels a bit lazy. From the back especially you see every one has the same shoulders and neck
There’s some inconsistencies with the top stripe on the bottom of the jerseys for NY. 6:40- navy blue stripe on top 6:45- now it’s an out of place gray???
@@mightyjerseys93 Yes, most people would think of it as Purple. I put down Royal Blue in case someone came along to say that the Los Angeles Kings say it is not Purple but Royal Blue.
Montreal's so close to perfect, but there are some oddities as you mentioned. Love Boston's branding and I don't really care if it's like Hartford, that was a great brand. I wish they could've used the wave texture they've been using on socials as a texture on the sleeves but that might not be feasible with the budget. It's going to take awhile for me to see Minnesota's as anything other than a Hockey Fights Cancer set of alternates just because no one's really used purple like that in any other scenario.
I understand what the Boston Fleet was doing, trying to connect with Boston's maritime history and using the green to connect with the Boston Celtics. But they could've distanced themselves from the Whalers a little more.
These are amazing jerseys, and I am glad that Bauer is making them - I'll bet that the NHL is kicking themselves for not choosing them. Even better, Bauer chose to use their wordmark for their branding, I'm not very keen on their bouncing puck logo. Bring back the Flying B, that's what I say. I look forward to watching some PWHL action, hoping that their games are free to view on RUclips.
My ranking home and road: Home: 6-Ottawa 5-Boston 4-Toronto 3-Minnesota 2-Montreal 1-New York Road: 6-Ottawa 5-Minnesota 4-Boston 3-Toronto 2-New York 1-Montreal
I waited for these reveals on IG. I like NY the most, the NY Goalkeeper pads are sooo good, and I like Montreal too, probably because the dark red is my favorite color, couldn’t understand the light blue outline. idk it’s hard to say. I really like them all. maybe we’ll get Miami team at some point, vice city pink and blue!!!!! I want to go see a game. I looked at branding symmetry with all the teams and surrounding sports teams and I think most of these teams did pretty well, like NY keeping teal in all the women’s sports teams, Ottawa symmetry with the redblacks the 67’s. Toronto keeping a blue, and Montreal is perfect. Just perfect. Minnesota with Purple, the Minnesota Vikings use purple as well, Boston is the only one I really couldn’t understand the way they went branding and color wise.
In some images of the New Tork Sirens jersey the jersey has a thin gray stripe and is some it doesn't. I hope the actual jerseys don't have that stripe. It's out of place because the is no gray at all in the logo or anywhere else in the jersey. What do you think?
Just a few thoughts on how I feel they could improve Not a fan of the striping on the arms, how it just stops instead of continuing. Montreal went all in on the French and I am ok with that, but they probably should have left the league shoulder patch as PWHL. Not a fan of the gray on Ottawa. Toronto looks more like a Seattle or St.Louis style to me.
Boston’s home jersey is a dark green logo on a dark green jersey with a black drop shadow. So dull. I’m also not a fan of the logo. They took a cool, anchor/B idea, italicized it to death, then added tiny waves that make it look like some country’s counterfeit-proof bank note.
I think the blue in the Boston team comes from the logo, if you look closley the shadow of the logo is actualy dark blue (if I'm not wrong) anyway I don't like the blue.
I feel like overall the names and the logos of all the teams are super underwhelming/generic feeling... not one of them has a tangible object, animal, or anything of the sort... its all just letters...big snoozefest in that regard... The Sirens had every opportunity to actually utilize the imagery of a mythological siren and it would've looked INCREDIBLE. I do love that Boston leaned so hard into the Whalers aesthetic but I agree... i don't think of Boston. I think of Hartford. All that being said, the jerseys do look super awesome. I love Boston's colors. The teal with that dark green is a unique colorway. Just the right amount of detail. I rather like the longer shoulders too. Minnesota has fun colors too. The Sirens have such a fun color palette... Love the away jersey. I wish so bad they had a logo that utilizes an actual siren. Would be incredible. Ottawa colors look great too. Toronto has stunning jerseys. The colors are fantastic. Montreal has the best jerseys imo. Very clean, very class. They have my favorite logo as well. I am praying Pittsburgh gets a team and they stick to black and yellow like the rest of the city. I would have so much fun watching a Pittsburgh women's hockey team!!
Teams to use purple are ...... this is going by league..... NFL: Vikings & Ravens MLB: Rockies & Diamondbacks NHL: Los Angeles Kings & Coyotes NBA has a bunch who wore purple: Raptors, Lakers, Hornet, Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Suns, & Pelicans with their Mardi Gras alternate -- by the way, the original team for the Sacramento Kings, Rochester Royals, had purple MLS: Orlando FC I'm not including college athletics, either.
NY's logo is crap but the colors are amazing! The choice to outline the white numbers with yellow instead of navy was a miss, though. It makes them seem blurry with that teal background. Overall I think the jerseys and logos are pretty disappointing. It's almost like they had one logo designer and one jersey designer doing their job separated from oneanother and then just merged the finished results together and went with it. Overall I think Montreal came out best of the bunch.
Most of these are great but DAMN did they drop the ball with Ottawa. I think it stands out more since they're the only truly bad design, mostly due to the logo. Its annoying to see. I expect them to be the first team rebranded
Montreal looks far and away the best in my opinion. I like the colour of Minnesota's jersey. Really nice to look at and really unique. The Ottawa is my least favourite. The logo is just so weird to me.
Drives me nuts when the sleeve stripes don’t match the hem striping (looking at you, Minnesota). NY best jersey/colors, weak logo. Ottawa does nothing for me.
Most of them are awful. Boston literally stole Hartford Whalers logo and turned it sideways Ottawa’s just looks way too much like Calgary Flames. NY one is probably the best

Boston fleet is an amazing logo and jersey
Toronto is literally the St Louis Blues. Same color and the logo is ST lol

NFL teams that use purple...yes, the Ravens...but how about Minnesota's own team the Vikings??
The Montreal home jersey almost looks like the old Tulsa Oilers alternative jerseys from the mid 2000's
The Montréal Maroons
Boston is basically the Binghamton Whalers logo with hooks.
3:44 I 100% agree I liked how the Boston pride shared the same colors as the bruins
Minnesota Frost is my favourite and I love the name!
I genuinely love the jerseys for the teams. Toronto and Montreal are my favs but the more I look at them the more I like them.

The Sirens logo is so bad it brings the jersey down.

I do not see the M?

6:40- navy blue stripe on top

NY and Montreal are by far the best. NY is loud and awesome, while Montreal is clean and classy.
Toronto dark colors look like the St. Louis Blues colors.
Like the Canadiens, the Victoire are showing the league logo in French. LPHF 👍
Neil, for the 3rd time, can I send in hand-drawn logo concepts to the channel?
Did you forget the La Kings were Purple(ROYAL BLUE) FROM 1967-1988
Okay bro 🙄 outside of LA, everyone else in the world would universally agree that it’s purple.
@@mightyjerseys93 Yes, most people would think of it as Purple. I put down Royal Blue in case someone came along to say that the Los Angeles Kings say it is not Purple but Royal Blue.

Those Montreal jerseys, lose the light blue and for me they are perfect 🤩
I understand what the Boston Fleet was doing, trying to connect with Boston's maritime history and using the green to connect with the Boston Celtics. But they could've distanced themselves from the Whalers a little more.
Boston have a "shadowed" logo in dark blue, maybe that's why the gloves and the pants are dark blue

That Sirens joint is 🔥
I really like Boston’s home jersey and Montreal’s road jersey
Montreal and Minnesota have the best looking jerseys in the PWHL.
New York has the loudest looking jerseys.
I think the light blue in the Montreal jersey could be a reference to the provincial flag or maybe for the Nordiques!?;
My ranking home and road:

Why Bauer had to copy the adidas toilet seat collar?

I like the boston jersey in the first photo, looks good on everyone I guess ,
For Montréal, it’s not however we want to pronounce it, it is Victoire.
🤓
If I send you jersey concepts, do they have to be NHL? I have concepts for the NCAA and Minnesota High School.
Is it just me that Ottawa's logo is giving me flames vibes 😅
NY isnt supposed to look like islanders, its supposed to be close to the knicks. Also another "NY" team that plays in NJ

i disagree on the boston jersey. they are most likely representing New England as opposed to just boston. if thats the case good job
they look great.

Light blue to honor the Nordiques?
the celtics are green. i think you're nitpicking a bit...
Montreal looks far and away the best in my opinion.
I like the colour of Minnesota's jersey. Really nice to look at and really unique.
The Ottawa is my least favourite. The logo is just so weird to me.
How about the Minnesota Vikings for a football team that wears purple?
They’re his favourite team too!
Drives me nuts when the sleeve stripes don’t match the hem striping (looking at you, Minnesota). NY best jersey/colors, weak logo. Ottawa does nothing for me.
The designers got some easy money out of laziness.
Every name, logo and jerseys are shit.
Boston is a complete knock off of the Hartford Whalers.
New York jersey the nicest and the worst of them the rest 😀
Most of them are awful.
Boston literally stole Hartford Whalers logo and turned it sideways
Ottawa’s just looks way too much like Calgary Flames.
NY one is probably the best
Boston should have been named New England. New England Fleet sounds better.
They are all bad
Montreal and Minnesota have the best looking jerseys in the PWHL.
New York has the loudest looking jerseys.
