    Is this an almost-free alternative to soothe 2? Let me know in the comments below!

    Excellent review and demo, as always! Thank you for the dive! That swish/ringing sound associated with the resonance sweep was hard to pin down at first but the plugin tamed it effectively. This is a winner at this price point! I hope WA productions displays the perceived resonances more clearly in the GUI on a future update.

      Thank you! Yes, I agree: I meant to mention that I though the frequency analyzer wasn't very useful, i.e., you can barely see if there is any gain reduction at all, or what the "problem" frequencies are. Good call!

    This is the best resonance plugin I've ever tried. (And I have them all, including Soothe 2). I was able to fix a problem master in two seconds. Great recommendation, thank you!!!

      @@esahm373 WA Production, United Plugins, UVI and Melda Production are owned by Image-Line they all are sister companies and indeed they share some features and frameworks. In this case Deres is sharing the oversampling and preset algorithm of Melda but it's not a Melda Plugin. Almost all plugins from all other companies recently coming out are using Juce Framework for example.

    Soothe acts on multiple frequencies at the same time, with Deres you have to choose only one resonant frequency and only other ones very close to the choosed via the Q setting.

    • @palebluedotstudios
      @palebluedotstudios  3 месяца назад

      Definitely. It's focused. I would say it's clearly not acting in the spectral domain on multiple dynamic bands, like soothe 2; but I find it very effective, with lots of options for sculpting your sound. Oh yeah: and it's cheap! Thanks for watching!

    • @ramspencer5492
      @ramspencer5492 3 месяца назад +2

      Sometimes there really is only one nasty resonance... And Smoothe 2 can be overkill.... A lot of people have had to dial back their soothe 2 use.... After making things too tame

    • @palebluedotstudios
      @palebluedotstudios  3 месяца назад +1

      @@ramspencer5492 Oh, I agree. soothe 2 definitely is overused. And often with my own mixes, I kill these resonances and then I A/B with a reference mix, and I'm like, "Oh: this Zeppelin track has tons of resonances in the guitars!", and I back off the processing. Always good to be careful and have a reality-check! Cheers!

    • @stevespacek8893
      @stevespacek8893 2 месяца назад +1

      Soothe is a great plugin. But I love these types of plugins even more. Deres in particular does show Soothe up to be overkill in most situations. So far, I’ve found Deres to be so elegant n simple in use. Plus they understand that in doing this type of sculpting, you might wanna add some vibe back in, with those extra tone controls. Personally, I believe that Soothe is in no way worth multiple times more than a plugin like Deres. My experience with overpriced plugins is that you can always find many cheaper alternatives- some even for free- and in many cases with way more charm and vibe than those with high stickers. Ultimately all subjective of course;)

    • @stevespacek8893
      @stevespacek8893 2 месяца назад +2

      Or forgot to say, you can work on multiple frequencies same time with Deres too. If you combine and adjust the octave function along with the Q knob, then dial in the dynamic function. Then effectively you have dynamic resonance suppression on multiple frequencies at the same time. With each of those controls being infinitely variable, within the audible and visually displayed frequency ranges.

    • @palebluedotstudios
      @palebluedotstudios  2 месяца назад

    Seems like a better till than Soothe 2 for many kinda of resonance suppression... Not a better tool overall.... Different. Better for some things... Won't do others. Would work well as an additional tool in the tool box....

    • @palebluedotstudios
      @palebluedotstudios  3 месяца назад
