i don’t mind people engaging in black culture, like wearing african attire when on holiday in africa,as long as we are allowed to engage in other cultures. it only becomes a problem when people start appropriating cultures and being disrespectful, like wearing box braids and saying you look better than a black person or wearing something that is modest in a certain culture but making it look provocative and sexy by making it revealing and exposing of your skin in an unmodest way.
I feel like that modest comment is kind of policing women’s bodies. Maybe because of someone’s body shape something is more revealing that isn’t an insult it’s just how someone chooses to show their body which is up to them not anyone else
Ellie there’s a malaysian garment that women wear it’s a long dress and you wear it with leggings underneath and kacey musgraves cut hip high slits on both sides of the dress and was posing “provocatively” in that dress with no leggings and a lot of ppl were offended. i’m not policing anybody’s body, i’m just saying that some cultures are modest and require you to cover up and it’s a problem when you make it revealing intentionally. like in my mums country in kenya everybody has to be modest so i can’t wear something tight like leggings or a short skirt or super shirt denim shorts. it’s just the way the culture is there and i have to respect it. but here in england i can dress however i want and nobody would look twice at me.
@@Ellie-jr4zy Not at all, she means the common situation where people of different cultures wear (for example:) Japanese, Chinese, Indian, korean, African etc.. traditional attire, then change it up so they can show their legs and cleavage. That's taking someone's culture and appropriating it in a way that alters their original values and insults their heritage.
deadass cuz when you think ab it...kylie lowkey stopped being problematic when she got pregnant and hasn't really started any big controversies since then causing her likability and following to skyrocket
googoogirl114 it's uhhh pretty common knowledge she's had plastic surgery but like there's literally nothing wrong with that??? it's her body. kylie got her millions by using her family's status to jumpstart her cosmetic empire, something she started at the age of 17. you may not like her but that's no reason to downplay her success. chill out

Stephane Mathurin I’m sure Nikita herself forgot she could use her psoriasis condition as an excuse and some random fan remembered and tried to justify it.
As someone who is white and has psoriasis (and not a little), when I spend a lot of time tanning in the summer to make it go away I don't end up looking like another race they use other stuff and use psoriasis as an excuse (sorry for my bad English)
When you said that Kim Kardashian will go for the black outrage again in the next week you were totally right. She posted a pic about her makeup line showing how pale she is vs how dark her makeup makes her. And it's so clear that she wanted outrage with that post
Can we talk about how Gucci did black face LAST YEAR and our favs including Queen Bey are still wearing it??? Like I’m genuinely confused as to why everybody forgot the blatant racism. It’s like it didn’t happen.
Nikita’s career is on her last leg IMO! Black outrage has lost its selling point, the ability to get the masses talking about it is still there, but as far as selling I’m glad people are finding ways around it to avoid contact with the goofies perpetrating it. I have hope that Nikita will lose the little relevance she had up until this point and all of the Kardashians’ Star is fading IMO (including Kylie) their upbringing relied heavily on black outrage and now that they’re trying to rebrand themselves as a high end brand, the streets won’t let them forget their goofy antics from the past. Bottom line, I think we’re getting closer to that point of our lives where Kenya (from as told by Kenya) will yell “Girls and gays we won”
its a bit of a weird one to me. its like, she's borderline (or jus basically) irrelevant, yet she still gets away with so much. maybe it's because she *is* irrelevant? idk.
do you want me to congratulate you and invite you to the cookout because you’re “one of the good white people that dont say the n word”? *im still holding your people accountable.
Comme De Gacron did the cornrow wigs, mind you they’re a Japanese fashion brand, but their alleged inspiration was “ancient Egyptians”, the models were in bright colors and ugly patterns not linen and gold, also I didn’t know they had lace fronts in BCE
i can’t stand how much she is handed in life. she is a terrible person with no talents and everyone hates her, but she constantly gets these opportunities like going to the met gala, VMA’a, grammys i think, and fashion weeks. WHY?! she’s problematic at nearly all these events and i’m sure she’s just invited for the controversy to get more viewership. she can be the worst person in the world but she don’t care. she get all her coin from being a damn clown. she a millionaire and she doesn’t have to do anything.
jboww2121 ma'am I don't care for her myself but you sound bitter asl. "Handed" is a BIG reach considering she's trans and still a woc. Influencers work their asses off problematic or not. Instead of ranting about why she doesn't "deserve" what she has, ignore her. Move on.
I knew making black outrage was being used for attention when Gucci had that blackface reference in their clothing it’s like no one part of that entire fashion house to not know it was a problem. At this point black folks we have social media power pay them dust and not give them any attention at all, save the outrage and cancel power for more serious problematic issues. Also thank u for mentioning Kim kardashian she and her sisters to me personally are responsible for the black fishing situation
Every time I see someone defend Nikita my mind goes back to that now deleted tweet where she says, "When you're so tan you look black." Yeah, interesting how people keep saying it's "just a tan."🤔
Adding on to the Jordan woods situation. Kendall was recently seen hanging out at like an event thingy with one of kourtney’s ex’s, I don’t see kourtney being upset with HER SISTER hanging out with a man she used to date. Like come on they actually need to Iike go. You would think for women who pretty much only date black men they wouldn’t be racist but I guess they have all proved us wrong.
Kayzia-Ashley Washington nah Kendall has had some black guys even Travis, Kourtney is the least problematic out of all of them but I’m sure she has her faults too
The fact that our emotions and feelings are being used for marketing and clout is so wild to me lmao. I noticed this shit during the Tarte scandal and that was only a few months after I first got into beauty stuff
Nobody is forcing black people to respond to obvious attempts at trolling and inciting outrage. Most black people will run themselves ragged giving these people and these companies the reaction that want. They're not going to stop appropriate black orientated hair styles and fashions so why bother? I honestly don't think this would be a problem if others weren't able to profit off of it.
There is a way to appreciate culture. I feel it is ok to wear things out of your culture as long as you understand where it's from/source, not using it for personal monetary profit(ex:fashion designers ripping designs from indigenous tribes and not mention it or give back to said communities) , and knowing a bit of the cultural significance to wear the item/clothes or how to wear it appropriately. Basically, do it properly and no one will be mad. The way Nikita goes about doing it is distasteful...like, we know she does this for outrage. It's hard for me to believe she is this ignorant when she deletes tweets like that and continues to pull stunts-she knows what she's doing.
Coming back to this a week later because your Kim Kardashian predictions were totally correct. Everyone’s outraged because of her braids at fashion week 🤦🏾♀️
The thing about makeup black outrage is that they literally have the shades ready for darker skin tones, they just omit them from promo images and hold them out specifically so that black people will get angry. Because doesn’t everybody what happened with Tarte and a bunch of these other brands? A week later they added a bunch more shades. They had those shades the whole time, they just feed off the anger of black people to get publicity.
What bothered me the most about the Jordan Woods foolishness is that it took a name like the ‘Smith-Pinkettes’ for her to be heard. But hey; I’m the ‘old auntie’; so I could be wrong. 💅🏽
You're not wrong. If it weren't for Jada, that poor girl would never have stood a chance. I'm only 29, so I'm not exactly old, but watching people attack Jordan felt like seeing a little girl being bullied. It was gross.
I know this is gonna sound soooo cheesy, but honestly you seem like you would be a great friend to have an actual conversation with. Like these type of topics come up and instead of me going to my friends with the confidence that they’ll give me a great response back and we can build on ideas they just say it’s not worth talking about OR they’ll just ignore me. But pardon my corniness when I say this, but ma’am, you and your commentary is awesome and I wish I had friend like u to talk about these things with💕.
I'm slowly realizing, that "black outrage" is more common and prevalent than before I watched this video...there's so many things that I'm now genuinely seeing as problematic that I couldn't pinpoint before!!! Thank you for this video!
"Black Outrage" marketing is lazy, devious and efficent. Kim Kardashian is adept at it. Design houses have picked up on this trend too. But when we realize that it's a tactic and ignore the talentless narcisst influencers/celebrities. Thank goodness people are waking up to it.
omg yayyyy.....another video about the amazing , selfless , unproblematic , and considerate nikita durango 💀💀👻👻(yes this joke is inspired by itzkeisha and yes i know the whole video isn't about her)
the part around brands waiting a fee months to add more shades its DEFFFFINITELY because they already have the dark shades but hold them off for the initial release to create black outrage

It's nothing to be proud of, it's common sense. Her being trans has nothing to do with her being racist, so anyone relevant wouldn't need to mention it. Let's stop praising people for doing the bare minimum.
Kendra Young you know when your mom tells you that getting an A+ was just the bare minimum? Yeah, its a great way of discouraging ppl. Who knows maybe when boomers are gone and we are living in the socially aware utopia we can start acting like that’s just the bare minimum chile🤷
SuperPianogirl123 and would even half of the world’s population consider transphobes to be garbage? No, so y’all can stop acting like being socially aware is the bare minimum when we’re clearly not there yet. Oscar Mota I don’t think transphobia could be solved tbh.. kinda like racism.. it would never be easy unless like children were raised right but we can see how some are raised it’s so unlikely but educating is greeaat
20:28 and nobody even remembers the designer’s name of what the clothes looked like *(they were ugly by the way)* When you don’t have talent the only way is to try to get people outraged
You explained it so well! I had noticed this concept before, I just didn't have a name for it, and I didn't know other people noticed it too. I kept seeing famous people doing things that they knew, no THEY KNEW was wrong, as they had done it before and received backlash, and I sat there thinking are they dumb? don't they have pr teams telling them that's a bad idea? Because let's just assume they're plain racist and don't care about all the people they're offending, are they also dumb enough to not hide it in order not to get backlash? There's no way they're not doing it on purpose. But you're so right, bad publicity is still publicity, these celebrities know they're going to rightfully offend people and that they will be pissed, so they take advantage of it to get their names on the front page again.

i don’t mind people engaging in black culture, like wearing african attire when on holiday in africa,as long as we are allowed to engage in other cultures. it only becomes a problem when people start appropriating cultures and being disrespectful, like wearing box braids and saying you look better than a black person or wearing something that is modest in a certain culture but making it look provocative and sexy by making it revealing and exposing of your skin in an unmodest way.
I feel like that modest comment is kind of policing women’s bodies. Maybe because of someone’s body shape something is more revealing that isn’t an insult it’s just how someone chooses to show their body which is up to them not anyone else
Ellie I think they meant like a Halloween “sexy Indian”costume
@@angelat5554 exactly!!! 👏
@@Ellie-jr4zy Not at all, she means the common situation where people of different cultures wear (for example:) Japanese, Chinese, Indian, korean, African etc.. traditional attire, then change it up so they can show their legs and cleavage. That's taking someone's culture and appropriating it in a way that alters their original values and insults their heritage.
i honestly wanna watch a "why Kim Kardashian is jealous of Kylie Jenner" video fjdbsbbssha
i second this
I third it
20/10 would watch
deadass cuz when you think ab it...kylie lowkey stopped being problematic when she got pregnant and hasn't really started any big controversies since then causing her likability and following to skyrocket
googoogirl114 it's uhhh pretty common knowledge she's had plastic surgery but like there's literally nothing wrong with that??? it's her body. kylie got her millions by using her family's status to jumpstart her cosmetic empire, something she started at the age of 17. you may not like her but that's no reason to downplay her success. chill out
People will do almost anything, *anything!* for clout.
Recently she showed how much she “tans” and people on Twitter were protecting her by bringing up her psoriasis, it’s fine if she wants to to color correct into a natural shade but why brown sis it’s black face
Stephane Mathurin I’m sure Nikita herself forgot she could use her psoriasis condition as an excuse and some random fan remembered and tried to justify it.
I wouldn't say it's blackface since her goal is not to mock black people, but she is DEFINITELY blackfishing
As someone who is white and has psoriasis (and not a little), when I spend a lot of time tanning in the summer to make it go away I don't end up looking like another race they use other stuff and use psoriasis as an excuse
(sorry for my bad English)
It was actually a filter, she wasn’t wearing a foundation that dark. The filter is called icey eyes
@@ricoquitoo6102 yet when people were using that filter they werent that orange. Stop excusing problematic ppl
When Nikita said durags are the same thing as headscarves i- *CRIES IN MUSLIM*
LITERALLY STOP.
I'm white as fuck and even i know that, what is wrong with her akjckskfk
When you said that Kim Kardashian will go for the black outrage again in the next week you were totally right. She posted a pic about her makeup line showing how pale she is vs how dark her makeup makes her. And it's so clear that she wanted outrage with that post
IM CHOKING IT’S LITERALLY CLOCKWORK
Starting to think Kim Kardashian has actually convinced herself fully that she is black by now.
@@nala3055 she is Armenian

Can we talk about how Gucci did black face LAST YEAR and our favs including Queen Bey are still wearing it??? Like I’m genuinely confused as to why everybody forgot the blatant racism. It’s like it didn’t happen.
This is why I don't count on anyone to follow through on cancel culture
Munchkin SPEAK!! Same here.
Thank You!!!
And celebs are back to wearing Dolce & Gabbana, too. Makes me want to puke.
They didn’t forget it just doesn’t bother them because they can’t opt out of racism with money
Bottom line, I think we’re getting closer to that point of our lives where Kenya (from as told by Kenya) will yell “Girls and gays we won”
i feel like nikita is still protected because shes trans. do uno how many comments ive seen saying "oh its just hair" "get over it"
@@jquiet6487 I'm trans and I hate how problemtic she can be
JQuiet I agree the trans community stick together
its a bit of a weird one to me. its like, she's borderline (or jus basically) irrelevant, yet she still gets away with so much. maybe it's because she *is* irrelevant? idk.
I want to get into Kenya but I can’t deal with the shouting
Even me, white as ur bed I can tell what’s racist and what’s not. I don’t understand other white people but maybe I’ve been raised better.
They know whats racist they're just pretending not to because they don't care.
They know what is and isn’t, they just don’t care.
Was literally going to comment something similar xx Completely agree.
do you want me to congratulate you and invite you to the cookout because you’re “one of the good white people that dont say the n word”? *im still holding your people accountable.
J J you think you’re better than all other white people yet everyone is still gonna see you as white lmao
Comme De Gacron did the cornrow wigs, mind you they’re a Japanese fashion brand, but their alleged inspiration was “ancient Egyptians”, the models were in bright colors and ugly patterns not linen and gold, also I didn’t know they had lace fronts in BCE
Nor did they wear tons of braids and have them done to their eyebrows.
Ancient Egyptian royalty would wear braided extensions in their hair on top of the normal hair, sewn in.
If you not black don’t speak on black issues unless you know what you’re talking about
Semaj da Kid yo my bf telling me that racism/colorism doesn’t happen often
Tamar Joseph leave his dumb ass
i can’t stand how much she is handed in life. she is a terrible person with no talents and everyone hates her, but she constantly gets these opportunities like going to the met gala, VMA’a, grammys i think, and fashion weeks. WHY?! she’s problematic at nearly all these events and i’m sure she’s just invited for the controversy to get more viewership. she can be the worst person in the world but she don’t care. she get all her coin from being a damn clown. she a millionaire and she doesn’t have to do anything.
She's handed everything because she pays to have it. She doesn't earn most of the things she's been rewarded.
jboww2121 ma'am I don't care for her myself but you sound bitter asl.
Every time I see someone defend Nikita my mind goes back to that now deleted tweet where she says, "When you're so tan you look black." Yeah, interesting how people keep saying it's "just a tan."🤔
kim kardashian promoted body makeup to "stop being pale"....... yikes
THESE INTROS ARE SO ICONIC YES
Adding on to the Jordan woods situation. Kendall was recently seen hanging out at like an event thingy with one of kourtney’s ex’s, I don’t see kourtney being upset with HER SISTER hanging out with a man she used to date. Like come on they actually need to Iike go. You would think for women who pretty much only date black men they wouldn’t be racist but I guess they have all proved us wrong.
Sarah Hanif black men are the prize, black women are the competition.
BANDILE NZIMANDE it’s honestly so frustrating and I hate it.
Surprisingly it's possible to be racist to one gender of the race you hate that's what they say but🤷🏽♀️
A little late but the only one (it seems) not aboard the black man train is Kourtney and Kendall, from what I'm aware of
Kayzia-Ashley Washington nah Kendall has had some black guys even Travis, Kourtney is the least problematic out of all of them but I’m sure she has her faults too
The fact that our emotions and feelings are being used for marketing and clout is so wild to me lmao.
The openings always have me dead
“Black outrage is the whole kardashian brand” starting with OJ 😳the dots are connecting 🤯
WE NEED THE KARTRASHIAN VIDEO !!! GIVE ME LIFE!!! PLEASE...
BECAUSE PEOPLE WAS THINKIN I WAS CRAZY FOR DISLIKING THEM
can you do a video on kaitlin bennett(aka gun girl)? i assume u dislike her and honestly i wanna see u drag her lmao

I feel like it’s just low hanging fruit at this point. I never wanna hear her name again full stop lmao
Suzy A. She has a following and will get the message across... recommending ideas to you tubers to understand their viewpoints isn’t new wtf
The thing about makeup black outrage is that they literally have the shades ready for darker skin tones, they just omit them from promo images and hold them out specifically so that black people will get angry. Because doesn’t everybody what happened with Tarte and a bunch of these other brands? A week later they added a bunch more shades. They had those shades the whole time, they just feed off the anger of black people to get publicity.
i thought i was the only one who thought it was weird to wear a wig on an 11 hour flight

When she brought up The Kardashians I instantly thought of Khloe’s insta post with the caption “Bantu babe” 🤦🏻♂️

neegas it was a while ago but it’s ingrained in my head 🤕
Does she NOT know about the Rape of Africa?
I was just sulking bc I couldn’t find a long video to watch while painting my nails.... then you came and saved me 🥺🙌🏾
What bothered me the most about the Jordan Woods foolishness is that it took a name like the ‘Smith-Pinkettes’ for her to be heard.

"Black Outrage" marketing is lazy, devious and efficent. Kim Kardashian is adept at it. Design houses have picked up on this trend too. But when we realize that it's a tactic and ignore the talentless narcisst influencers/celebrities. Thank goodness people are waking up to it.
" she looked like an umpa lumpa" 😂😂 i knew she looked like something but i couldnt remember what it was
You werent wrong about the Kim K. Hair thing. Just looked her up when you said that and she done did it sis

the part around brands waiting a fee months to add more shades its DEFFFFINITELY because they already have the dark shades but hold them off for the initial release to create black outrage
Omg sis you were ABSOLUTELY right about kim Kardashian. I just went on her ig on the latest photo is her with a black hairstyle

I’ve seen stuff online about cultural appreciation but when you talk about it and go deeper it makes me want to do something about but also makes me want to punch stupid people in the face. You are doing such a great job keep going. I love you girl 💜💜💜
I died when she said "talking out of her neck🗣️ " LMAO!!!
can we talk about how literally 10 days after this video, Kim Kardashian the queen of culture appropriation, is seen wearing a hairstyle she should not be wearing at Kanye’s fashion show....
why can’t she wear those braids?
@@ibelieveitsnevertoolatetok429 Because she doesn't understand the culture behind it and she basically tried to take a black hairstyle that was already named and name it herself and own the hairstyle that's why

Period. RUclipsrs like you are so underrated because people hate the truth but the whole video you spoke literal facts.‼️‼️
I just wanna say that I’m proud of us for not responding to Nikita’s bs with transphobia
@@ping4d064 Getting good grades *is* the bare minimum for being a student. Not being garbage is the absolute *bare minimum* of being a person.
SuperPianogirl123 and would even half of the world’s population consider transphobes to be garbage? No, so y’all can stop acting like being socially aware is the bare minimum when we’re clearly not there yet. First we fix the issue **transphobia** then we can go around acting like in 99% of other spaces that aren’t as lgbt inclusive as the beauty community the first thing ppl would come for wouldn’t be her transness
Victoria Daini that was Comme Des Garçons. You remember if you’re into fashion.
I saw the title and said in my head "that's why some of yall faves have houses and cars"
You're on a ROLL this week!
Came from twitter and subscribed after 1 minute lol. This basically sums up everything I have been feeling about some of these influencers lately
