What I find most disturbing is that the deep’s gf tells him to eat the octopus but Homelander says “eat Timothy” which show Homelander’s cruel nature
She shows her cruelty by not caring, seeing it as a different animal without sentience. Homelander understands what he’s doing and shows he truly cares that it is sentient. His cruelty is intimate.

I love how comically uncomfortable they made this scene to make you understand how The Deep felt watching Ashley and Homelander eat seafood.
Everybody saying Homelander is evil, Cassandra is psycotic, and yet the Deep fought HARD to go back to this life. He was free, with a more than decent job and still he's happy to be back. He really is the most pathetic of the bunch.

The most scariest and intresting part about Homelander isn’t about how evil he is. But how realistic of a person he truly is. There are genuine people like Homelander who do terrible shit off the cameras but are still idolized and valued.

He was on Gossip Girl for years as Nate, Serena's ex boyfriend. He was so sauve on that show so his range is amazing that he can depict the deep so well. I like him, I hope his character survives.

Between seasons 2 and 3, he went to jail after he assaulted a chef at a restaurant, punching him repeatedly, and at some point, there was shattered glass involved in which Starr either smashed against someone or something or threw at full force at someone or something!
For the record, every innocent person in the area is thankfully apparently fine (physically) after this incident!
But yes, Starr would be in prison right now if he wasn't rich and famous. In fact, apparently at the police station, he repeatedly threatened the arresting officers by, "Do you know who I am?"
It's all enough to make you wonder, is he just playing himself and that just happens to fit with such a narcissistic and reckless sociopath of a character?

The fact that the octopus is named Timothy and there was a famous song about cannibalism from the '60s called Timothy about survivors of a cavein that seem well fed when rescued but where is their friend, Timothy? The band that recorded that song was called the Buoys, ironically.
The first time I watched this I was laughing and crying at the same time like damm, I know the Deep is messed up but here I just felt sorry

Homelander as a character was the first person i ever truly analyzed. his human need for love, his god complex, and his closest connections being torn from him (which was a move I didnt really like since it served as his fatal flaw, but oh well) make for a super interesting character with layers to what he does and why

Re-watching this after reading up on the history of the song "Timothy" really makes me wonder if this is an elaborate Easter Egg from the writers room.
Most octopus die after mating the female after the eggs hatch but the male shortly after mating. So Tim woulda been dead before any of his kids we be swimming about.
The boys is the only super "heroes" show i can truly enjoy without losing brain cells.

If his communication is telepathically he could have simply told Tim he was just going to swallow him whole and then safely vomit him out soon after.
That’s not how it works. In order for Timothy to survive, he’d have to ingest a ton of water to not only dilute the stomach acid, but to also create an environment Timothy could temporary stay in.
