  • An estimated 43 million Americans will receive student debt relief, with the Biden administration saying the details on how to get it will be announced in early October. It's welcome news to lots of borrowers, like Mary Dunne, who owes $60,000 in loans. "The $5,600 that I'm paying towards my student loans every month is money I can be filtering into the economy," she said.

Does this relief come off of the principal?

maybe the rest of us should just reduce our gross income by 10k when we file our 2022 taxes. This is simply another democrat plan to buy votes.

Of course Cruz is behind blocking it. Leave people alone. We all have our own roads to learn life lessons. Help these kids get rid of this debt so they can foxus on making this world a better place. They have a lot of great ideas and a ton of time to figure it out for themselves.

Most countries in the developed world have FREE State Funded education, except us. Baby Boomers were enabled subsidized education to get anyone who wanted to go, could get there. This LIFTS THE POOR & offers opportunities. These KIDS shouldn’t lose out on education because Americas is filled with corruption and greed.

So anyone that actually is making payments but consolidated their loan to private to lower some crazy interest rate isn 't getting anything. Even though it was once a pell grant or a federal student loan and actually is making payments is being punished and not getting anything? That's real fair, better do some serious work on this. This country always seems to leave half it's people out.

Student debt is not about irresponsible young people taking out more loans than they'll be able to pay back.
It's about a corruption cycle between loan companies, lobbyists, and our lawmakers, designed to make them rich and powerful - AT YOUR EXPENSE.

That's nice that you did. Congratulations 🎊 How long did it take you? What advice can you give for exactly HOW you paid it off. People like you boast about being able to do that while being inconsiderate of other people's circumstances and backgrounds. Maybe someone had a life changing incident or financial change that limits/limited them in what they are able to do. Don't give any BS about they should have thought about it before going to school because this country preaches too much about everyone having a RIGHT to EDUCATION.
