The word nshima is actually the Zambian English name. The name of nshima in the Bemba language to which Bwalya the restaurant owner is from, is ubwali. So it is the same pronunciation as the Kenyani ugali, the only difference is the first two letters & the first three in the Zambian word. Ubwali - syllables pronunced as Uu-bwa-li.

All organic. Zambia is only one of two African countries that doesn’t allow GMO food. It sneaks in with processed food imported from South Africa. Traditional food is pretty much 100% organic. To be honest that’s what saved us (and other Africans) from being wiped out by COVID (except South Africa where most of their food is GMO and/or full of chemicals).

And also I remember one time in Curaçao a friend of my work invited me at his home and they offered me a delicious lunch with fish, funchi (cooked cornmeal) with plenty fried plantains. I was waiting for them to come and join me, but my food started to get cold, so I started eating and after that I still did not see them so I brought my plate to the kitchen and saw them all sitting on the floor enjoying their food eating with their hands, I told them I could not wait any longer for them and they answered me we are sorry not to join you cause we eat with our hands...so great to see you Americans adjusting to their culture, I wish I could be there too👏😍

@@africaine4889 that's not true. Zambia has not been separated from Congo by colonisation. It's clear your parents/grandparents didn't talk to you about your history. Zambians who have roots in Kongo, (and i say 'Kongo' because that was once the name of the large area which included Congo and part of Angola. ) migrated themselves to get away from the King or other reasons like disagreements with others. No white man was involved with that migration 🙄 and it happened before they discovered that part of Africa. Not all Zambians have that ancestry. We are a mix of Soth African ancestry, etc. We may have similarities but you can't claim Zambian culture is exactly like Congolese. You can always pick the difference between a Zambian and Congolese especially if you're abroad.

Honestly I cannot get enough of your channel!! You truly appreciate everything you see and eat!! Love it! You should definitely take a trip through Zimbabwe, dishes are similar, English is spoken throughout the country aswell. I would suggest not just seeing the capital but exploring Victoria falls of of course and if you can the eastern highlands, some of the most beautiful views in Southern Africa. You are guaranteed to enjoy. I would suggest linking up with a local RUclips’s named Mr Zim to show you around, he’s great too!
    Loving your vlogs!😊
