Useful video explanation. Everybody is focusing on turns but personally I love desplazamientos (aka walks for me) as I find them fun and playful during dancing. I would love to see more videos from you on this topic. Thank you for all the info you provide us.
I never thought this video was gunna get the engagement is has been getting in just a day, which for my small channel, has been quite a bit. Who knew desplazamientos would get people talking 💁♂️ But... if that's what ppl want, absolutely.
Although I am not dancing salsa anymore but I love watching your videos. Slasa dances who find your channel are really lucky. Thanks for all the efforts you put to make those videos :) cheerz from Sweden
Good video! Leaders can fall into the trap of focusing too much on the two-handed figures (I do this as well) but I've noticed that really good social dancers actually use a lot of desplazamientos and one-handed turns (in endless variations). I want to expand my repertoire of desplazamientos and break out of my usual one-handed turn routines.
Just a small question man, what is the difference exactly between casino and timba while dancing? I think it is only in the music, old cuban music is casino, new cuban music is timba, is that correct?
My quick answer is that casino describes the way son (the dance) was danced by a particular generation starting mid century. Timba describes an evolution of son (the music).
