Honestly, in comparison to the Amazing Spider-Man movies and the MCU Spider-Man movies, the old school Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy will always be the best movie series about Spider-Man. Plain and simple, and really say what you want about Spider-Man 3 but at least I can sit down, watch it and have a great, fun & enjoyable time watching it that's more than I can say for the aforementioned Reboots.

Markus Nashorn yeah I think all the villains become good at the end goblin was fighting to come back out of Norman then makes the glider fly tho Peter then Norman comes back out and does not want harry to know peter helped kill him and did not want to broke the brotherhood of them

Spider-Man 3 was never a bad film to me. It wasn't as good as the other two, but it never intended to be. Cut out Venom, focus on Harry and Marco. Brock should have been the villain for Spider-Man 4.
    Spider-Man 1 is about responsibility.
    Spider-Man 2 is about identity.
Spider-Man 3 is about forgiveness and revenge.
Spider-Man 4 could've been about consequence for past actions.
Hell, Spider-Man 5 could've even about moving on, the end of Spider-Man.
I honestly think that was the plan. It would be a beautiful and amazing story of forgiving yourself for the mistakes you've made.
Making a mistake, trying to fix it, figuring out who you want to be, learning about that person, considering revenge or forgiveness, facing the consequences of your actions, taking responsibility and moving on.
Uncle Ben's death was Peter's fault. Spider-Man was him trying to make up for it. But he learned that it change the person he was and so he had to choose who he wanted to be. Then that person became corrupted and took revenge. He realised his mistake and tried to redeem himself by saving the people he hurt. He failed.
Then his biggest mistake comes and is out to completely destroy him, not as Spider-Man but as Parker. Brock could've been that villain. The one to really make Peter hurt. The one to take away someone he cared for and put him in the same position as last time, but this time without an excuse for his actions. And he'd choose to take responsibility. Brock would listen and Venom wouldn't. Brock would sacrifice himself to kill Venom, showing Peter that forgiveness isn't an option for everyone.
Spider-Man 5 would be about an ageing Spider-Man, one that's stopped joking and is ruthless. It would reflect Peter's loss of a personal life after MJ drifted away due to Spider-Man. Which villain he faced, would be an embodiment of a previous hero that lost themselves. Something that Peter is teetering on the edge of. However the film went, whichever villain there was would tell Peter to save himself. And Peter would have to make a choice.
The overarching theme of Sam Rami's Spider-Man films was choice. That's why I think this could've been one of, if not the best superhero franchise ever.

Lewis Davidson id argue that Rami’s Spider Man Trilogy is the best superhero trilogy/franchise ever created because of the messages in each movie but they’re also life lessons. The trilogy did so many things right and the storytelling was fantastic. This trilogy is still my all time favorite movie franchise. These movies are so relatable, Spider Man/Peter Parker is meant to be a relatable character for teenagers and even young adults which is what makes it stand out for me compared to other superhero movies.

Instead, what if eddie brock become the only villain in the third movie.focusing the movie on peter,mj,and harry love triangle and eddie brock.then,in the 4th movie focusing about spiderman finding that he confront the wrong person and uncle ben killer is still out there and the conclusion of peter and harry relationship.

Film was supposed to be a 2 parter initially, but its said they couldn't find where to end the 1st part without leaving too man threads, which I find ridiculous. all they had to do was end the film on the church scene. Boom. Instant hype for 4 and they could've given Eddie, Black-Suited Peter and Harry the time and arc development they needed for it to be good. Have most of 4 be Eddie stalking Peter and dealing with his new powers, like in the novelization, KEEP HIS ORIGINAL DEATH BECAUSE REVENGE LITERALLY CONSUMING HIM SITS THE THEME MORE, and BAM, instant classic.

The Legend 45 A lot of effort and thought goes into these scripts so I feel we as a audience should do everything to understand them. Sandman being Ben's killer has so much meaning to Peter's arc that this video didn't even scratch the surface of it. This video while good actually made one misconception, Venom was not a mistake.
Listen to this story all about revenge, forgiveness and overcoming one's inner demons and tell me Venom and the symbiote didn't fit. Peter is the main antagonist, Eddie is his dark mirror while the symbiote represents his inner demons. When Eddie and the symbiote bond, when Peter's dark mirror and the representation of his inner demons merge, you get Venom the personification of his inner darkness and everything wrong he's ever done. Peter's story in SM 3 is nowhere near as powerful without Venom. Venom was the right choice for the movie.

Trent Osborne I agree perfectly my guy

    • @rmsgrey

They did a good job of tying together the Venom story, the Sandman story and the Green Goblin story into a coherent movie, but that doesn't mean that it's as good as the movie would have been with only 2 of the three villains.
Venom for Peter is about power without responsibility - the suit makes him much stronger, but takes away the things that make him a hero. It's only when Venom bonds with Brock that revenge comes into the villain's character. And even when bonded with Brock, the symbiote's attitude toward Parker is more complex than seeking revenge - yes, it's angry with him for rejecting it, but what it wants is to be reunited with him - to be the black-suit Spiderman again. Venom stories are about Spiderman's relationship with his inner darkness, not about revenge and forgiveness.

I also like this movie a lot. Not in the same league as the first two, but still successful to me. Yeah, there are spotty moments, (and I personally think the critcism of the dance scenes are an overreaction and they aren't out of place compared to the rest of the trilogy), but I think the film succeeds because in the end Rami makes you care for these characters, and is able to create a film with a clear message. If only they didn't have three villains running around in this movie >_>.
Also people bash this film, but ignore all the problems Marvel films have on a regular basis. Especially the Iron Man movies.

I always thought the very last scene was great, it's a bold choice to end a superhero movie with something so quiet and emotional. It really wouldn't have felt right to have the final scene be Spidey swinging through New York in this case. MJ and Peter went through so much in their relationship during the film, and they lost a friend. Seeing them back together, not saying a word ,feels like they both made their way back home.

Gassy Yeah The people wanted venom. Which made the studio want venom to make more money. So they forced sams hand. You can tell this was meant to be the end of a arc. A series of full circles. Sandman was Peter personal arc. Sandman was the man to actually kill ben. Whether you like it or not. Peter would have to deal with this. Harry has been building up for this. Becoming the new green goblin. This movie still probably be not as good as 2 but at least it would have a better structure.

It would have been rushed and would feel broken just like the third movie, Sam knew what to do, that's why the first two were amazing, because Sony didn't force him to do anything he didn't want to, any weird ideas like Black Cat being the daughter of Vulture were from Sony, not him, he quit because he didn't want to disappoint the fans again, and he did the right thing, thanks to him, Spidey is in the MCU now, he was the best director Spidey has ever had imo.

So the dancing to the jazz after getting a new black wardrobe and stuff is Peter Parker trying to act cool as a dorky guy, so it intentionally is cringy because we like the people who aren't Peter in the movie, see him differently than he sees himself.

But if that was what they wanted, they could have made spiderman 3 in 2 parts which was an actual plan idea from one of the team member (writer maybe) but the studio Sony and stupid Arad didn't agree with that aswell so that's what you get if you don't let the director do its job.

My idea is to spread the story over two movies. Part one would could give venom and the Sandman better origins, Peter wearing the black suit for longer while he gradually gets darker, and Harry plotting revenge on Peter. At the end of that movie Peter would defeat Sandman and get rid of the symbiot which would then in the cliffhanger ending go to... Harry! In part 2, Harry would initially use it in his revenge, but from the symbiot he would learn Peter's point of view about what really happened to his father and decide to make peace. However, the suit won't let him so he is forced to rip it off, at which point it goes to Eddie. Heroic sacrifice from Harry at the end which allows Peter to win.
It's only a rough idea, but I think it's an improvement on the actual movie!

Your video HAS to be popular soon! To open people's eyes who hated the third, I've been paying close attention to this movie and what is important, Peter got bullied, Peter lost his uncle, found out that the green goblin is his best friend's dad and witness his death, friendship breaking down, relationships downfall, his favourite mentor and professor Doc Ock, sacrificed himself, best friend turning enemies, changes in Peter's body and personality, only to come back normal after hitting MJ. That is when he stops for a minute and realizing what he is and truly, who he is. He is Spiderman, his name is Peter Parker, and he's just a guy from Queens who stepped up to be a hero and be with the love of his life. After defeating his enemies, what really tore him up completely, the death of his only best friend. MJ and Peter made a promise together which some people missed or don't care and just like to make jokes and memes about the movie, but it's not really that bad. This was in fact was a sad but perfect ending for the trilogy, seriously.
    (Thanks for listening to this.)

I always found the dance scene entertaining. It’s like, Peter Parker is trying to be all dark and mysterious but it just shows he’s still a nerd and a geek.

Topher Grace did make for a good weasel type character that would lie and cheat to get what he wants. But I think my problem was that when he became Venom, his performance was exactly the same. Even when he says "I like being bad, it makes me happy" cementing himself as the only complete monster in the series, it just kind of fell flat for me.
That being said, you did make an interesting case for this movie regarding the good and bad in everyone and what happens to Mary Jane throughout the movie. Honestly, if this movie had less storylines going on at the same time, it could've been good movie. But with so much crammed int, the good ideas got drowned out.

Not to mention the ending also ties in with the theme of mercy and forgiveness. Peter outstretches his hand as an apology for everything, and MJ takes it.

The directors cut is THE way to watch SP3 and Rami never wanted Venom in the film at all. Sony pushed it on him. Also Rami would have made a 4th film but Sony was already pushing him and writers around with having even more villains in the movie so Rami gave up and said “go ahead with your reboot like you want Sony.”

Wow, thanks for the analysis! I like this movie a lot more now. Really, the only main problem I saw was it felt too "far out" compared to the others. While the first has his friend's father go crazy and kill people, the second has his mentor go crazy and kill people, the third is space goop falls randomly and conveniently right near Peter.

Back in the day, I actually liked this movie more than the second one. Yes, people claim it's cheesy with the dance scene, but to me that was a good indication that the filmmakers were actually having fun with the cheese. Versus 2 when I couldn't tell if the cheese was intentional when I was younger. I hated the kid picking up Peter in the fire staircase, I hated a lot of the extras, and I hated how he magically got his powers back. But since then, I've had a change of heart and see the craftsmanship of the second movie, and realize that the third one probably had too many characters. I still think people who think that the third movie is way more cheesy than the first two are slightly ridiculous, though.

Raimi DID NOT want Venom at all. He stated in interviews he didn't understand the character and therefore wasn't going to be able to do it justice. Sony execs made Raimi put Venom because they knew people loved him. And even with all the wackiness that the movie turned into it's still a decent film. But it's easy to see that Venom was the weakest part, with Eddie Brock being even worse and that's what really brought this movie down.

6:23 to 7:16 This beautiful thingI understood this properly back in 2007 when I was an 8 year old kid. Which is why even when I watched it 10 years later, I could'nt call this movie bad. Tobey Macguire + Sam Raimi was a deadly combo and trust me, NO ONE could create a better spiderman trilogy than these 2. If they worked with today's VFX plus the MCU crossover, they would've gone much much ahead but FUCK SONY!

All I want to know is 3:51 How the hell did Harry sneak into Marry Jane's room on a loud glider from a presumably smaller window (she left it open while she wasn't at home which is stupid in my opinion) reaches out to grab her neck, right in front of her from at least 2-3 meters from the window while jump scaring her at the same time?

People complained about two villains in this movie but if you think about who would peter fight once he got the black suit or if sandman was the only villian the fight scenes wouldn't be that great without the help of venom
