I am pretty sure just showing the virus paint only, is intentional, the doppel description states that the doppel itself hides it's true form and that Alina thinks the fever paint is the real body. On the other hand it also states that it sprouts from her back , either it's invisible or camouflaged or it hides somewhere else in anime. Eitherway it's just one of the things that happen when adapting to one medium to another.
For all i know (and based on what the wiki says) her doppel does indeed have a physical form, and it's somewhere hidden behind her back, even Alina thinks her doppel is the fever paint
I love Alina Gray. She's not the greatest character created but her design is great and her insanity is an interesting put in this world of magic and horrors, I wish it would have been done better. The song playing in this meme vid is a perfect representation of what Alina is.
Not a fan of this moment in the anime. There was no build up for this moment. Alina's character was done really dirty in the anime. I thought they were building up something interesting because of how thoughtful she looked in season 2. But if there was ever something in mind they threw everything through the window for this. In the end it looks like they just wanted to make her do something cool and evil even if it made no sense for her to do this in the anime. (and they baited me with Karin's shadow and Alina's wholesome smile in the intro...) Now that I'm done ranting: Nice vid. XD
I honestly didn’t like Alina much at first. I found her annoying. However, her big reveal as the true villain of the season, betraying Magius, and the absorption of the supposed final boss, Eve, made her more likeable twist villain.
