DJ (Columbus Short), an amazing underground street dancer, hasn't been in college for a day before he's entranced by a lovely co-ed, April (Meagan Good).Working as a gardener to pay the bills, DJ doesn't fit in with the wealthier students around campus, but one thing does catch his attention -- the rival fraternity competitions known as "stepping." With April's help, DJ learns about the legacy and heritage behind the fraternities and decides to join up. Now part of an official step group, DJ must balance rehearsals, work, and school, while at the same time winning the heart of the girl of his dreams. With the National Step Championship drawing closer, DJ must learn to stop dancing as an individual, and to start stepping as part of a team.

@@CharlieSheenIsFired Most of the antagonist characters/groups have better routines then the main stars. Only a few routines where they come out on top but the backups actually have legit dance experience so they know how to move better. I agree, his was better.

It's Just Like The Need For Speed Movie When The British Female Was In The Hospital & All His Friends Was Using An Ipad To Watch The Race But When The Guy Goes In Trying To Do The Same Pit Move That He Done To Pete Every One Had A Physical Reaction To What Was Impossible For Them To See Unless They Were There In The Car About To Get Pitted! his purpose was to piss off grant, his message to him was "im better than you asshole", DJ had the battle in his pocket since the beginning, its obvious that grant didn't too much battles by the otherside DJ was a experienced Underground dancer, remember he was leader of Goon squad and the 2nd best of his crew,meanwhile Grant was just a "good dancer" but DJ knew that he was more a posser (he said that like 3 times) not a dancer so probably grant didnt have DJ experience as battler
