I agree keep it simple, lal mirch, haldi, daniya powder, lassan. Thats all I use and get great results. When I feel fancy I use ginger and little bit of garam masala.

Chef Saadat, congrats! After many many years I hear alu gosht surba. It is still made at my place nowhere do I see them now it's all fusion food all around. You’re right Saadat bhai it does look like butter chicken. I saw my mother frying spices after onion is fried & removed from the pot( to grind with Yogurt separately) thereby taking care of strong smell of haldi. But you’re right everyone love their mothers cooking due to her love they received in childhood.
