  • IHHP artists Jess, Billy, Tina, Mike N and Tim visited Palm Island as part of the 2017 Palm Island Spring festival to facilitate dance workshops in preparation for performances over the two days of festivities. The Palm Island Spring Festival is a celebration of Bwgcolman 'Many Tribes, One People' with an incredible two day line up of multicultural performances and showcases with local stalls, fresh produce, carnival rides and all things to celebrate, whilst being set in the stunning Sapper Park along the foreshore. IHHP was lucky enough to work with the St Michaels School and the Bwgcolman Primary and Highschool plus the local PCYC from Monday to Wednesday prepping numerous dance routines for the youth to showcase during the hip hop segments of the festival over Thursday and Friday. This documentary follows our crew during their time spent on palm Island and gives you an incredible insight into the festival and local stories about their heritage, culture and tradition which is celebrated and kept strong and alive. 'Looking forward to looking back'.
HUGE special thanks to Ciara and Murielle who without this wouldn't have been possible, The Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council, the festivals Sponsors, St Michaels Catholic School, Bwgcolman Primary & Highschool and everyone from Palm Island/Bwgcolman who made us so welcome!! Shout out to Aunty Cathie the best driver ever!!
