Thanks for such a nice comment! Yeah it's wild. The 1824 Vagrancy Act I think is still actually law in Britain or was until less than 10 years ago. I remember it picked up traction in the media/politics a couple years ago and there was discussion around repealing it, but then the replacement the government came up with was also really bad.
One part of my family tree ends in a london workhouse, generations away from the rhondda miners and work exodus around south wales. Society needs 'asylum' for it's citizens. Great video. Ta.

One of the things about the research I mentioned in the video but didn't have time to go further into is that the disproportionate coverage of crimes actually contributed heavily to a societal panic about crime which actually brought the death penalty back after having been abandoned for decades. It got pretty wild.
