Before I started reading the bible I walked with god for years, only by imagination work and have real personal experience with the creator. Real personal relationship with god is more important than being religious.
The Fathers and contemporary saints of the Church specifically pray that Ignatian practices and imagination and prayer ultimately leads to prelest and mental illnesses.

People often don't get how things really are, so they use their imagination to fill in the gaps of what they don't know. But using imagination just to deal with stuff usually ends up causing more problems. How do you think relying on imagination to understand things we don't know might lead to more challenges instead of solving them?

Jesus payed a great price for our healing AND wealth! He became poor so we could be rich! Also God said; it is not good for man to be alone! These things are our rights and inheritance not a question about if we need it! God also says He delights in gi ing us the desires of our hearts/our wants! What Father wouldn't?🙂
@@gitakent2717 “He became poor so that we could be rich” is not talking about financial wealth. “God became man so that man might become gods. He left his 99 sheep and went into the mountains to find the one sheep that left the others. Similarly through the Incarnation of Christ, we become partakes of the Divine by grace.
@@gitakent2717 Yes, it is not good for man to be alone. What would it be if the Son of Man was not married to the Church? But some are not chosen for Marriage, they may be chosen for monasticism or something else. God gives his creatures crosses that are in capacity with their own ability.

Your example of Jesus wanting a sigarett from this young man completely ruined the whole lesson of imagination! It was very distracting. Jesus would never do that! Ergo, this whole imagination exercise becomes very questionable! One is simply not free to imagine what ever one wants and call it ok or effective or Godly!
