"Is Spirituality a Solution to the Economic Problems of Today?" A Talk by Dr Soheil Abedian

The Gold Coast Baha'i Community in Australia hosts information evenings that seek to explore a Baha'i perspective on topics that relate to the life of society. In this talk titled "Is Spirituality a Solution to the Economic Problems of Today?", Dr. Soheil Abedian explores alternative economic models that narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.
Dr. Soheil Adedian holds a Masters degree in architecture from Graz University and an honorary doctorate from Bond University. He is the founder and executive chairman of Sunland Group Limited, an Australian development company. Dr. Abedian is also the chairman of the Adedian Foundation and the Sunland Foundation, which conduct philanthropic educational, research and health work.

Good to hear Dr. Aberdian give the Bahai views of values along with inequality data. My background predisposed me to work for eco-social justice, and then research green and social business in the US, along with my interfaith spiritual path. I´ve gone on and learned about Greenpeace and Oxfam and more, and in the US, food co-op supermarkets. The co-op business model was invented in the 1840s, and has a strong international presence. I identify as an Interfaith Unitarian Universalist Quaker Christian, aka Gandhian, and am interested in learning about the Bahai.

A wonderful exploration of what is our life measured by? What are some of the key principles that can transition our economic system towards a more just distribution? What is the fundamental spirit that will permeate the economic life bring about an ideal condition of global prosperity? Not only is spirituality a solution to the economic problems ,it is also the solution to our political problems, nutritional problems, environmental problems etc etc etc. And it is the only solution. The Bahai New world order is clearly humanities only hope and it worries me that the mainstream have already started to confuse people with their materialistic New world order.

Abdulbaha also says if you deserve a 100billion in the case of Jeff Bezos because you worked hard for it or invented something that's good for humanity or have given people jobs then that's justice. But be philanthropic too.

I'm not sure giving people jobs at minimum or just over the minimum wage when the cost of rent is over 50% if not 100% of your paycheck and having them work 60 plus hours a week not allowing for proper bathroom break is just undoubtedly it could be argued that it's a better life then not being a able to obtain proper health care and being forced into homelessness and being born into a world of poverty from what she can never escape but don't be fooled what looks pretty on the outside is usually rotten on the inside
