    I was born in 88. But when I was old enough to comprehend basketball, Shawn Kemp and Michael Jordan had the coldest highlights to me. Those Sonic jerseys are forever memorable.

      @@righteousmasculine so many choose Vince over Kemp, but I could never. In my opinion watching both even watching Dominique growing up. I feel Kemp was the most electrifying dunker of all time. The way he demoralized a player and had the stadium in pandemonium! And I was a die hard Bulls/MJ fan. That Sonics team was nothing to play with.

    Of all the superstars of that era, Shawn Kemp was my favorite player. Was so sad he never got a ring, but he was still one of the most dynamic power forwards to ever play the game.

Although he definitely played in an easier no hand checking era but Blake was a beast for a while also. Both should get credit for their all around game and not just the dunks.

      Never 1st Team All NBA. Only averaged 20 points a game once. A big man who shot 45% from the field throughout his career. Naw.....he was very entertaining and athletic as hell but HOF material? I say no.

    I was a huge fan of his back in the 90's. When I was kid all I wanted to be was like him. When everybody wanted to be like Mike and Bo, I wanted to be like KEMP. I MISS MY SONICS. Now that I'm 40 years old and I'm watching this, brings back so many memories of the Reign Man. Salute!

    Anytime you revolutionize or change the game in any way that was one of the Hallmarks to being a Hall of Famer it's not always just about the numbers. Shawn Kemp was a human highlight film and brought excitement and facet of the game that everyone look forward to seeing.

    Kemp was a straight BEAST!
    I'm from Seattle and was a kid in the 90's. Kemp & Payton were always exciting to watch. So proud of that team we need our Sonics back. 💯

    Kemp was a human highlight reel. Fearless on fast breaks and in the paint. Rain man and Glove made up one of the most dangerous and prolific duos in basketball in the late 80s - early 90s!! He definitely deserves a HOF nod!!

    I thought he was already in. Buddy was a straight up MONSTER out on the court. He dominated out there. He is overlooked by many younger folks today. Holy cow he was fun to watch when I was a boy back then. I went to both of the ‘94 playoff games in Denver (first 8seed over a 1 seed), so I got to see the Reign Man play in person! So even as a Nuggets fan, I want to see Shawn Kemp be honored in the Hall of Fame!

      Unfortunately, the partying took its toll and he drank and ate himself out of the league. The Reign Man 👨🏾 is one ☝🏾 of the favorite 🤩 players of all time. Once Seattle moved to Oklahoma City 🏙️, so did my support. Seattle Hall of Fame, absolutely 👍🏾. NBA Hall of Fame? Doesn’t have the numbers or years.

    I agree. I remember when Shawn Kemp and Shaq being in the Olympics together was 💯 % complete dominance. They were unstoppable. I felt sorry for their opponents.

    Heres a point to consider- player like Kemp may not have a chip, or top the Stat pages, but how Exciting & fun was this guy to watch !?! How much impact he had to us the fans ! Thats a huge part of what the League represents- drawing fans. That Sonics fanbase Exploded when he was catching bodies.

    Kemp deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. He brought so much emotion and joy to the game of basketball during his time in the league. He inspired countless young people to pick up a basketball and go out and play. He was the definition of "power" forward.

    Yes, his impact on the sport and the culture during his playing career was extremely elite!! If I'm not mistaken, he also came straight outta high school 2 the league.       I didn't want to admit it but they are right. I had to look up Kemp's stats then compare them to the other Hall of Fame power forward stats and Kemps are not HOF-worthy. The closest his came to was Pau Gasol and Pau got two rings, multiple years scoring 20+ PPG. Kemp only has one year scoring 20 PPG.
      Man, even Blake Griffins career stats are more impressive than Kemp's. And that's who we compared to Kemp...this one hurt cause I want to see him in the HOF. His stat line just ain't enough

    Id take a PF like Kemp over every true PF in the NBA today except giannis, AD, and Sabonis. Kemp was great both sides of the ball.

      I'm taking him over Sabonis and probably AD too because at least he's not afraid to get physical. He was a young man playing grown man basketball against real grown men. AD benefits from the floor being spaced, Kemp put his back to the basket and banged with the best of the best.
