I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and RUclipsr who's been to 61 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This marked the start of my efforts to turn vlogging into a full-time job.
After that European trip I explored much of Asia: visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
I've travelled to North America just once as a RUclipsr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. I then visited the Caribbean for the first time, covering the Dominican Republic, before heading to both Brussels and Amsterdam, then covering Taiwan and the Philippines in Asia. I finished off the year with a trip around Morocco.
I started my travels in 2023 by finally visiting Paris, taking the Eurostar from London. I then headed over to Qatar for a few days, before heading to Asia, with videos following from India, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Mongolia, Thailand and Sumatra (Indonesia).

KL is my favourite city that I have been to having been there 6 times already and I've seen many great cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Rome, Lisbon, Barcelona, Tokyo, NY, Florence, Jakarta, Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Athens, Madrid, Cairo and more but KL is definitely my No.1
That’s quite a compliment!
KL is the 6th most visited city in the world now. Only time will tell and perhaps with people like you, that it will make the city break into the top 5 globally.
@@leealex24 Trust me, it is an amazing city rich with culture, history, modern, greenery - it has everything. I am planning to retire in KL as well = want to get away from the horrible cold weather in England
@@JasonBillamTravel Thanks Jason. Didn't include London since we are both from England and I lived/worked in London for 10 years myself. I am hoping to retire in KL too
@@brothersman524 We should switch please. I hate the humidity 😅
I am heading to Kuala Lumpur for the first time in a few days. I am very excited. Thanks for the video.
Remember if you are near Pavilion there is bridge or tunnel that take you to KLCC petronas twin towers avoiding all traffic.
Great, thanks for the advice!!
@@AdventureswithEdward I wish i knew that on first days, glad to help. Ask any security guy at pavilion they will guide you 😊👍🏻
Welcome.
It's monsoon, so it rains everyday.
Plan your itinerary. Bring an umbrella.
Enjoy and have fun.
Do not forget to try the following:

2. Roti Canai
3. Ramly burger - all stalls offer different servings and flavours.
4. Jalan TAR Saturday Night market
5. Cham Tea (coffee + tea) / Cendol
6. Fried Koay Teow
7. Nasi Kandar
8. Rice to Wednesday (Nasi Ke Rabu)
9. and many many more.......

It’s indeed a beautiful city.
I visited KL in 2010. Loved the mix of cultures.
KL is the 6th most visited city in the world now. Only time will tell and perhaps with people like you, that it will make the city break into the top 5 globally.
That’s interesting to know. It’s a great travel hub to spend a few days in.
Yeah, so many RUclipsrs promote KL it will be even more popular soon.
it was my first trip to Malaysia in January this year and i came from Bangkok to KL. First days for me it was a bit to different compare to all the other Cities in SEA and i didńt like it at this time. Everything was new and so clean i missed the chaos from BKK or Phnom Penh for example. But meanwhile a few days later i begun to love KL and the country with the lovely people there so much so thats so difficult to say what is my favorite country now in SEA, but i can say that Malaysia is on the way to the Best there for my in personal
Btwn bangkok and kl which one did you like?
@@brendagitonga8040 i like both cities a lot

Even the back alleys look clean & orderly..

KL is a unique city. It combines nature with modernity and traditional, various local races with western life styles, and just suites each class and religion. I love it.
Malaysia has something for everyone
With its unique blend of history creativity and style this dynamic city is sure to leave a lasting impression

Welcome to Malaysia.. I hope you are enjoying your stay.. do ask around if you have problems.
Always good to see you in South East Asia. Yeah, Petaling isnt that much for me either. But Malaysian food is really good.
Thanks James, glad I’m not alone on Petaling. The food is to die for!
If you wanna check out a variety of Malay food, take the LRT to Kampung Baru. There’s A LOT of interesting dishes especially from Kelantan and Terengganu 😊
Kampung Baru is such a good recommendation indeed😍❤🇲🇾 full of flavours and street food.
Hi Jason, new subscriber here and glad to know that you will visit Borneo one day. Kuching and Kota Kinabalu are 2 small cities on Malaysian Borneo but the tropical rainforest is the highlight here. People come here to enjoy the nature and the wild life. You will enjoy it, cheers!
What is best time to visit Borneo?
Drier season is from March to October. I say drier because occasional rain is unpredictable. If you like to attend cultural festivals, Sabah celebrates Harvest Festival on 30 & 31 May, and Sarawak celebrates Gawai Day on 1June.
Welcome back. Love your travel videos.
Thanks!
Wow, such quality video, very informative and a beautiful city.
I was from KL and now in UK. You are so lucky to travel and see places.
Singapore is expensive and KL is cheaper. Lovely food makes me hungry.
I can't wait to go back and visit. Thank you.
KL and Malaysia as a whole, the MOST EXCITING country on the planet!
And in b4 the doubters, no I'm not Malaysian 🙂
kl is very underrated. i say this as a new yorker

Terima kasih dari Malaysia🇲🇾
Absolutely wonderful. Welcome back to KL, Malaysia. Thank you for this video. Happy New Year 2024 to you.
Have you considered visiting the states in the east coast of peninsular Malaysia and also seriously consider visiting Sabah and Sarawak in Borneo.
Wonderful building and nice trip I am your fan thank for your share to the world !
You must visit this beautiful town called Dabong in the Kelantan state of Malaysia. It’s a hidden paradise.
tq for revisiting 🇲🇾. safe flight back home 🛫
History whispers from ancient mosques and modern marvels stand tall, reminding you that KL is a city of contrasts. I climedb the Batu Caves for blessings and brag about it on Instagram, then snap a selfie with the Petronas Towers for good measure. But kidding aside, I just missed the time when I was there filming one of our TV show episode. I am sure, I'm coming back.
Welcome back Jason 😀 Always been a big fan of your channel
Thank you!
Good day Jason, so refreshing to see your videos. You really know what is good Malaysian food. I miss my home cuisine from Malaysia. Wish you a wonderful time in Malaysia. Malaysians love a man like you who is friendly and easy going ❤🎉🎉🎉

6. I’m excited to follow with someone with your experience. You’ve been a great addition to my account !♥️
Happy to hear that!
This is such a nice video, Jason. Through your eyes, KL looks like a vibrant and interesting place 👀
Good advise . Just live like local and enjoy the simple life. Genting is just 30 minutes away to enjoy a cool mountain environment
Welcome and Selamat Datang Jason...Be our Guest...🥰
If you visit Terengganu and Kelantan, you will find a very different dynamic.
Mate, Masjid Jamek is at the intersection of two rivers, Sungai Gombak and Sungai Klang (Sungai=river). That’s how KL got its name ‘muddy confluence’ from these 2 rivers coming together. ‘The River of Life’ is a gov’t initiative to make those rivers cleaner and the communities along them thrive and prosper. Enjoy your vids and pls come again ✌️
Happy New Year, Jason Billam!
Loved all the recent videos . How about exploring the Philippines again
Bro, Bangladesh visit again. You are one of first travell blogger who introduced Bangladeshi natural beauty to world. Love from Bangladesh
Bangladeshi nature is so extraordinary
Great place.I’m a city person. Thanks again John in Chicago
I used to visit the Old China Cafe's sister property called Precious at the Central Market. They have the same menu, including the blue Nasi Lemak. The blue tinge came from the petals of the Butterfly Pea flowers. The petals are steeped in hot water to extract the hue. The same process applies to Nasi Kerabu. Usually,y I'd order the Nasi Lemak with Cincaluk omelette. Fyi, cincaluk is fermented shrimp in a bottle. The blue Nasi Lemak is one of many Peranakan Chinese dishes that one must try, besides the Pong Teh chicken, pineapple prawn curry and Tim Duck.
You should go to the east coast states of Peninsula… delicious food and friendly people.
It's great to see you back in KL albeit for a short stay. My favourite area to stay in is Puduraya, as there is lots to see and do within walking distance. I hope you manage to make your way to Borneo, I loved the Damai Peninsula & Kuching, there was nothing wrong with Kota Kinabalu but I didn't feel it. I missed Brunei as I skipped off to Cambodia (via KL) to meet up with a group of friends, which was actually the highlight of my trip.
Samsung C&T announced on Jan. 11 that it has completed the Merdeka 118 building in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which stands at a height of 679 meters. The building was officially opened on Jan. 10. The second tallest tower in the world
What, did it open already??
Hi Jason awesome video
“Malaysia - where centuries of culture collide in blissful harmony."
Jason, i still remember yr last trip to Malaysia ...
Welcome to our beautiful Malaysia 😊❤🇲🇾🇲🇾
Really enjoyed your Sumatra videos. My recommendation for 2024 travel would be Georgia and Armenia. I have lived in Georgia 6 years, a lot of good vlog material here. Tbilisi, Mestia, Vardzia, etc.
Do come again.. and again to 🇲🇾🥰
He will, its such a awesome place😊

Hi Jason!
.....and I'm still hoping to see a New Zealand trip from you....
KL looks light and cosy, although it's a big city. Thanks for the tour! What about visiting Peru, Botswana or Brazil?
Jason, come to visit Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and explore the islands and highest mountain in SE Asoa
Welcome to Malaysia
More than fifteen years ago, Mini Dhaka is really Little India with many local Indians but now is full of Bangladeshi. Petaling Street and Kota Raya also the same during my childhood but now it seems that place have been taken over by Bangladeshi, Pakistani and so on. I cant feel the local environment anymore.
More locals should move to run those businesses.
Just to inform you Little India is in Brickfields ( near KL Central ) . This area you walking by the road side is an area Mini Dhaka with many Bangaladesh migrant workers.
That MinimDhaka area are homstmany illgal immigrants.
Its KL Sentral not KL Central.
When you return to London, is there a chance you’ll do an episode from there? I’d be fascinating to get your take on London!
Haha
enjoy great country
semoga harimu menyenangkan, salam hangat dari jayapura papua
You may enjoy climbing Mount Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu if you haven't done yet.
Malaysian independence wasn't declared in the Merdeka Square. It was declared in the Merdeka Stadium near the current PNB 118 tower.
Looks cool. Ive only been to Taipei Taiwan.
malaysia is pretty safe, please come visit us here
@@ipkbim scared to travel there on my own. I wasn't alone in Taipei.
welcome home ❤❤❤
My favourite city in the 🌍
There are lots of foreign workers in Malaysia too. I hope you can differentiate the locals and the foreigners too. KL is a favourite city for all nationalities.
Oh looks like you are not newbie tourists, you seem familiar with the demography here. Next time if you visit Malaysia 🇲🇾 again recommend u visit Kampung Baru, Malay hotspot in KL. Also recommend you visit Borneo = Sabah n Sarawak where u can see more diversity of cultural n ethnicity other than Malay(Melayu), Chinese n Indian.
Hi Jason. I see you haven't done the other side of the world Australia and South Pacific. God Bless.
And you can unashamedly eat with your fingers...😅 terbaiklah!
Again Malaysia Jason 😂 first time visit 2018,
Terbaik bro
