Mine was glued in pretty good and I was afraid I would break it, but found the perfect solution. I threaded a long piece of dental floss under the middle and used it back and forth to slice through the glue and easily pull up the glass RFID at the same time.
Dog chewed up my key so bad I couldn't use it. so I bought a new key fob from Ebay for $10 thinking I could save a trip to the dealer. Finally got that little pill out of there. Now I have a new key! Thank you so much!
Thanks. Mine was gunked together crazy tight and I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a step. Gently tapping a spudger along the join opened it just fine.
Hello. What about the opposite? I have a good key but lost the glass Immo for a experiment we did. I know where to buy a new glass Immo, but how to configure that new Immo on the car?
If I want to swap my tuned ECU and cluster to another VW (same motor and year) and I need to swap the chip over to the new car's key, couldn't I just leave the chip in the key body and swap the metal key part from the new car in?
to get the rfid out i used much force with no effort.... solution: heat gun and a toothpick . I used low heat and that sucker fell out with no risk of breaking it like prying cutting or the use of harsh chemicals
So..if i put a chip that works for my car but is from a really old key (97) and put it into a modern after market key it will work? But if i wanted to program the chip that comes with the aftermarket it key it probably wouldn't work because it is newer etc? Thanks!
i noticed you put the chip in in the opposite direction than it was taken out. doesn't it matter? By the way i found out that turning the spring once was enough, and with the new key i had to take off some of the plastic with a dremel to make the chip fit. Regards
So my cousin has a 2007 vw rabbit and she broke her chip in her key fob. I was wondering I found a parts car and it has the key with it . What all parts do I need to swap over to her car from the parts car make it work on her car.. like I know I need the key . But do I need the ignition switch and the computer out of the parts car as well. Hmu up please and thanks
hi friend.. it a good video tahnk you.. i wanna ask you; i have a suzuki GV 2006 3 dr... i wanna do new key, i opened and saw the chip.. PCF7930AS - VCDYNO 27 - Dn05140 which number are important for but this chip from the internet... or after i bought a new chip, will i program new chip for my car?
at 4:44 you mentioned that if my car is 98-00, I don't have to worry about the chip in the car...what does that mean for getting a replacement fob? I can just use my original key blade and put it on a new fob??? If so, then I will just buy the fob and program the open/lock function. Thank you!
My SEAT LEON 2014 1.2L TSI's ECM was damaged due to short in O2 sensors wiring, it's confirmed that my old ECM is faulty and I just bought another ECM from junk same car. Now my car just started for 1-2 seconds and then turned off due to Immobilizer mismatch between second ECM and the car itself. My question is which CHIP I need to replace between two ECMs to match Immobilizer system? which IC stored the Immobilizer code? QUESTION.. Can you remove chip and just glue to ignition area ? Does the chip itself need to be connected to a battery in order to be read by key ? Source truck 2004 touareg thank you !!!
No you don't, the coil in the immobilizer charges this chip when it reads it. You can tape the chip in near the ignition and technically use any key that is cut for your car
@@Belal-Khan how does that work I tried putting mine near the ignition it didn't work my new key didn't come with anything that would hold the black chip in the key
I've just picked up a nice 97 Golf 5 door hatch, except the owner lost the key. So I found a wreck with a set of keys and dismantled the barrel, only to be told the car wont start because the ECU will not recognise the foreign key. What can I do.
+Alf Bittner change your ecu, clocks, keys and ignition barrel for a matching set or go to vw they can get you an immo chip for it either from the chassis number or by going into vcds.
Hi, do you know were i can order a chip for VW Golf IV ? I'm searching for it. It should be 13,56MHz if i guess right. And i want to buy an NFC reader and writer in order to read my new key and write it for a secondary key.

Very helpful video. The dental pick tool was a very good idea and made the swap easy. BIG THANKS!

what's called the silver stainless steel tool that removes the VW emblem from the key
@@DAVDaniel That's just a pick. You can get a set of them with various bent tips for like $2 at Harbor Freight, or still under $10 from Amazon.

At the 9:00 position pry up with a small flat head screwdriver. Works fast.
Thank you! Are you aware if those early B5 Passats (98/99/00) with IMMO2 use the T42 Id48 transponder chip? Thanks!

I did not see this video before and I used a Dremel and a garment steamer to melt the glue and then it basically fell out . This is much easier🤯

What about the immo itself on the lock? Should not we move it too?

99golf tdi won't turn over. Battery good lights /radio work. Remote won't unlock doors. No problem till remote stopped working
DO NOT USE A BLADE TO REMOVE EMBLEM. ON THE 9 O'CLOCK POSITION with key blade facing away PRY WITH SAMLL FLAT SCREW DRIVER
THIS WORKED RIGHT AWAY!! ✅👏👌🙌
If you crack the RFID protection( it's a small " pill" made out of glass ) then you need a trip to the dealer. Ask me how I know. Haha ( dot dot dot )
What would I need when I go to the dealer. Same exact thing happened to me.
Omg I just did it to mine and it's the only key I have
@@karenkemp8985 you can try to put some varnish over it. or crazyglue. to cover the crack.
where do you get an unwritten chip ???
Do it on one thats used not a blank, made it look WAY too easy, its a pain in the ass???

There is no chip behind the emblem or screw
