In order to hopefully get Jack to understand: Ok, so the story is that Pecharunt wanted to take the masks and give them to the old couple who raised it. It, as well as the Loyal Three journeyed to the land of Kitakami and attempted to steal the masks. Ogerpon's original trainer tried to stop them, but the Loyal Three beat him, taking all the masks except for the Teal Mask. Ogerpon found out about this, and then attacked them in order to get the masks back, and get revenge for her fallen friend. Ogerpon beat them all singlehandedly, but the people of Mossui Town saw this fight, and mistakenly thought that Ogerpon was trying to attack the village, with the Loyal Three being the ones to defend it. They managed to make Ogerpon leave, and then dubbed the three with the name "The Loyal Three", believing them to be heroes. When it comes to how Pecharunt's mochi affects people and Pokémon, there's different levels that go beyond just "mochi mochi chicken dance". [Theory Time: This could also be what happens to Kieran in Part 1. While Kieran hasn't eaten mochi, Pecharunt's power may be so strong that when Kieran becomes really greedy and only wants to beat you/befriend Ogerpon, Pecha's power is drawn to him. We even see the same purple aura as the chicken dancers when Kieran punches Loyal 3 shrine, which may have transferred the power and revived the Loyal 3. However, it's not strong enough to control Kieran with purple eyes because Pech is still dormant at Peachy's and, again, he hasn't eaten mochi]. Another level of control is how Pecharunt subdues the Loyal 3, using the mochi to also "draw out [their] capabilities" (again, from Scarlet Dex entry; this explains their described changes in appearance and powers). Here, Pecha doesn't fully control them, just subdues them enough to force them to be 'loyal', that's why they don't have purple eyes. Finally, Pecharunt can gain full control of whomever eats the mochi and directly make them do things like battling you and Kieran, offering mochi with spoken language through Kieran's Grandma Hideko, and, yes, mocking you with the mochi mochi dance. Even "full" control is not really full, since Arven can be seen visibly embarassed by the dance or Nemona still being clear about wanting to battle ("mochi match").
If Pecharunt's mochi increases the dark desires of those who eat it the mochi mayhem and indigo disk make more sense. Though Pecharunt didn't control Kieran the influence was still felt when he punched the Loyal Three monument. The toxicity of the Loyal Three's poison was potent that it increased his drive to the point of obession...like the couple his desires increased dangerously to almost self destruction. But it wasn't his greed it was his envy that increased to the point he was pushing himself and others so hard because he wanted to be stronger than us by any means necessary. His eyes were opened wide the moment we sent Koraidon or Miraidon out to save him from Terapagos. That was the moment that our big sandwich dragon boy truly showed why he is considered a legendary...he stood toe to toe with a Mythical to save someone we as a character cared for one of our other treasures...a treasured friend who needed saving in more ways than one.
I'll try to summarize everything. Pecharunt went after the masks on behalf of the old couple because it wanted love. It corrupted the Loyal Three on the way. The Loyal Three stole the masks, only for Ogerpon to avenge her fallen comrade. The people misunderstood the situation, saw Ogerpon as the villain, and claimed the three stolen masks, leaving Ogerpon with just the titular Teal Mask. (Fun fact: if you look closely at the scene in the Teal Mask when Kieran's grandfather is telling Ogerpon's tale, you can actually see Pecharunt there, and yes, it was always there.) Also, Kieran was not influenced by Pecharunt, just an inferiority complex.

So this whole thing that created the saddening messy history for the Teal Mask DLC story & Mochi Mayhew (still not sure if I should include the Indigo Disk DLC story into this due to people's opinions of Pecharunt's influence ever affecting Kieran) was still all because of the affectionate-greedy Pecharunt & that greedy elderly couple!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {what in the world would an elderly couple want masks for in the first place?!?!?!?!!!!}
I have two theories that the next thing is going to be more DLC or Johto will have its Legends Arceus game and it will have the old people's place and we know that the next game cant be unova cuz the old people live far away probably from paldea
Perhaps its mask gives it more power so that's why it managed to beat those thieves. As remember when we had the Teal Mask & Ogrepon was left w/o a single mask in its hand, it was hopeless against the Loyal 3 & we had to come in to save the ogre.
Yeah no Kieran was not controlled by Pecharunt. Is the fact that Kieran acted this way because he got lied to and got his childhood dream stolen by our character so hard to grasp ? I mean that's one of the reasons. Carmine's toxic mentally abusive behavior is the other. She's clearly overcontrolling (which is a trait shared by a lot of mental abusers), and Kieran was lonely because because she controlled every aspect of his life. She made his life hell and he had no way to escape it. He tells us himself that she does everything for him at school. Everytime he tries to speak up, she yells at him and gives half-worded threats ("if you know what's good for you"). I know it's mentally abusive because I've been through mental abuse from family members for years. What Carmine does is exactly the kind of things they did, and Kieran's reactions are also similar to the way victims of mental abuse act like. But if you're one of the many people who ABSOLUTELY want to deny that she's mentally abusive (even though she absolutely is and it doesn't mean she doesn't care deep down), just stick to "she's toxic". Anyway, because of Carmine's behavior, Kieran was forced to repress his emotions, causing more and more anger, frustration, pain and loneliness to boil inside him as time passed. The only thing that kept him going, the one thing Carmine couldn't take from him is his dream of befriending Ogerpon. When we became his friend, he thought he was gonna escape this situation. That he was gonna finally be able to be happy. Instead, we betrayed him and stole his dream from him. This was the last thing he had to not fully drown in despair and we took it. That was his breaking point. Imagine a balloon that you slowly fill with water. At a certain point, there will be too much water (accidental reference), and the ballon will explode, releasing the water. Kieran is the balloon, and the water is the emotions that he was forced to repress for all these years because of Carmine. After so long of repressing his emotions, they became too much, and he couldn't contain them anymore, causing him to explode and release the anger, frustration and pain that he gathered for all these years. That's what causes his shift in personality in the Indigo Disk. But at the end, we beat him again. His position of Champion was the only thing he had left, and now we took that away from him too. That's why he's grasping after that and focuses so much on Terapagos. In his eyes, it's his only chance at making things right. If he doesn't do it, he'll have nothing left and he won't be able to do anything about it. He's desperate. But then we save his life from Terapagos. This small scene has no dialogue, but it's so powerful. Kieran slowly comes to the realization that we've always been here for him. That's why he can't move while we fight Terapagos. He's overwhelmed with guilt. We were always here for him, and what did he do ? He became blinded by anger and put everyone in danger. He feels so guilty that he feels like if he just takes a step, he'll make things even worse than he already did. Until our character calls out to him. To think that we, this character who is so strong he could never defeat needs HIM as his equal on the battlefield and is ready to put their issues behind and ask for HIS help ? Kieran is reassured, and it's with tears in his eyes that he lets out a huge cry, but not one that expresses his pain, anger and frustration like in the Champion fight, one that releases them once and for all. With these gone, a weight leaves his shoulder and he feels like he can see more clearly now, which gives him the confidence boost we can see in his eyes when he lauches his Pokémon into the battle. Kieran is a incredible character, and I don't ask you to understand everything I explained just by watching the events of the DLC once or twice like I did (I just relate to Kieran's experience a lot so I was able to understand his feelings pretty easily). I mean, some people understood Carmine's depth easily while it took me more time because I despise her. And I still do even if I understand why she acts this way now. It's still not okay. I mean I could forgive her if she learned her mistake, apologized to Kieran, and changed her ways, but she doesn't do any of that. Anyway, you don't need to relate to Kieran on a personal level like I do to understand that he's a teenager with insecurities, that his reactions make perfect sense for someone his age that's in the situation he's in. He doesn't need to be controlled nor partially influenced by Pecharunt for his actions to make sense, and I think it would make his character worse. Not only would it remove the realistic (and relatable for some people) aspect of his character, it would also make his character a lot more flat and uninteresting. If he was controlled, his own feelings and the way we treated him would not be what caused him to go down this path, but just an evil entity making him evil. It's a lot more simple and a lot less interesting. Besides, Kieran is also very meta, as his character calls out the Mary Sue protagonists that everyone loves and who get everything handed to them on a silver platter. Like our character. Him being controlled and not being genuinly upset at us because Ogerpon only loves us like the protagonist we are, even though it was HIS childhood dream to befriend Ogerpon, is also a lot less interesting.
I do think pecharunts power reacted to Kieran as his arm glows purple and it would explain why pecharunt seemed to target carmine first since it was reacting to Kieran old greed it also explains why the loyal three actually returned
@@lightdarksoul2097 "Kieran's greed ?" What greed ? I personally think it was feeding off of Kieran's negative feelings and they allowed them to gain enough power to resurrect the Loyal Three.
@@Oceane1803 I wouldn't say greed I guess but he did seem like he felt he was entitled to Ogrepon and then later to Terapagos even when both pick your trainer
@@lightdarksoul2097 For Ogerpon, he was fine with her just going back to her cave. It's when she wants to join us that he objects. He doesn't want to catch Ogerpon to himself, he just wants to stop US from catching her, since we're an untrustworthy liar and traitor in his eyes. He doesn't think we deserve to be Ogerpon's partner and I would agree. As for Terapagos, I literally explained it in my comment. We took everything from him. He has nothing left. Terapagos is his very last chance of turning the tides. And besides, after his Champion fight, he's clearly shaken. Mentally, he could fall apart at any point. He focuses desperatly on Terapagos and nothing else in an attempt to avoid that. Basically his feelings were legitimate and he wasn't entitled to anything.
It makes sense now. The old tv show in japan or in china. This old boy was born in a peach and I think he eats mochi. And the boy found a dog and bird and became there friends. I don't know where monkedori came from tho
Momotaro? I'm pretty sure It was a folktale in Japan. I'm pretty sure he fed three animals (dog bird and monkey) mochi to become their friends, then they went to ogre island to defeat the ogre.
It really does match up, it just kinda fills in some blanks we could never have gotten filled in from the side of the story told in Kitakami. All this time it was believed that the Loyal Three were just greedy, trying to nab the masks because greedy, when in fact they were doing this for their friend Pecharunt, who wanted to make that old couple happy. The original version made it sound like the Loyal Three mugged the man for the masks, but really they were trying to do it quietly and peacefully, but the man came back and attacked, and they just defended themselves. It paints them all in a far more sympathetic light, and I am here for it. Also, something to consider- if they actually killed the man, why didn't they take the Teal Mask? If they were OK with killing him, surely grabbing the mask he died to protect would be easy for them, yeah? But they didn't. Which forces me to conclude they left the man alive, which in turn leads to the real question... why did he leave the cave? Ogerpon finds the cave empty save for the Teal Mask- no sign of the man. And the story is not shy about the fact that Ogerpon murdered the Loyal Three, yet is very vague about the man's fate. I'm not quite sure where this is all going just yet, but I just know there's far more to all this, and I for one am suitably intrigued. Also, this solidified Pecharunt as my favorite Mythical.
Something to consider. This technically means we have a Legandary Trio with a Mythical as it’s Trio Master. It’s also one of the few times in a long time, we actually got to FIGHT a Mythical Pokémon to catch it.
My main question is what happened to Ogrepon's trainer? He got beaten up, but was his injuries so bad that he died? If so, where did Ogrepon bury the body? We didn't se a grave anywhere.
So I think pecharunt makes poisonous mochi with one main effect which is to bring out the person's greed. Some of the mochi have huge effects while some of the mochi have tiny effects on the person who eats it.
So from what I got from this was Pecharunt basically granted wishes for an old couple for their love Old couple wanted masks Pecharunt goes and feeds the mochi to the loyal three. They go on an adventure They make it to kitagami and go to get the masks Right when they are about to steal the masks the trainer of ogrepon comes back and in a attempt to defend the masks attacks the group. The group kills the trainer in malicious attack or self defense. The group runs down the hill and celebrate too early for getting the masks. Ogrepon runs up to them and attacks them in revenge for its trainer. Ogrepon absolutely destroys them and even kills the loyal three by what I assume was beating them to death with its clubs. Ogrepon was about to finish the job by killing pecharunt but pecharunt defends itself before impact sending it flying into the forest. The next morning the villagers find the bodies of the loyal three and from the fact ogrepon and it’s trainer lives in the mountains the villagers assume ogrepon was trying to attack them and 3 wild pokemon defended the village.
Yeah Jack, you just didn't read the text in the Teal Mask... Keiran's grandparents told him the true story, that was kinda the whole thing, which lines up with this now
It is suggested the man died becausr when ogerpon looked for him he was gone with only the mask there wich is why it attavked the loyal 3 Then it got cast out of the village because they thought the loyal 3 were the nice ones cliffe Where peachthing or what its name was camefrom we dont know but it has a slight resemblence to the tapu from alola
@@bigjalapeno7061 i never said it came from alola but the way it comes out of its shell like that like a f4uit while the tapus where seashells is interresting Perhaps we will find more of those kind of pokemon someday to get the answer
There's a theory that this story is a lie. It has a few inconsistencies with the story told in game, like the location of the fight with Pecharunt. In Pecharunt's story, it happens in the forest, while in game, it's said to happen in/near the village since the villagers saw Ogerpon's wrath and thought it was the bad guy. In the animation, no one was here to see the fight. And also, a day after the animation released, the social media team released a post which was just "MOCHI MOCHI" with glitchy effects. It implies that they were under Pecharunt's control, and that it made them tell us this story so that we see it as not so much of a bad guy when in reality, it is.
whats werid about the story is it does not add up with kierains grandpas story a channel goes well in deph with this and goes by the name of gmedley i recommend u see it in ur freetime
So basically Pecharunt want and steal the mask with it companions the loyal 3 but got they're butts beat by Orgpon cause not just they sold the masks but the hurt and properly kill Orgpon master so Pecharunt was sleep in the forest until someone found it and place it in where that shop lady is at while Orgpon being acuse of being evil was sent back to it cave alone forever just like Pecharunt so if Pecharunt wouldn't went out and steal those mask none of this would happen to all 5 pokemon also no Kaiem never bind mochi cause he never met Pecharunt before until the Epilogue started he bind that way after we whoop his butt in part 1 of the dlc so that also I want to point out Pecharunt represents a Pecha Berry could they're be more pokemon that have names like Pecharunt hmmmmmm.

So this whole thing that created the saddening messy history for the Teal Mask DLC story & Mochi Mayhew (still not sure if I should include the Indigo Disk DLC story into this due to people's opinions of Pecharunt's influence ever affecting Kieran) was still all because of the affectionate-greedy Pecharunt & that greedy elderly couple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
{what in the world would an elderly couple want masks for in the first place?!?!?!?!!!!}
The couple really were weird to ask for the masks i wonder if they were from Johto
@@lightdarksoul2097They were probably from Sinnoh FKA Hisui.
I dont understand why fezandipiti could use sleeping pheromones on the first place
This is the true story. What the story from the game is is how the onlookers saw it. This is like the background info and how it all played out
I have two theories that the next thing is going to be more DLC or Johto will have its Legends Arceus game and it will have the old people's place and we know that the next game cant be unova cuz the old people live far away probably from paldea
Ogerpon trainer got some balls of steel to try to 2v1 Pokémon ofc he lost but no way bro did that
Keep in mind a pure grass type 1v4’d FOUR poison types with little issue
Also, if u didn’t realise, the loyal three's battle themes when u catch them is the same as the “mochi mochi” theme (or maybe a remix or something)
He attacked them first so they had to defend themselves
6:27 this is the prequel to the dlc it’s also the context the characters in game didn’t have hence why it’s the untold story
My main question is what happened to Ogrepon's trainer? He got beaten up, but was his injuries so bad that he died? If so, where did Ogrepon bury the body? We didn't se a grave anywhere.
“Went through the Mochi Mochi thing”
This is what happens when you skips dialogue
So I think pecharunt makes poisonous mochi with one main effect which is to bring out the person's greed. Some of the mochi have huge effects while some of the mochi have tiny effects on the person who eats it.
So from what I got from this was
Pecharunt basically granted wishes for an old couple for their love
Old couple wanted masks
Pecharunt goes and feeds the mochi to the loyal three.
They go on an adventure
They make it to kitagami and go to get the masks
Right when they are about to steal the masks the trainer of ogrepon comes back and in a attempt to defend the masks attacks the group.
Go back and watch the original Ogrepon story cutscene as told by Carmine's grandpa. You can see Pecharunt for a second together with the Loyal Three.
Peecharunt? Also same about munkidori and the pokemon did not want to ogerpons trainer
Just wanted to point out that phesendipitty was found in a cave, so unless unphezant could be found in a cave, it likely isnt one.
Yeah Jack, you just didn't read the text in the Teal Mask... Keiran's grandparents told him the true story, that was kinda the whole thing, which lines up with this now
Thank you for making my birth day the best one with a video ❤❤
It is suggested the man died becausr when ogerpon looked for him he was gone with only the mask there wich is why it attavked the loyal 3
Then it got cast out of the village because they thought the loyal 3 were the nice ones cliffe
Where peachthing or what its name was camefrom we dont know but it has a slight resemblence to the tapu from alola
I doubt the resemblance is intentional and it's probably not Alolan. The place it came from looked like Japan
@@bigjalapeno7061 i never said it came from alola but the way it comes out of its shell like that like a f4uit while the tapus where seashells is interresting
Perhaps we will find more of those kind of pokemon someday to get the answer
@@couchrpg6282 I guess that could be interesting
Seriously, ogerpon’s such a badass it had a 4v1 against all poison types and WON
Play randomised Nuzlocke in Pokemon sword

Love your videos keep up the good work

‘That means Kieran wasn’t mochi’
- Purplecliffe 2024
Fun story and all... but why... WHY was none of this story explained WITHIN THE DLC ITSELF???
I can summarize all your questions with one phrase
"ITS A MYTH"
Love your videos ❤
Hi from Spain
You can see okidogi tail in one of the scenes (I could have spelled this wrong)
Mochi Mochi 💜
paperclip
The old couple in the story might be Kieran’s graparents
Wow this is amazing
It's cool that they put this out there. I hope we get more lore for Scarlet and Violet
Let's go. I am glitchy with a 2 to make a comment on this RUclipsr eye move fun
There’s a theory that Pecharunt is originally from Johto.
Wait why aren’t the Loyal 3 with purple eyes?😮
Here me out, what if the muscle bear is incenaroar but changed from eating to much of the mochi pecharant gave
Okidogi is a dog, but he was weak before he ate MOCHI, so I'm pretty sure he wasn't an incineroar
whats werid about the story is it does not add up with kierains grandpas story a channel goes well in deph with this and goes by the name of gmedley i recommend u see it in ur freetime
Not a frequent viewer but are jacks vids always kinda late to the party?
Anybody gonna tell Jack that the loyal three killed the trainer? R.I.P Orgepons trainer😢😢
Nice video
So far :)
Yes very
So basically Pecharunt want and steal the mask with it companions the loyal 3 but got they're butts beat by Orgpon cause not just they sold the masks but the hurt and properly kill Orgpon master so Pecharunt was sleep in the forest until someone found it and place it in where that shop lady is at while Orgpon being acuse of being evil was sent back to it cave alone forever just like Pecharunt so if Pecharunt wouldn't went out and steal those mask none of this would happen to all 5 pokemon also no Kaiem never bind mochi cause he never met Pecharunt before until the Epilogue started he bind that way after we whoop his butt in part 1 of the dlc so that also I want to point out Pecharunt represents a Pecha Berry could they're be more pokemon that have names like Pecharunt hmmmmmm.
im happy hes not like xqc just siting there
Yea
Pecharunt is a story similar to momotaro
MOCHI MOCHI
OMG dad was amazing
I feel bad for Pecharunt now smh
You should really pause the video when you’re going to give input. A. It sounds cluttered and B. You lose bits and pieces of the story while you’re watching

You definitely don't need to apologize for pausing a video you're reacting to, hearing commentary over the video that's still playing just sounds like muffled nonsense. There's no point of watching your reaction if I can't even understand you or the video
