I would go with the Alyssum or the Sedum. I have a lot of containers as well. I love them. The color combination in the galvanized tub is beautiful already. It's going to be even more stunning when it grows out. You teach me so many things, but I have to tell you your videos bring me such peace. You make gardening, and everything about gardening seem so easy and not tiring at all. And we all know that it can be very tiring. I would love to be your neighbor and chat with you and drink coffee with you, and learn from you in person. I have started watching your painting tutorials. I am going to order that set that you recommend. Also, I think the first two pieces i'm going to paint are the sunflower and the daisy. Who knows, maybe I'll do both of them on the same canvas and let my creative inner spirit out. Lol.❤❤

I would love to be your neighbor too. It would be fun to talk gardening and painting together. I need to get back to more painting but my Primrose cottage studio needs a huge purge first. Sadly I have let it get deplorably cluttered!

What's there is nice but the alyssum would be brighter. That blue of the hardy one is incredible.
Our 90° weather begins this Thursday. Better get my lettuces shaded.

I was just thinking the same about my lettuce and cilantro this morning. Time for the shade cloth to come out.

I think I would go with the Sedum, but they all would look good in the end.

I am leaning toward the sedum too. It is amazing what stepping away from it and taking a day can make a difference in what you think will be the most pleasing in the long run.

We are getting so much rain the spring bulb greens are still as fresh as ever. I braided some daffodil greens, it helped to tidy up as with all this rain things are either crowding or splaying out. I had to corral the poppies and pull some today-it’s crazy.
Today was the first time ever I seen something dig to get underneath my garden fence! 😮. I knew something was nibbling at the flowers.😡
I do a few containers but find plants easier to care for in ground. Lobelia is a nice blue color.

I have been trying to do more in the ground and less in containers too. But to protect some plants I must put them in gopher cages. I have been eyeing the raised beds I put in and thinking I will just remove them later and put everything in gopher cages. I can never make up my mind!

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse yes, I know you have gophers. I would trap gophers till I was blue. We had to do just that with celery leaf and rat traps as we were over run by them. We use celery because they love it and because the birds don’t go after it.

@@dustyflats3832 I have still to try the rat traps. Maybe I can get to the hardware store today and get some. It is worth a shot.

Pam, I think the coral sedum would be pretty. I live in zone 8, Greensboro, NC, and my Angelica sedum is an evergreen for me.

Since mine is under snow and gets quite beat up most of the winter it doesn't look evergreen for me, but it does spring back well once it warms up. I have a few spots it has come back beautifully. I like the coral sedum best too, I will be adding larger clumps to this container for sure.

Would the Sedum not like how much water the rest of the tub would be getting? I am still learning about putting the right plants together based on water and fertilizer needs.❤❤
