  • On March 22, 2014, the historic "Buckeye Block" in downtown Garrettsville, OH went up in flames. The loss was devastating to so many: the thirteen business owners with shops located within the buildings of the block, the people who hold such good memories of growing up in the small town, and historians (one section was the location of the first department store in Portage County, The Root Store, and another section housed the stage where James A. Garfield spoke before he became president). Thirty four fire departments joined the Garrettsville fire department in containing the blaze. This is my slideshow of some of my photos.
