@@brendaswensonwatercolors Dear Brenda, thank you! Wow, how come such a brilliant idea doesn´t occur to everyone. Genious and amazing!
I am one of those beginners who prefer painting on single sheets of paper taped to a board. And you know what, your sketchbooks inspired me to a similar idea: to spiral bind selected finished works to have them organized nice and clean. I even think it's not a problem if not all paintings are the same size. It would be a crazy looking sketchbook, but for sure unique. He-he. It would help save some margins one one side of paper for the binding.
When I have enough finished paintings worth binding together, I think I´ll try it.
Oh, oh, and for all thouse children drawings that I store in a box it could be a wonderful solution too!

I would say if you live somewhere with lots of human activity, sketch what you see out the window, be it a car parked on the side of the road that hasn't been there before, flowers in the window sill, people or road work, the neighbours house, etc!
I sketch from life...people, old gas pumps, gardens.

Negative Painting is a technique unique to watercolor. The technique requires building up transparent glazes and building shapes (negative space). I have demos on RUclips and on my blog www.brendaswenson.blogspot.com
I’m sure you’ve answered this many times...but what is your sketchbook? I noticed some tracing paper...was it taped in or bound in?
Vicki, No tracing paper. All images are drawn freehand. Sketchbook instruction are in the text below video.
I didn’t mean to imply you traced your art...the very first page looks like a Mylar. It would be nice to have a sheet of glassine in between each page!
vicki ross, I have an assortment of drawing papers in the front. The paper you noticed that has a shine is called Bristol Plate. It’s very slick and fun to work on.
How do you keep the colors so vibrant? I always end up with dull and muddy colors😔
Lisa, how do I keep my Colors so vibrant? I mix a lot of colors on paper on the palette. I also glaze with transparent colors, careful to let each layer dry before glazing.
