technical baat hai, kyuki bhut bandhe hue kam lay me bol haath se smoothly nhi nikalte hain aur plus har laggi ka ek apna lay hota hai. kuch log hain jo lay na badhate hue usi lay pe aggi bajate hain, lekin ghazal wagaira me lay badhna common hai, chalta hai. classical me nhi

Surinder khan has always been and will be right on money every time. Now with the tabla guy, he is pretty much a decent player but before he tries and experiment with his technical ability to play with the time signature he needs to master the art or atleast should not depict over confidence and screw up with the timing as did on one occasion. There were multiple instances that he landed on sum forcefully compelling Surinder khan to land with him. Meanwhile he is also trying to be graceful with his facial gestures which I am afraid contradicts with his playing. In my opinion he needs to take a leaf out of Mani Bharadwaj's book in every regard(I am deliberately not mentioning Ustad Tari Khan because he sits there undisputed at the top) It will take a lot of time for him to develop as a superior tabla exponent but only if he pays attention and stays humble.

Totally agreed with your comment. Yes there were many instances where the tabla player was not meeting the sum despite having skillful playing he was missing the right pickup in the song. Surinder khan is such a perfectionist!!!! And very very humble human wah ustad surinder khan ji.....

He's one of the most accomplished tabla players in the UK and has accompanied Surinder Khan and many legends countless times . Learned from legends like Ustad Alarakha Khansahab, Ustad Mian Shaukat Hussain Sahab and Ustad Fayyaz Khansahab

Ustad shehbaz Hussain is one of the leading tablist of Punjab gharana! He is the disciple of ustad fayaz Hussain, miyan shukat Hussain, and ustad Allah rakha khan sahb,
Jahan Tak baat rahi Mani bhardwaj ki , wo b Ustad shehbaz ko apna ustad mantay Hain, Mani bhardwaj is much junior than him, I think you should listen to ustad shehbaz Hussain properly, watch his videos of solo tabla, and with many other famous singers of indo Pak,

Ustad Shahbaz Hussain (Yes, he was awarded the title of ustad by government officials) is perhaps the most leading tabla artists in Europe. This was a very informal meeting and mehfil at his family home. This also took place a fair few years ago. Surinder khansaab and Shahbaz Khansaab are great friends and have been performing together for many years. Mani bhai is a great player indeed, who looks up to Shahbaz khansaab, Ustad Shahbaz Hussain is his elder “chacha Ustad”. His Ustad (Tari kahnsaab) and Shahbaz Hussain khansaab learnt from the same person. Ustadji has learnt from the greatest maestros of the last century: Ustad Miyan Shaukat Hussain Khan, Ustad Allah Rakha Khansaahib and Ustad Faiyyaz Khansaab. The first being the same teacher as Ustad Tari khansaab. To grasp the accomplishments of ustadji, he was recently invited to perform in front of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, not the accomplishments of your average Joe! I strongly suggest you research more and watch more videos to fathom the personality and ability of Ustad Shahbaz Hussain. Start by my channel!!

@@JunaidAli-rx5qz Well folks I think he fucked up here and no matter how much u guys debate Mani bharatdwaj definitely plays better than him in every regard and that's my opinion. I don't think I need to research the works of someone who I don't admire and this was the first impression I got watching this video. So anybody who thinks the tabla guy here is better then I don't have any anything to say to them. Its not about the masters he has trained under but his ability to display the craftsmanship at the highest level after being trained under such great teachers. Its actually a pity that he failed! I will still stick to my opinion which I have the right to hold anyway.
