Depends on the season, when it's fruiting season, the price crashes, those one I buy are those that the stall holder pack into your typical styofoam makan boxes for take out, simply because there's just too many... Those pack in styofoam can go as low as SGD$1 each.

That's the problem with a lot of people who hate durian. They ate the several days old durian that isn't fresh anymore. Or worse, the packaged ones. Your first experience should be a fresh one, less than a week old since it fell off the tree. The most ideal methode is if you have a SEA friend who can pick the good ones from the market.

Usually the vendor will do the packing on the spot for leftover durain, you need a bit of luck to see that happening before grabbing THOSE that are just packed 😉
