Princess Anne’s emotional and historic moment beside the Queen’s coffin

- Princess Anne made history by becoming the first royal woman to take part in the 'Vigil of the Princes' as she joined her brothers to stand guard over their mother's coffin.
The 72-year-old was dressed in her military uniform for the historic moment at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh beside her three brothers King Charles III, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
When you realize how old these people are and the physical stamina required to go through all of this. It's a lot.
Edward is still in his 50's, but this has to be hard for the others.
I was so concerned to see her and Charles on that uphill walk that was about half an hour behind the coffin... while wearing all that uniform and carrying the sword. He will need to be rubbed down with bengay by the time this is all over.
I was thinking the same, it's not easy
Absolutely. That amazed me !! AND all the marchers too.
Facts
She deserves the honor to stand vigil at vigil of Princes, she has more than earned it.
She hasn't earned it. They have earned HER. She's rock solid and the real deal.
Shame they let Andrew stand vigil that disgusting rat. Disgraced her in life and now in death makes a mockery of her funeral procession.

Anne is very much like her mother! A strong women with a sense of duty, and respect! Great role model for every woman watching!
Two incredible women. Her Majesty the Queen & the Princess Royal. So much respect.
Princess Anne is more of a real man than all her three brothers together.
Respect! ❤
What a sexist comment to make!
Princess Anne looks absolutely heart broken. She has been a strong lady thru out these past days. May her Mother, the Queen rest in peace.

Oh Anne, she is her mother's daughter in every way. Composed, honourable, and her strength is next to none. She has done her late mother proud and is a credit to our nation. R.I.P Your Majesty, thank you for your service and duty to our country. 🕊

I agree. She seems to be the strongest of the children! And loyal to her core. She’s never been given enough credit for honoring her mother in everything she does. She looks stern but that’s her character. No time for nonsense. She has always worked harder than her siblings. God bless her. It’s nice to see her a bit vulnerable. God bless the queens family. She did a magnificent job as the queen’s daughter. Her mother was very proud of Anne, with good reason.
Princess Anne broke my heart with that curtsy. Her love for her mother is palpable. ❤️
the grief by Anne and Charles is very visible. I can't say the same for Andrew

It is very obvious looking at princess Anne that is heartbroken. She and her mother were very close. Her mother respected her hard work and dedication. She was very much like her mother QE 2.
Princess Anne has never wavered being loyal to her mother and Queen. If there is a scaled down Monarchy, Princess Anne deserves to be at the top of the A-list. She has earned it. Princess Anne is the great herself.
She is one of the few royals who hasn't had a lot of scandals attached to her.
Minus the divorce of course
I cannot agree more and always there when needed by either parent..especially for Prince William and Harry THOROUGHOUT their lives and especially when they lost their mum..She is a kind.loving.respectful, most trusted HRH Princess with Dignity and Class..She is her Parents Daughter in everyway.
Yes. I highly doubt that King Charles would remove Princess Anne in a scaled down Monarchy because of her decades of devotion to the Queen and to the British people. I'm quite certain the King spoke with his mother on these issues prior to her death. Just as it was the Queen's wish that Camilla be Queen Consort instead of Princess Consort (the Queen's devoted husband was Prince Consort) to recognize Camilla's devotion to duty despite all the drama decades ago, I would be quite certain that the same would have been said about Princess Anne and that she would continue to do her duties.
@@zurzakne-etra7069 divorce isn't a scandal it's every day life
I couldn't help but notice how Princess Anne was not only at Balmoral with her mother prior to her passing, but was she was also there afterwards for every stage of the late Queen's journey back to London, at every stop, without fail, ever the dutiful daughter.

I don't care if you are a King, a Princess, a shop-worker, or a homeless woman - your mother is your mother and the grief at her death is as deep as anyone else's. But having to live through that grief always in the public eye must make it twice as difficult. Everyone acted with such grace and dignity, just as the Queen did all her life. As difficult as it must have been to stand vigil over her coffin, all of her children were a credit to her. They've lost both their parents in a little over a year. RIP Queen Elizabeth II - I watched your coronation when I was a child and grew up all through your reign. I am so grateful for that.

Well said.
I also like the fact that she is like her father too, and doesn't suffer fools gladly.
When I read this comments I realise how short lived are the memories of people. Princess Anne was the first one to shock the monarchy by divorcing in 1992 (and it was strongly suggested that she was having some kind of affair at the point with her current husband). I mean, fine for me, I don't think it's a dishonor but if they have searched her figurative dirty laundry as they did with Charles at the point, they would have produced some bad press. It's ridiculous to think that they are not people and they have their strengths and struggles as everyone. And if you are passing some kind of title as an inheritance you cannot expect consistency in the moral character of the person getting it.
A very touching moment, regardless how old you get to be,losing your Mother is always a devastating tie.

Having to go through all the ceremonies while your heart is breaking, knowing full well the entire world is watching your every move, has to be one of the most difficult things in the world. You can tell the love, respect and utter devotion Princess Anne has for her mother just by her facial expressions 😢 as a daughter who has buried her mother I know just how hard it is for Princess Anne and pray for peace and comfort I think alot of times people forget that celebrities and presidents and in this situation the Queen's family are human just like everyone else and hurt just like everyone else
And you know her strong sense of duty will propel her to continue that devoted service under her brother King Charles to continue to honor the Queen's memory.
Princess Royal Anne has shown the world she is her mothers the Queens daughter!
To Princess Anne, indeed, thank you! As her parents instilled in her the steadfastness of dedication, I now learn from her as I watch her actions during this tough season of grief.❤️🌹❤️🇬🇧
Princess Anne deserved to be Queen, she has grace and the poise of a queen.
Never have I felt more love and respect for Princess Anne than I do at this moment in time , I can relate 🙏🌹
I love your comments 😍
Where are you from dear?
Anne is a model royal, so kind and loving to her mother, family and country.
@Bella just stop
I wish Princess Anne would be Queen.
She’s awesome!
They all truly love their mother. May she rest in peace and may her children find comfort in the Lord.
This was a tear jerker. All four of them, and especially King Charles and Princess Anne, looked like they were on the verge of tears the whole time. The images of Princess Anne broke me as well. My heart goes out to all of them. Great Britain may have lost a Queen, but these four people lost a mother. 😭😭😭
Nice to read a comment amongst all of these that does not play in to the gender card as the journalist intended. It was a beautiful service. The late Queen, her 4 children and indeed the respect shown by the Scottish people demonstrated a very moving and very powerful message to the whole world. One cannot have anything less than the greatest respect
Princess Anne is one of my favorite royals. She deserves the honor of taking part in the vigil and accompanying her mother on her funeral trip. Her grief was touching and made me cry.
NOTHING compares to a MOTHERS LOVE! She will be missed so dearly.
Sexist
I have so much love, honor and respect for Princess Anne. It is said that she had so much devotion to her mother, the Queen, and the country. You could see it in her face, her heart is broken. Praying for you Princess Anne. Your loyal fan N Texas, USA.
I really admire princess Anne she’s been amazing at this sad time. Very dignified
How they all are able to remain so stoic is a testament to their mother and what she taught them. I would be a bawling mess
I am deeply moved to tears....what a powerful moment it is to stand at the Queen mother's coffin. It reminds me of the time when i was the only female to carry my mother's coffin.Cant say anymore.May the good God console every member of the royal family and the entire nation.
Such a blessing having your mother for more than 70 years.
No matter how old you are when a parent dies, it is a heartbreaking time in one’s life! Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth 💕. Long live the King
