    Nice, this plan would work great with our previous old kitchen radio that I scrapped a while ago,

    It's simple, but all it really needed was a 19 inch long single wire extension on the antenna line and it is done. Just receiving so swr is not a big issue.
    Good video though.

    What if use any aluminium or copper in place of (Brize/bronze?)? and how can we measure AM or FM using MHZ or KHZ? Boss!

    Wonderful Video, But If You Have Electric Wire And A Radio That Doenms`t HavE Any receptiuon All You need To Do Its Just Put The Wire Onto Your Curtains Or Any Spot Where You Can hang It On And Then Rap Around The Radio The Wires , Like, 8 Times Around And It Will Receive Much Better In HF !

    Great vid, but how did you work oput what length of rod to use, is that for a specific frequency ?. cheers

    • @DanaKotze
      @DanaKotze  2 года назад +2

      Yes it is relate to the frekwency. For fm it is 75 cm per rod. One quarter wavelength. Cheers

    • @MorAcht
      @MorAcht 9 месяцев назад

      Does it make any difference to the length where the rod is bent into the wood. I would think this part in the wood would not receive any signal from the air. I have seen some other videos where this length is 31 1/2 inches. Also should the rods have a low resistance for my 75 ohms coax connection at my radio?

    So is this superior to just buying a good Philips/RCA rabbit ears antenna like the RCA ANT115 for $20 ?

    • @DanaKotze
      @DanaKotze  5 месяцев назад +2

      @@tomsettles6873 yes absolutely. I will make a video on a later stage using a Bulion which compensate for the impediense match. You can google antennea impedience matching transformer.

    Can you explain why 75cm?

    • @DanaKotze
      @DanaKotze  Год назад

      Hi. It is something to do with the waveleghht of the FM radio signal. This is a quarter length. Cheers

      @@DanaKotze I am trying to get reception on a car radio I’m using in my garage. I feel like I’ve got everything going right but I still can’t get good reception. Although they sound pretty straightforward, antennas are hella frustrating to get some good reception.

    make sure it has 300 to 75 ohm balun otherwise it won't work

    • @eswnl1
      @eswnl1 7 месяцев назад

      Well a dipole is balanced and coax isn't - so some kind of balun is needed. Few turns of coax round some ferrite?
