This being my first nascar race ive ever been to and finnaly finding money to. This was awsome. Being a short track kid and racing late models this was amazing. No bad seat anywhere i sat and it was so cool.
That was fun. Let's see more stadium races. This reminded me of the Dodge Raceway Stadium fantasy track in the old NASCAR EA games. Let's get more stadium races on the schedule. Imagine a race INDOORS like the Superdome or even AT&T stadium. I love the new cars but the real test is going to be at Daytona.

Very fun. I think Nascar did a brilliant job organising this, especially with the stars (big up Ice Cube!) and the advertising (mainly showing drama and action, not just big crashes). If Daytona is a good race and the package isn't dogshit, this could be the start of a great era for Nascar. And remember, if the Coliseum worked Nascar would consider races in London, NY, Japan etc.
I can tell you BFM, those were such funny jinx's that had me laughing... My favorite jinx that you made was the Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe one. Those two were funny af. I just want daytona to be here. Can't wait for the duels. First actual race id like to see this year. The clash just didn't have the same feeling as daytona
It's like watching a giant-sized slot car race. The track was too small, the turns too tight and the "racing" (such as it was) was entirely too slow. But what really blew me away were all the rave reviews it got. I guess some people these days are very easily amused.
Imagine your Tony Stewart and one of your cars drops out with a mechanical failure when you were running top 5. I can guarantee tony had to try his best to not lose his shit on the air
For not one, not two, but *THREE* cars to drop out of the race due to mechanical failures in the span of *2 LAPS* is definitely a cause for concern. Also, take a good look at how badly damaged Justin Haley's car was when he got sent into the inside wall..... ..... *and that's only at 50mph* Long story short, there is a lot of work to be done before this next gen car is ready.
I agree, though do remember that inside wall was solid concrete, not a SAFER barrier, so all the energy dissipation had to go into the car instead of foam barriers in the wall, too
I'm addition to being solid concrete the inside wall was made of jersey barriers rather than a permanent wall so when he hit it they shifted leaving a harsh edge at the junction between the two segments. It even broke the concrete so I don't see that wreck as an indication of a big problem with the cars. I did see one wreck into the outside wall that didn't look too bad but they towed the car off which had me concerned, but I also saw a ton of harsh aggressive racing, lots of rubbing the outside wall, and no cut tires from fender damage. Ryan Blaney tagged it pretty decently and had either a cut tire or suspension damage but I'm hopeful that these new cars can take more of a beating than the old ones
I think you're right. Maybe twice a year and only exhibition races. I wouldn't wanna see a random points race at a stadium. Maybe the Clash and the All-Star race put in a different stadium every year, and I'd be fine with that.
I think the event turned out very well concerning how worried I was about certain issues. Reliability issues are still eyebrow-raising, but the race wasn't too terrible of a wreckfest, and it truly felt like local bullring racing. The very first stadium racing was shown in NASCAR chase for the cup 2005. When racing in a Dodge stadium wherever it's a single race or fight to the top or season mode it can get pretty chaotic with the pit stops which can cause a caution if you collide into someone or it's coming out of pits or coming in
Here's another cool thing about this race: Almost everything used to make that disposable racetrack can be reused. It's a bit odd to think a course that produced such fun, interesting short-track racing will be gone in a few months!

I feel really bad for anyone who didn't know about the heat races paying full price for what seemed to be one hour of racing. Then again it's not like NASCAR wasn't advertising the format. I think back to a lot of short track races I've been to and it's weird how few people only show up for the feature and don't bother to watch the heat races. Unless it's something like the Thompson 300 (to shout out my favorite event from the 2021 season) you miss most of the racing action if you don't watch the heat/consolation races. I guess it's possible most casual NASCAR fans or first-timers just don't understand the concept. Maybe NASCAR did have a blind spot in that regard relying on the "old school" mystique of heat races rather that really hyping them up. I certainly knew I had to watch the heat races and was really mad when I found out my DVR didn't record them. Thankfully this thing called "fubo" did. Anyway, something to fix for next year.
Or maybe just make the feature 200 laps. That's only another 10-15 minutes at those speeds, I could have watched that.
