If I'm not mistaken i ran into you at a speedway in Fairplain WV. Your truck looks familiar. The majority of the pipe is in the ground here. Hinkle and Myer was the contractor doing the job. That's my hometown that the line went through.
Austin I’ve sat being attached to a IA (initial attack) crew for some 10 days no doing nothin but wigglin my thumbs with no cell service on a wildfire down in horseshoe bend Idaho.
Man how i wish i could be out there worked refrigeration side of pipe welding as a helper and loved every second of it ready to get out on the pipeline and work my butt off and learn almost got my truck together and ill be looking!
How can u get a job in the pipelines? I live in south texas i been trying to join but no luck im willing to learn so i can work myself of for better pay.

I’m glad the videos have been helpful. You start by filling out and app on line. Defiantly gotta have that. But without knowing anyone that would give you a good referral it may be a while before you get a chance on a job. M6ndo Hernandez short answer, no. Only certified welders who pass a test and receive a stencil are allowed to make critical welds. If you are working on non-critical structure, sometimes you can run a few beads under close supervision of a welder or weld boss. But most times that would also be a no.
Ya usually you can do things like that. In this case we didn't have our machines on our trucks but ya that is definitely something you can do on down time.

You want boring. Try working on a standby oilfield supply boat. Tied off too a bout for 14days. Only time you move is to pump them water every 3 or 4 days. Talk about cabin fever
@living in a desert I worked every inch of the Gulf in South Louisiana to Sabine pass, TX. Can't say I miss it but it put food on the table They make a little more now than when I out there in 90s early 2000
@living in a desert Get a twic card and go for it Graham Marine, seacor, cardinal Marine all big outfits are always hiring. Or go to Tiger fleet in Baton Rouge and build tow for 12hrs. If you left on good terms somebody will hire you because you got experience.

Lol nah. Sparks will burn through as much as a cotton welding jacket. I will never weld with my expensive ass carhartt
Carhartt specifically says not to weld in their stuff. It has zero fire protection.

Depends where you are I'm in alberta Canada and I make about 300 a day before taxes
$375 a day is the most I ever made.
