    This is a dumb comparison. Pacquiao fought margarito at 165 lbs when he weighed 144lbs Inoue is great but I believe he won't go above 126lbs maybe. 130lbs. Pacman was skinny. Coming up cause he was malnourished and broke af.

    • @JeffPenaify
      @JeffPenaify 9 месяцев назад +13

      only reason Pacquiao was a flyweight was because of his malnourishment, once money came in for him he outgrew the low divisions by considerable amount in short time. Pacquiao had the genetic potential to be much heavier and maintain his coordination. Its the combination of those factors that make Pacquiao the once in a lifetime example that he is, and why no other boxer in history of the sport competed at high level in same divisions he did. Poverty and youth is main reason he was a flyweight and not a 122-126 lb fighter as a teen

      Yeah, not many know or just forget the fact that Pacquiao was in poverty and was skinny in his youth. He started fighting at 16(lying that he was 18) and was putting rocks in his pocket to fight properly. Once he was earning the money, his growth spurt was amazing and he became a natural welterweight

    Its simple where the power comes from Naoya Inoue said it himself and its literally what shawn said

Naoya also said in an interview from 2019 " If i were to to hit a still object I wouldnt hit hard there are people who can hit harder on a still object. However that not what boxing is. Its about moving and having you timing and distance, with speed and hitting your opponent with the punch they dont see. Thats where the Knockout comes from." Funny enough, Fulton confirms this in his post fight interview against Inoue. He said that it wasn't the power that got him but the timing that led to his KO. At the time, I actually thought he was just trying to passively discredit Inoue's power, but this actually helps clarifies things for me. Good insight though @MobBless97

      @@DaJump11Inoue got the gift of heavy hands, obviously his craft accentuates it but punching power is so complicated and hard to define you can only refer to it as a “gift”. You can see him as a small kid in amateurs knocking other kids out, no matter how crisp your timing speed and technique is, only a gifted fighter can do that consistently through 14 oz gloves and headgear. You can hear the impact on his shots, the guy was naturally blessed and honed his talent to its sharpest point.

      @@pandabear1576 That's what Fulton said during the post fight interview. "The shot that he did land. I didn't see it. He threw the jab to the body and then came on top of the face right hand. So it wasn't so much of the power it was so the timing of the shot." I remember watching it initially back then and thought Fulton was passively downplaying Inoue's power. But, after seeing OP's post, it gave me a new perspective on Fulton's interpretation on what actually led to the knockdown. I'm not saying Inoue's power had no factor in the KO, but what eventually led to the KO was the timing.

    Pacman and Inoue has two different legacies. Pacman never got undisputed and i dont think Inoue will be able to fight at welterweight divisions and heavier just like what pacman did .he must first get through the lightweight kings before that happen. Pacmans mechanics comes from his feet and fast punches thats why he keeps winning in heavier div but rarely knocking out people while inoue relies on knocking out opponents and precision of punches. They're comparing him with Pacquiao because everyone knows no one is going to beat Inoue until he reaches Lightweight. By that time, he's going to be at least a 6 division world champion - the closest someone will get to Pacquiao.

      @@ouro2164 At 126lb, he may lose. It will be the equivalent of Lomachenko at 135lb. Big ass dudes there, including a 6'1 weight bully. No way does Inoue make it to 135lb. 126lb will be his peak, with maybe 130lb bout for someone special.
