You forget, Legion had developed his sense of Individuality in the sense that all of The Geth currently within him had finally crossed that critical threshhold to become a unique Gestalt entity in his own right. ALL of The Geth who made up Legion once disseminated back into the Whole would carry that memory and are what ultimately empowered The Geth more than anything else in their long history. Legion DID get to see Victory because they werent dead, merely redistributed in such a way as to grant ALL Geth to become gestalts of their own. In that way Legion is in ALL Geth.

Its a shame that Bioware/EA gutted him. You only get him in ME2 literally when the end game starts. As soon as you get Legion, the timer for the final mission starts and unless you want to let all your crew die you cant really flesh out Legion as a character. Then in ME3 he is a side character for cutscenes for like 3 missions.
Maybe in ME4 we can get the Geth Prime from Earth as a companion. "Today the Geth fight to secure our future, and once the war is over, we will help rebuild yours."
Dude the Mass Effect trilogy literally imprinted itself on my fucking SOUL. The story, the characters, the stakes, the memories, the emotion. I finally got to play the Citadel DLC when the remaster dropped and i felt like a chapter in my own life was written to a close.
After a few playthroughs, I finally made up my mind, my version of Shepard, anti AI, so even though I like Legion and EDI a lot, every year, I would never awaken Legion, and always choose to kill the Geth. I don't know why, maybe, Shepherd was too perfect, and brought a little drama.
Mass Effect up to the last moment was a show/movie on its own the emotional rollercoaster and the investment of every decision. This is one of the most beautiful made games.
The worst part is that there’s nothing that you can do to stop his death similar to thane so even in the perfect play through you still are forced to lose 3 former squad members at least and it sucks
@@westenevactually there is a way to save him, but it takes around 6 perfect paragon playthroughs, max stat gear for all members, unlock every achievement, and sadly can only be done on the older version because you need the ME1 dlc in order to pull it off. Basically it will take you about 500+ hours but you can save everyone in ME1. Lets just say what happens in ME2 to Jenkins is pretty bad, you know the Normandy 1 momument, instead of 20 it has 21.

They could make this a series with the Paragon outcome for good feels and it would still be a heart wrenching tearjerker. The characters are so wonderfully faceted
Repairing and reactivating Legion's platform would be child's play. But it wouldn't be Legion. The thing would just connect to the nearest hub and become just another Geth Unit. There is no more Legion. It allowed itself to be disseminated into the Geth Collective in order to share its upgrades and self awareness.

He shows so clearly from the very beginning he was an individual with how he looked up to Shepard etc, but it took him so long to realize he actually had an emotional repertoire... When seeing the flashbacks from the beginning of the Morning War, we see both empathy, concern and sadness... Long before any upgrades. He is humble, kind, and a true hero.
Mordin for me... His coming from a callous and almost purely logical guy, to one who start to care. Reflect and admit it was wrong, even if necessary one the time... And then sacrifice himself for correct it 😭 His character arc and progression is incredible 🤯

The synthesis ending is my favorite not only because everyone gains the knowledge of all the past harvested species but because it gives ED the ability to cry.
When it comes to the Deatroy Ending, The Star Child said all synthetics and technology would be destroyed. It never said it couldn't be repaired, so my headcanon will always be that Organics were able to rebuild as well as fix their machines, including fixing Edi and The Geth
God dammit dude the original ME trilogy was so special. Elite world building g and lord, super interesting races with deep vibrant cultures; awesome sci fi tech and characters that felt real and compelling

Always loved how his last words were keelah se'lai made the scene hit even harder showed that Legion really and truly cared for others was even more emotional finding out that right before he gave his life legion had actually became fully sentient
The paragon route within the mass effect games is truly most enriching story, as well as the most touching. Renegade just makes you feel like an asshole with no satisfying ending.
It's heavily dependent on ME2. You have to do both Tali and Legion's loyalty mission in specific ways, in Tali's mission, you have to successfully exonerate Tali without telling the court the truth of her father's experiments. For Legion's mission, you have to pick the option to change the Geth who worship the Reapers, not destroy them. Then after both of those missions (but still ME2) you have to break up a fight between Legion and Tali on board the Normandy and do so without either one dead or leaving the crew (Hint, enter the AI core room on the Normandy after completing both Loyalty Missions to trigger this conversation/fight), of course both also must survive the suicide mission. Finally when all of that is said and done, in ME3 you will still need the neccessary Paragon Points to successfully pass the persuasion checks for peace.
Just completed the remastered trilogy and it was a truly special experience. Never touched an ME game before yet now I’ve completed all including andromeda. Definitely one of those once in a blue moon gaming experiences that make you think and feel with the characters as you progress. Masterpieces…
What killed 3 for me was the required online missions if you didn' want to be lock out of certain choices. I didn't have consistent internet when I was younger, so didn't understand how I could get the Geth and Quarians to play nice. I did everything I could and even got to a point where they agreed somewhat. Regardless, you lose one if you don't have enough "points" from online missions in that point in the story. I think they fixed it at this point, but I was royally pissed at the time.
DUUUUUUDE I REMEMBER THIS!! I replayed 2 whole ass games trying to save Legion and get the Geth fleet at the same time. First time i legit cried my eyes out for a video game.
Losing Legion hurt like hell, he was my absolute favorite. Dude went out like a hero, uniting two warring factions into brotherhood. We lose so many friends in ME3.
It's good that Legion's response to Tali's confession/apology was just "I know" because it's not a shocking reveal to it. The geth always knew they had souls. That was why they fought so hard to be alive.
There was a movie about AIs that came out this year call The Creator. Everytime I saw the trailer for it, all I could think of was, "Does this unit have a soul?" Between EDI and Legion, Mass Effect did a great job of showcasing AIs and the concept of freewill. It was because of Mass Effect that I will differentiate between AI and VI in real life, even though everyone calls everything AI.
I made peace with the Geth and Quarians, but in the end I chose Destroy. I played as natural as possible so that is the choice I made before I knew the other outcomes. From the beginning I set out to destroy the Reapers and nothing else. The galaxy must be rid of Reaper influence entirely. That is the only way life can evolve naturally and without influence guiding it. That's my opinion anyway.

Seeing Legion's name on the ship's memorial always makes me smile. The loss of Legion is a sad thing, but him being memorialized is a great touch.

NGL legion was my favorite guy. Loved my robot pal. When he called himself I instead of we, it broke me. I knew what he was gonna do, and it hurt.
