You know why this podcast works? It's conversational. Sometimes people just want to hang out with the hosts. Please never try to take this super seriously like boring analyst channels do
Considering this was recorded before city drew with feyenord, there's one quote that's particularly standing out when it comes to the whole 'Pep is killing football' debate and that is - 'You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian'
Klopp perfectly timed his departure. He'll get credit for leaving Slott an impressive squad and Slott's immediate success makes sure his name is never tarnished
I really don’t consider Mbappe as great as people think, ever since Newcastle smashed PSG 4-1 he hasn’t been the same.. he’ll still score goals because of the players he’s with 💯
The players he's with benefited from his goals and that's why Madrid wanted him so bad. Mbappe is the greatest name in European football no doubt. His problem is that he is too distracted in challenging situations. I think PSG turned him into a spoiled brat with all the azz kisses
@ absolutely agree with the second part but I do think he’s overrated only because I still see people saying he’s the best player in the world but he’s not even the best player in his team.. he will score goals and he will probably win the ballon dor one day but I think there’s definitely better strikers out there right now
Mr. Mbappe has been found out. He is a footballer with a lot of speed and a bit of skill but lacks footballing intelligence. Opponents are out thinking him game after game. He is no match for General Van Djik.
Can always remember George Boyd's transfer from Peterborough to Forest in 2013 being cancelled due to a supposedly "inconclusive " eye test. Apparently he wore contact lenses to play but didn't have them for the eye test.
Mbappe is quick and obviously good in front of the goal but i cant help thinking both Messi and Neymar made him look better than he is and Real Madrid do not play the same kind of way as PSG did so he is not getting those defence splitting passes for him to run on to.
It's nothing about Guardiola. Football became boring exactly after they decided to downgrade physical contact, around the time they said you can't make two footed tackles. At that exact moment every footballer said ' I don' t need to be as good at dribbling ' it is a pure meritocracy thing. If players don' t need to dribble or learn skills or be creative because you outlaw tackling... Then they won't...
Pep has killed the free flowing talent of Jack Grealish, a shadow of his former self. He has become robotic defends better at the expense of his attacking flair.
Grealish reminds me of Kulusevski at Tottenham a bit. When put in a strict winger position, he has moments of brilliance but generally seems like an average player. Then when Ange started playing Kulusevski more centrally in a more free role suddenly he looks like one of the better players in the league. I think Grealish still can be a great player if he just gets some more freedom to roam.
Everyone does play like robots now. Every part of the game is planned and drilled into players to the manager's liking. Pep more than others. If you ever wondered why it took Pep so long to trust Grealish, then that highlights the problem with him. At Villa he was unpredictable and talented, he was also their captain. But when he came to City, he wasn't played regularly for ages because Pep didn't trust him, and judging now, he still doesn't. Boring Man City. You can also see with Foden who's only be taught to be good in one position, then when he plays for England, he's hopeless because he's not played in that position, so is ineffective. Saka on the other hand....can play well in plenty of different positions. So, yes, Pep, robots, football, boring.
Nowadays players have to be athletes rather than ballers. It made the game less entertaining and joyful to watch. You rarely see players being imaginative on the ball and having fun with it. Really miss those days.
can't believe nobody said Ryan Giggs, England really needed that quality left winger back in day, maybe just me thinking about where we lacked the quality rather than picking the top players of the times.
João Saldanha, journalist and Brazil national team coach in 1970's World Cup qualifiers, benched Pelé because he was short-sighted. Seriously. Of course he was fired and we all know what happened on Mexico World Cup finals.
Madrid never should have signed him and he never should have gone, it’s like Kane going to Man City in January and playing defensive midfielder and people complaining about his goal output
Not going to lie, whilst i think peps tactics are efficient, it is fucking boring. They're robots, they stick to the same shit, where is the next skillful player? Wheres the next ronaldinho? Messi? C.Ronaldo? Anyone with any skill or flair?
Real Madrid will be absolutely fine this and beyond the season. Mbappe playing out wide or in a central role is just a matter of time for him to bed in with Jude and the boys. Carlo will have them playing together in no time.
i dont think pep killed football, i think pep mastered it and now teams have caught on to make that perfection a problem for their city when it doesnt go cities way on the pitch. the recent results speak for themselves
This "Pep killed the game" chat is so tired. No one is forcing these other teams to adopt his style of play. Klopp did it a different way and to this day remains the biggest challenger to Pep's Man City.
Pep has only killed the game because others have been stupid enough to follow him blindly. Not realising that you need talent for his system to work well. Citing De Bruyne and Messi isn't exactly an argument against the statement. The players Pep buys vs the style of player being bred nowadays because of the football he plays are two different things.

IMO Mbappé stayed in ligue 1 too long (out of loyalty or just for the easy cash ) and now is finding the step up difficult. Most observers in france say he's not been the same lethal player for 2 years. Also peak Peter Crouch would get 7 in 12 playing up front for Real 😉
Does anyone have the stats for Mbappe because I’m sure he is the player who is offside the most of any player. I’m certain I have seen more offside goals from him than any player and ironically he tends to miss the ones he’s onside more.
Should a qualified neurosurgeon work at a pharmarcy to prove how good he is at operating on brains? You don't get mentored by the "Godfather of modern football" Johan Cruyff to go manage at Huddersfield mate.
Complete myth. Won the UCL with a team of academy players at Barca and City are *11th* in the PL net spend table over the last 5 years, and I think 4th over the last decade

Seems like Micah's stock answer to any question he's asked is "Thierry Henry"...dude is seriously in love...
Ricky Gervais is going on the overlap… this means you need to get Karl Pilkington.
I just wish Wednesday questions were longer segments 20 mins is not long enough
Yeah this one was clearly cut short to put it around 20 mins... Wonder why

In respects to the question about football being robotic, I think the fact defenders nowadays are so much more athletic doesn’t help with that aspect
Make the Q&As video another 10/15 minutes longer lads.
Is Micahs shirt inside out? Definitely on the wrong way or fashion has gone crazy 😂😂😂
He can't see .leave the lad alone 😅

Tbf he's not far off it like lol. But at least he said he looks 35 🤣
Showing my age, but Elano was an absolute baller! What a player.

or giggs for shearer and micah considering we had decades of not really having left wing
The delivery on that last comment "Was pretty basic," was just one of the best I've seen 😂
Great podcast fellas
Who remembers Faustino Asprilla? A great player being a bad fit can ruin a good team. Without him, Newcastle would have won the title.
I do, he was talented but lacked discipline. I asked the show and Alan answered the question.
Does Micha have his shirt inside-out?
I saw this immediately and went hunting for the comment. I'm surprised they didn't call it out
Nowadays players have to be athletes rather than ballers. It made the game less entertaining and joyful to watch. You rarely see players being imaginative on the ball and having fun with it. Really miss those days.
I'd agree when it comes to midfielders. Very few that actually take on another player even when they have the capability.
can't believe nobody said Ryan Giggs, England really needed that quality left winger back in day, maybe just me thinking about where we lacked the quality rather than picking the top players of the times.
The guys are wearing the same clothes as the previous pod. Hence, no comment on the Newcastle match.
Vinni in the 10 was dangerous. Real can still play a double pivot and fit Bellingham in, with Mbappe on the left
