1. Manyara -Dodoma route is less inhabited, hence fewer social services along the road, so make sure you have all the supplies you need before starting your journey
2. Your Google search experience is on point, you managed to get many facts right and pronounced most names perfectly
3. The move to Dodoma is just recent, though the parliament was always in Dodoma, however, the bigger and better side of Dodoma city was on your left hand side, you navigated the older side of the city. Dodoma is the driest region in Tanzania , but it rains every season and they manage to produce good amount of food. They are the main produces of grapes 🍇 and large quantities of wine.
4. Mtera is not a reservoir, it is a river where large amount of electricity is produced, reason why the place is highly guarded. Those fish are from that river which collects it's water from as far as Mbeya region.
5. You missed an amazing forest plantations from Iringa just before Makambako, that was something should try to see on your way back, I really wish you see it, don't miss!. Also, take the Mbeya- Dar route, it's longer but can offer to you an amazing mountain ranges, you will be surprised honestly!, it's my favorite road route to be honest.
6. While in southern part of Tanzania particularly Iringa, Njombe and Mbeya, try not to eat something too hot during winter season, that whole region is notoriously cold, sometimes some snow fall especially at night, you might not realize how hot the food is until it is too late. Luckily you travelled during the midst of hot season in Tanzania.
7. In tz, beans and vegetables is provided for free in restaurants as an addition to what you have ordered, feel free to ask for when you order your food. Unless you buy to mama ntilie, those food sold at much cheaper price along the streets, they may not include it. You are right about Mbeya city, it occupies a very large area, highly populated but architect and the like is very poor. But food is the cheapest in Mbeyq region than anywhere in tz. Mbeya region alone is the main producer of various seasonal crops. Together with other 4 neighboring regions they form the so called "The Big 5", meaning the 5 regions in tz that literally feed the country and beyond.
@mariej6962 you are wrong on your number 4 of your comment.Mtera is not a river but is an hydro electric power generation station which is located on the border of Dodoma and Iringa regions. The power plant and its facilities is on the Dodoma side while the reservour is on the Iringa side. The reservour weir is exactly below the bridge deck spanning above The Great Ruaha River. In fact the Great North Road which originates from Capetown and ends in Cairo crosses The Great Ruaha River at the Mtera weir.
You people have done Kenya proud bringing together peoples of central and south Africa region, you deserve more than a pat on the back,if i was the secretary in charge of tourism i would reward you people, thanks for posting.😅
Thank you George. I know God will reward us. You can share the video so that other people can see our beautiful Africa
You are welcome, will do it
I am a Kenyan living in cape town {mother city} for over 10 years I can't wait to see you all in cape town
Tanzania landscapes are so beautiful, and the guesthouses are so cheap. Tanzania is in my heart, I will visit there soon 🇿🇦❤🇹🇿
I feel the same. It's really a beautiful country indeed. Hope to go there one day soon.
You should even the camera doesn’t do it justice.
Adiya is the treasurer, the historian, the commentator, the navigator, the narrator..go Adiya go! Such a great team of travelers, hopefully you breakdown the costs at the end of it all.
😊Thank you yes she indeed helps a lot during the trips
She's very sober, steady, dependable and reliable.
Where is episode 4?....been waiting for a whole century 😂
she got a very good personality
Seems Adiya was very good in Geography and history during school days
Liv is on another level..,looks like a journalist somewhere from the royal media services.., eloquent and composed.Your tenacity is top notch.., waiting for the 4th episode!
Thank you for the compliment 🙏🏾. I am humbled
In the back, on the right, she stands with pride,
Eloquent and updated, Dodoma her guide.
With words, she unfolds the terrain so wide,
A poetess of Tanzania, where hills and heat coincide.
The terrain, a canvas of nature's own art,
She articulates it with a genuine heart.
Dodoma's hills, where stories impart,
In her verses, the landscape plays its part.
The sun's heated touch, in her tales, alive,
Dodoma's warmth, through her words, does thrive.
Amidst the heat, where stories contrive,
She narrates with passion, making memories survive.
Architectures standing with a timeless grace,
She paints them vividly in the poetic space.
Dodoma's structures find in her verse a place,
An ode to the buildings, each a unique case.
To the girl on back right, with wisdom and might,
Dodoma's chronicler, in words so bright.
In her eloquence, Tanzania takes flight,
A storyteller weaving the hills, heat, and architectural light.
Thank you for that 🙏🏾
So far so good Adiya is real gem with great ideas

The houses are constructed using fired clay bricks, which apart from being aesthetically pleasing actually is one of the strongest and longest lasting building materials still used. That is also where they get that earthy redish/brown color from, apart from obviously also getting covered by dust/soil.
In many regions of Tanzania there remains a strong building tradition using these fired bricks for housing construction and thus the practice is not at all related to any assumed nomadic traditions..
Keep up your lovely trip reports we enjoy them a lot!
//Ahsanteni Sana!!
TZ is so organised. I loved that when I visited the country
Ladies and gents please watch the adverts to support our people. It's very important
Thank you for mentioning that
my laptop was with my son and now i cant see the ads. I asked him and he said he has done nothing to it. Assist please
The train you heard is the TAZARA RAILWAY LINE.WHICH TRAVEL FROM DAR TO ZAMBI ALL THE WAT CAPE TOWN, ROVOS TRAIN IS ALL USING THE SAME LINE TO TRAVEL FROM CAPE TOWN TO DAR. MAKAMBAKO/NJOMBE IS THE AREA WHERE IN WINTER SEASON ITS SNOWING. IRINGA U SAW A ALOT OF TIMBERS BCOZ HUKO NDIKO KUNA MASHAMBA YA MBAO 99% YA TZ.
This is very accurate. Thank you so much for watching and enlightened us
Mbeya region is Tanzania's food basket. Almost everything grows in that region, from rice, bananas, beans, avocados, cocoa, Irish potatoes e. t. c. Trucks from all east and southern Africa flock the region to ferry produce.
Wow thanks for sharing this
And for rice we export across India Ocean islands, particularly in the islands of Comoros and Seychelles.
Mbeya town is chaotic but mbeya region as whole is the bread basket of Tanzania and Kenya as no region in East Africa produce more food crops than mbeya, on you way back , you will cross border from malawi to Tanzania ,you will see the best of mbeya region through those farm land of kyela, Tukuyu hoping you will buy cheap rice and lots of banana
Yes the rest of Mbeya is a gem
Tunduma border is the busiest border in east and central Africa ,you can see how busy is Tunduma town
Yes it could be so but I think the chaos is man made to benefit some people
Dodoma was made a capital just recently, four to five years ago, so that is why everything is under construction. it is a new baby city.
Thank you for watching Hamisi
The railway you saw in Makambako is Tanzania Zambia Railway TAZARA. Sometimes Rovos Luxurius train use it from Cape Town to Dar Es Salaam
Thank you for shading some light on that fact. Blessings
Dodoma city is under contstruction; many things are being constructed such as Msalato international airport, embassies, government city (a very modern one), Dodoma studium, ringroads aroung the city, etc. After 10 years it’s when somebody can give a just comment about Dodoma.
I can wait to see it's transformation
If only Magufuli was still alive things would have been so different by now.
He was about to build trams and intercity trains in Dodoma
yall are literally the best traveller channel to exiat and we cant wait for more..... be spontaneous or go home is our new motto
We only live once right😂
This is real adventure, thanks for showcasing the beauty of "modest TZ"... its breath taking
Welcome Mugisha, it's always a pleasure showcasing The beautiful Tanzania
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! SHOW THIS COMMENT TO PATRICK!!!! This one special comment goes specifically for Patrick I love when he is behind the camera and films buses wherever they pass by not only this video but also all your videos across different countries. That proves he love buses and I love buses too... I really wanna Thank him for that
Thank you am sure he has seen this comment 🙏🏾
You guys are such a vibe and a good team. I love the way Adiya is articulate.
Thank you so much. Hadiya is a Gem
She is for sure
LIV your traveling team is very awesome 👏
I like it
That is TAZARA railway it trve across dsm to Zambia
I am here waiting for the next episode 🙏
A 32 Km dual carriage is about to be constructed through Mbeya city, the randomness is temporary. Good thing with Mbeya the CBD is away from the main highway
Say hi to our Kisii guy hehehe the accent says it all ....he seems to be humble.."finarry we are rooking at the great rift valley"......
Will do!
I am really enjoying this episode laughing and smiling all the way, sending u love from Tanzania
Asante
When you are doing Kenya- Egypt don’t leave me. Love from Uganda
The electrified raiway in Dodoma is Tanzania SGR from Dar es salaam to Mwanza , soon will start operating between Dar to Dodoma, same distance like Nairobi to mombasa
That will be awesome. Can't wait to use it
I love your content but liv Kenya next time a modern side of Dodoma is called Magufuli city...
Beautiful and lovely Tz trip....looking forward to crossing over to Zambia.
Thank you for watching Charles
I'm watching this at work, that's how much this adventure has hooked me... great work guys
Thank you. I hope you don't laugh too loudly at our jokes at work😉
It would be very interesting if you could overlay a translucent map on your video of this trip so that it’s easier to relate the story to the location.
Very great video.
Thanks for this
Great Idea.
The capital was moved from Dar Es Salaam to Dodoma......same way Kenya's capital was moved from Mombasa to Nairobi....only that for Dodoma its recent that explains its size. its basically the Administrative capital (parliament, presidency etc) of TZ while Dar Es Salaam is the Commercial capital......and the railway to Zambia is called Tazara
Thank you Yassin for the insight
But once the government City which they are building in Dodoma is completed then Dodoma is going to be a very modern and big city.
Looking forward to that
@@djb.8507 Oh Yes...the same happened in Kenya ...Mombasa was Kenya's first capital city...it was more developed ......when the capital was moved to Nairobi there was a development boom and it surpassed Mombasa in the end
@@YassinJumaTv True
Hongera! Thank you for sharing your season of life. GOD speed. Takbir! May the all mighty bless your hands. Amin! From an unusual not so cold T.O
Wow, thank you
Ac does not use gasoline. It's called freon..I think dodoma is a good capital..small and less congestion is great..
Thank you for watching
Dodoma, Arusha ,Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe, Kilimanjaro, Manyara is usually always very cold regions,
I was born in Mbeya and grew up there, in 90s and early 2000s it was still a small town. When it started growing the authority didn't have a city master plan so they let people build houses in whichever way they wanted.
Now the city is over congested and unplanned. Population is increasing rapidly with no place to build a school or health center. No place to breathe 😂😂
Maybe the 30km dual carriageway and a bypass for trucks expected to complete by 2025 will reduce the chaos. But for mbeya to be organized a lot of houses need to be demolished.
Naipenda mbeya kuliko sehemu yoyote Tz.
we appreciate the length of the video, would you mindmaking longer videos, even if its 2 hours i assure you we will watch every second
Noted thank you 🙏🏾
I am impressed by the cleanliness of Dodoma city
Very clean
I'm abit surprised how arid the interior of TZ is. Dodoma is much smaller than I thought but small can be good. Overall TZ seems to have decent road infrastructure. Great to see the Train service being upgraded.
Yes it's quite small but it works for the people of Tanzania. It's very clean too though it's outskirts are semi-arid
Even a half part of Kenya is desert and semi-desert
It's dry season
@naturalgirldiy Bear in mind, the trip was made during a regional dry-season☀️
@@theafricanrenaissance77 I was unaware it got that dry. You learn everyday...
Am travelling with you! so far I like Tanzanian terrain and views.
Thank you. They are indeed beautiful
I was in Dodoma a few weeks ago for the first time. Seeing this video, it has given me fresh and fond memories of the city. ❤
Glad to hear that and thank you for watching
Hadzabe tribe wear wild animal skin. They are from TZ , I don't know the exact region where they live. They are hunters and gatherers UpTo to date. They click sounds in their language. Check out the tribe, have very interesting culture
Thank you for the information. I wish to meet them one day on my Tanzanian escapes
This was so much fun,.
Yes it was
Jane and Victor have been a great addition to ur channel... They should stay forever.
The main tribes in Dodoma are Gogos, Rangis and Sandawes as you said. Sandawes and Rangis are found in northern part of Dodoma around Kondoa district. Though they really speak with clicking sound like bush men of Southern Africa, but they no longer wear goat skins.
Thank you for the insight
Thought dodoma was a maasailand tooo traditionally
Brave ladies. Building lifetime memories ❤
Best memories ever. Thank you for watching
I bumped into this channel today, and let me tell you Maina, am here to stayyyy
Welcome to the family Jane. Huku ni Raha tu😃. This is Episode 3 of the trip. There are Episode 1 and 2 already posted, check them out. Many more episodes to come. Karibu sana
Tanzania is beautiful I would like to visit it as my first country
Great choice. It will exceed your expectations
Tha railway line is Tanzania Zambia Railway (TAZARA). The rail line was built by Chinese in 70s The line runs from Dar es Salaam to Kapirimposhi in Zambia. The line is a cape gauge so there is a connection from Kapirimposhi to South Africa. The tourists train that sometimes use the line from South Africa to Dar es Salaam is a private owned called RAVOS.
Yes, that's accurate. Thank you
Yes. I pray we could expand this system to the rest of Africa. RAVOS is a pioneer and that is okay... however we need another option - more affordable for us normal folk 🙂
Enjoy... following from Kampala-UGANDA East Africa 🎉🎉🎉
Watching from Kigali, Capital city doesn't have to be the biggest or the richest city. It's sometimes good to decongest.
That's a good point
Makambako is always cold
They recently did the speed trial for the electric train..it's quite fast over 250kms/h
30:18 mama solemba restaurant. At iringa. Nice food there reasonable prices
Delicious food too
10:17 Actually, Dar es salaam was initially the capital city of Tz but since it was too far, Dodoma was made the capital city since it is more centralized location in Tz.
Dodoma was announced the Capital city of Tanzania since Mwalimu Nyarere regime! Ever since the implementation was being done step by step including ....
1. To make sure the infrastructure particularly roads are well grounded to make sure Dodoma is reachable from every angle of Tanzania. This was much highlighted during President Jakaya Kikwete regime when Magufuli was the minister responsible for infrastructure
2. As Dodoma is dry, so the government needed to ascertain there is enough water to serve the population before all the government activities moved to Dodoma (Which was also accomplished as now despite the fact that Dodoma is dry, the City has enough water supply to serve the population)
.... those are some of the reasons as from what I know
Thanks for the info
Hey Liv Kenya, good stuff. I have been following your series closely for a quite sometime. I was wondering if you could purchase a 20-25 litre Jerrycan to buy extra fuel at Shell or Total and avoid buying fuel at local petrol stations since that can affect your car engine. Otherwise , much love from Uganda. we are enjoying 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Thanks for the advice bboysnappy
My guys I am enjoying this vlogs so much like I was with them on the road trip...thanks Liv and company for frying the Kenyan frag all the way to south Africa 🎉🎉🎉
Welcome Geoffrey. Thank you for watching
Tanzania is soo beautiful
If you could have enough time in Dodoma you could visit the Magufuli city
Its were the actual administrative capital is
We will visit it once the construction is completed
You are inspiring me to tour Tanzania their landscape..hills.. plateau everything
Great adventunture there following the trip all the way from bahrain....keep them coming
More to come!
Dar es Salaam WAS the capital city of Tanzania upto 1996 when it was moved to Dodoma. Dar is at the extreme Eastern end of Tz and it was far from most of the country. It was moved to Dodoma which is more central than Dar. Same thing that happened in Nigeria when the capital was moved from Lagos to Abuja. Dar remains the commercial capital of Tz while Dodoma is the administrative capital
Thank you so much for the update
I will not miss a single episode
You guys inspired me, I wanna have a road trip someday too, from Nairobi to Durban, and back yk
That will be awesome 👏 I am glad that you are inspired by our adventure

Welcome to Tanzania brothers and sisters.
Dodoma has a lot of varities of wine, pls test one.
We will in our next trip
The fish you ate is called " Perege" in swahili.
I bought it again on our way back
@@LIVKENYALiv you have now switched the appetite to fish from meat??!au perege tests different?I 😊

It really is! I am glad that you are inspired
The background music on the videos is on point
What an adventure
Nice trip liv it’s a pleasure to watch you always ❤🎉,stay safe can’t wait for the next episode 😊 Tanzania 🇹🇿 seems very huge and beautiful, watch your economy (Kenya) you might be surpassed with all these potentials ❤😂
That's true. If only they knew there potential.
Oooooh woooow, this is an incredible crew ever, I love the eloquence of the grate lady seated at the back right, she is just a GEM, always on point and very articulate on her expression... Keep it up, next time i might join this team for a serious exploration ... I cant wait for the next episode ... VIVA.
Thank you you and you're welcome
dar was the original capital but it was relocated to dodoma but govt officials were reluctant to leave the comforts of dar until magufuli forced it that's why it never really developed
Amazing views along the way. What an adventure you've had!
Indeed, Tanzania is very beautiful.
Liv,you have really made my night...I laughed my heart out regarding the Tanzanian people trusting anyone with their goods when you think of what will happen to you if you try that in any part of Kenya.
Iam proud of you guys for making our country be known by you guys taking the brutal trip.
36:49 the railway is called TAZARA (TANZANZIA-ZAMBIA RAILWAY LINE). connects Tanz Dar es salaam to ZA-Kapiri Mposhi
I am sharing this with my south African friend...I love you liv with your team, you are simple but yet unique in your own way.
I am very proud of you, thats a great and big decesion you decide
super super awesome content Olivia n team . Adia should create a new RUclips for bloopers and extra footage you don't include in liv kenya page. Did you know Adia is a girl's name that travels beautifully.
Thank you. I will float the idea to her. I didn't know that that was the meaning of Adia
I can't wait till we welcome you in South Africa....lovely to see your journey though our beautiful African towns and cities. I pray God protects you through out!

Amazing..❤❤ Tanzania is beautiful cant wait for the next episode
Thank you Ann
Dodoma was made to be a city because is at the centre of Tanzania, it is easy for government to serve all Tanzanians from Dodoma than Dar es salaam ,it is growing at very fast pace
Makes sense. Thank you for enlightened us
In my house you’re known as if you were met before yanı Tunakupenda sana sisi ni Wabongo from Dar living in London UK 🇬🇧 we love you. I wish I can mee you!
Hi Liv I used the same route heading to Namibia last year… it was a fun experience wait until you experience Zambian Rd.. as for the elevated iron sheet roofing in TZ I ask a local because I was fascinated and they told me it’s because of cooling effects.. the elevated iron sheet so that it controls the temperature inside the house.. so that’s when it’s hot during summer the house it’s still cool…
That place looks nice. It is dry reminds me somewhere in Arizona or near Las Vegas. Hiyo fluid ya ac inaitwa Freon.
Freon, now I have learnt something new. Thank you
I love this road trip series. My dream is to one day do a trip from Kenya to Namibia by road.
N/B: From my research Namibia is so vast and isolated so shida ya fuel inaweza kua noma. Get enough fuel when you reach there coz you'll be travelling many kilometres isolated in the desert wilderness.
Enjoy the adventure and safe journey to South Africa.
Glad you enjoying the series. Thanks for the advice
I'm throughly enjoying the Kenya to SA videos so far. You're doing an amazing job. I work in IT, so whenever you upload an episode, I always have my tea, my monitors, laptop etc...and I work as I watch y'all. My best times working...lol
Thank you so much!!
On your way back...you got to visit Magufuli city
Will be back
Semi-arid and arid climates make for the sweetest watermelon due to the intense heat. Best Kenyan watermelon I've tasted are from Turkana, Isiolo, Marsabit, Wajir, Garisa and Mandera counties.

Makambako is so cold
And Southern Tanzania (Iringa,Njombe and Mbeya) This regions are the coldest in the country
In Makambako Tanzania, November is the hottest month of the year, temperatures in Makumbako typically range from 15°C to 25°C, while in July the coldest month of the year it typically range from 9°C to 21°C. And elevation of urban Makambako,Tanzania is at 4849 feet from the sea level.
