As long as the Ford family own the Lions, they'll never compete. As long as the fans keep going to the games, the Ford's use the Lions as a tax write-off. Keep on losing.
How ironic, the NE Patriots who wear blue jerseys and silver helmets go 16-0 in the regular season and almost went 19-0 in the 2007 season. The Detroit Lions who also wear blue jerseys and silver helmets go 0-16 in the 2008 season.
The only time where 2 teams go back to back 2 years in row where both records have a 0 in them. One team goes 16-0 and the other goes 0-16. The only other time that comes close is where the 14-0 dolphins in 72 and 0-14 buccaneers in 76. But those were different years but same decade. Since both Patriots and Lions attained their records nobody has broken their records. The patriots is safe and nobody will ever come close to breaking it. This year is the 10 year anniversary of the patriots going 16-0 but they wont be celebrating that instead they'll be celebrating their 5th Superbowl title. The Lions record is safe at least for now we've seen teams come close but the lions are the only one to go winless in the 16 game season era.
This is true. That's probably why the possibility of the Browns going winless doesn't have the same feel to me as the Lions doing it 9 yrs ago. Btw, has NFL Network and ESPN talked about this year's Browns the same way they did about the '08 Lions? I haven't really watched much of either channel this year, aside from live games.
I’m a bit late but this has been an incredibly entertaining video over the last dozen-plus years since the Detroit Lions 2008 fiasco. I came back to listening to this after the Lions clinched the NFC North for the first time in 30 years and won their first playoff game in 32 years! It’s now very strange to listen to this now since the Lions have finally put this era behind them once and for all and made it to the NFC championship. I’m far from a lions fans but putting aside team preferences, I was thrilled at the Lions success and watched as the awful scars of 2008 were finally laid to rest. I would love to hear your take on the Lions 2023 season especially since it was a near total contrast with 15 years earlier.
As a Packers fan, I think the Lions are a dangerous team. They finally have a coach that knows what he is doing, they don't do the stupid things like they used to, and they have scary players, especially on offense. Just a few thoughts.
Right but the Defensive line took a hit and unlike you fans, the Packers actually have a godlike QB in Rodgers. Stafford sits there like a Chicken just waiting to get Sacked
Mach68 They won that game because their defensive backs were grabbing Packers receivers all over the place, and the Packers offense was out of sync for most of the game.. It wasn't until after McCarthy talked to the officials that they finally got a call.
Aaron Brown ? He's your ace in the hole ? Now there's no way in hell they'll go winless (that'll be my Brownies this year, can't even be the first team to do it) but... as I sadly had to learn when I moved from Cleveland, evaluating your own talent when you see them every week is quit different then seeing someone like AP does, every week.
Keep hope alive. They should have fired everybody from Mayhew to the waterboy and anybody else affilated with Matt Millen. As Ford owns the Lions, they will never win shit.
Jim Rome. Does the man have a single athletic bone in his body? It was kinda funny at first but toward the end he was trying to hard to be hurtful. My Lions WILL win a Super Bowl (hopefully, before I die).
Man, I hate Jim Rome (wish Everett had broke the smirking asshole in half all those years ago), but he had our number. I'm still a huge Lions fan...but that was a terrible year...
ROFLZ "As for my man rod marinelli; you shovel is still sharp your will is still outstanding, and I really do hate that something so brutal had to happen to such a good man... BUT BETTER THEN FOR IT TO HAPPEN TO YOU THEN NOBODY AT ALL... ROFLZ
@lebutzki Sad to say, I think that you're right. Only when WCF Sr. takes the dirt nap will the Detroit Lions have a chance to be a decent NFL franchise.
I remember these shows... Makes the current lions run all the more sweeter.
I'm a Lions fan and I was laughing out loud at that. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you get a bucket of confetti dumped on you
This running gag made the 2008 Lions all the more fun and enjoyable. Man's game
Cleveland Browns are on their way!
I'm watching this in memory of William Clay Chrysler.
ahhh, the sarcasam, it's... it's in my eyes!!!!
even jim rome knew it was not if it will be but when 2022 the year and the north will never forget ever.
That Lion's team was so inspiring that the Browns had to see what it was like 👍
Proud Cleveland fan.
Dear Detroit.....EMBRACE THE SUCK!!!!!!!
The dream lives, long live the dream.
The dream.
Today's the 15th anniversary of the Lions going 0-16. And they're glad they're marking it with an NFC North title.
And another one, maybe the whole division?
@@volstron We'll soon find out. I have the Niners beating them, but you never know. Plus, if Deebo is out, the Lions might have a slight chance.
Doing the banquet circuit. ha ha
As long as the Ford family own the Lions, they'll never compete. As long as the fans keep going to the games, the Ford's use the Lions as a tax write-off. Keep on losing.
At Ford Field that year, lack of quality was Job One!!! HEY-OOOOOOO!!!

The Lions record is not safe as long as the Browns exist.
Like I said...
It's about time.. I had them picked to win it too.
it's like having a kid but multiply that by 1,000 hahaha i love it
Rome is awesome
If the Browns go 0-16, it'll be interesting to see if he does something similar to this for the Browns.
finchborat I think since the Lions were the pioneers, they will always be the most special in Jim's heart, haha
This is true. That's probably why the possibility of the Browns going winless doesn't have the same feel to me as the Lions doing it 9 yrs ago. As someone who has interest in bad teams & tanking. I wanna experience this
This is so funny, I wish I could've heard this live.
can anyone imagine jim rome growing old in a nursing home?

The day Ford Sr. dies is the day the Lions will have a heartbeat
Hello Detroit, how are you after this weekend.
It's funny how much he wants the Lions to do great this season
REPEAT!
REPEAT!
REPEAT!
Come on Detroit, you can do it!!!
just too hilarious.
We ran the table backwards and now we are on the verge of running the table forwards. 5-0.

0-5, the most dangerous defeated team out there
+Blad3sofWaR I said I was a Packers fan. Duh.
+Mike G. And somehow, they beat the Packers on the road.
Mach68 They won that game because their defensive backs were grabbing Packers receivers all over the place, and the Packers offense was out of sync for most of the game.. It wasn't until after McCarthy talked to the officials that they finally got a call.
I was REALLY hoping that the Dolphins would have done it in '07. It would have been great. Too bad the Dolphins are playing better now.
My dream is for the Raiders to go 0-16.
Cry Gay Niner fan
OMG jim rome is hilarious, brutal!!!!
repeat! Repeat! fuckin lions
They have the worst management ever. That's why they lost Barry Sanders and why they haven't won a championship since pre-NFL/AFL merger.
So hilarious, yet so demoralizing!
We’re on our way to the dream 2.0
0-10-1 🤦🏽
Aaron Brown ? He's your ace in the hole ?

lol well at least theyll never be a super bowl contender again as long as al davis is alive. may he live to be 1000!
Aged poorly
Lol Raiders just went 0-16 in my chise. I think the Raiders might be the next team to do so in real life.
Not anymore!
as said before.. quit dreaming. It's not happening this year.
the 1976 bucks went 0-14
Weren’t they an expansion team then?
ugh , my buccaneers are next -_-
Keep hope alive. They should have fired everybody from Mayhew to the waterboy and anybody else affilated with Matt Millen. As Ford owns the Lions, they will never win shit.
This was karma for wishing and hating on the Dolphins during the 2007 season
talk about records that wont be broken....how you gonna go 0-16 lol.....0-8 at home? how...why...what?....you cant beat the vikings at home
@1992lance
yeah srry
@AutobotLover u mean bucs
its 0-32
LOL Lions
This guy Rome sure is a sarcastic SOB. Popular, too. I stopped listening to his rant at 1:22.
aaaaaaand they are back where they belong, at the very bottom of the NFL's deepest, darkest cesspool.
stop dreaming for that... that's not gonna happen
Jim Rome. Does the man have a single athletic bone in his body? It was kinda funny at first but toward the end he was trying to hard to be hurtful. My Lions WILL win a Super Bowl (hopefully, before I die).
***** He was a very good tennis player when he was growing up. That may not be one of the big 4 sports, but it beats not being athletic.
Man, I hate Jim Rome (wish Everett had broke the smirking asshole in half all those years ago), but he had our number. I'm still a huge Lions fan...but that was a terrible year...
Hello after so many years, still a Lions fan?
jim rome is my least favorite person on espn and i think he sounds like a duche
Rome is a Lions fan?
"The Dream Season" LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROFLZ
"As for my man rod marinelli; you shovel is still sharp your will is still outstanding, and I really do hate that something so brutal had to happen to such a good man... BUT BETTER THEN FOR IT TO HAPPEN TO YOU THEN NOBODY AT ALL... ROFLZ

0-36 Baby.
Now Lets do that again.
If the Lions go 0-36 The Lions will be No More
@Perfect7en The Colts Choked. Which is what makes the Lions so special.
No Rome’s........ hilarious
I like the take with the shovel
In-credible.
