- To celebrate 9 years since the birth of the very first Isamu litter, I would like to raise some funds for two rat related causes close to my heart. The NFRS research fund and Woodgreen animal rescue, this video explains why and celebrates a very special 28 month day for you Bercow fans. If you would like to donate please go to www.justgiving... or donate directly via woodgreen.org.... and PayPal to treasurer@nfrs.org (stating it’s a donation for the research fund).
Congratulations Jemma and Isamu Rats!! Bercow is living with the boys ?!? Amazing and 28 months as well. He such a guy.
Today without logging in to my Google account I can not, and could not, find your channel. Prior, I had to do alot of searching to find you and found you searching on rat info for weeks. Then after searching logged in, unintentionally...): I respect your channel and think you should be more easily found by everyone. Sorry.
I hope I relayed that clearly... O.O
Thought you should know. Happy Holidays
Thank you, I’ll be honest I’m technologically inept so have no idea how to fix that but I will try and Google it
Wood green rescue are really good 😊 and this is a really good thing you are doing isamu
Thank you, I’m thrilled that pet have actually been donating. If we can do anything for causes like that it feels worthwhile
Congratulations on your 9 year breeding anniversary and hurray for Bercow!
Thank you, time has really flown, I still remember my first litter so clearly
That wine rack is a brilliant idea.
We did have a woodgreen down here in Northampton, but it closed down and became a plant shop 🤦♂️ il look into donating asap
Congratulation! 9 years! wow. Great causes you've chosen here. Happy 28 months to Bercow too :)
Thank you I’ll pass that on to him
As a woman in my early twenties just starting out as a Rattery - you're such an inspiration! I have been rescuing rats my whole life- but it has become my new mission as a rat lover to provide both quality pet rats and a quality of life that these wonderful creatures truly deserve. I've been tirelessly researching genetics, husbandry, health, diet, and your educational videos/website have been such great resources in my journey these past few years. I hope to as knowledgeable and experienced as you some day!
Aww thank you, you definitely sound like your going about it really well. If you ever want to chat about it drop me a message on Facebook.
@@IsamuRatCare Thank you sm! :)
Happy 28 months Bercow 🥳🎂
He’s doing so well, was trotting in the wheel the other night, uses it more than the other lads and he’s got fairly advanced hld lol
This is a lovely idea❤ Giving back to the little ones that gave given so much to us. Rats are amazing.
Can I ask, is there anywhere particular online that's quite good for learning more about rats and their behaviour?I love learning about them, but I seem to struggle to find a good sources for it :)
I do like www.ratbehaviour.org , it is however a fair bit out of date in some areas but still a useful site. I also got a lot out of a book called “the story of rats” which looks at lab rats, wild rats and other species of rats from various points of view but there’s a fair bit behaviourally in there. Nice summary of scientific research
@@IsamuRatCare Thankyou very much, will definetly check both out! Xx
Off topic questions in regards to rat nutrition. I'm trying to find dried veggies for my rat's mix. Are soup dry mixes that have dehydrated potatoes safe for rats?
Yes they should be fine, thoughts keep it low on the ingredients, the issue with potatoes are when they are green
I know this about something different from the video but I've learned alot from u and I have just 1 question at the moment, what is the best water to give my rats? I've been giving them bottled water and I'm not sure if it's the right choice...
I like to offer them a choice, so I’ll give them a couple bottles for normal drinking and then I also have a coup cup I add water too which they sometimes prefer but it’s more likely to get mucky as they accidentally get poo in it or breeding so they’ve always got the water bottle too. Some rat’s love to wash there face in it, dunking the whole head in
Thank you but I meant filtered or bottled water I know I can't give them tap water..
It actually depends where you are in the world. Here in the U.K. tap water is fine (actually pretty good round me as at soft water too). It’s something that very much needs to be local. A good rule of thumb is if you need to be careful or not give it to kids then don’t give it your rat’s. The choice between filtered and bottles would really depend on what your needing to filter out. If the filter does that I would go filtered as quite a lot of bottled water has added minerals and those can build up in a humans life time and cause issues, saying that they are unlikely to have time to build up in a rats life time
@@IsamuRatCare thank you so much
