I'm pretty sure the Bad Blood comment was a reference to one of Scanlan's inspirational songs - "Well now Whitestone's got problems, and now we really can't solve them, unless we make really deep cuts, so baby show me that Grog blood!"

The reason for Pike's hair change is actually something we've never seen, it happened pre-stream and the comics aren't there yet! I think we might see it, and I'm nervous.
Also, not the season one callback between the buddies 😢

Probably won’t see it until next season - they seem to be following a character flashback / associated vestige or character development episode pattern, and they definitely won’t get to the Plate of the Dawnmartyr by season’s end.

I really wonder how they're gonna do Pike's hair, if at all.
      Spoilers
We know from the Story of Vox Machina (a summary of the campaign pre-stream) that Pike was killed by a glabrezu (literally cut in half), and her hair turned white when she was resurrected. The problem is, this fight was AFTER Brimscythe. So, when would this have happened in the show?

@@mathybrain8 Probably just put it out of order? Keyleth’s Pyrah trial was canonically before the Briarwoods and they basically just merged the two separate visits into one event here

I think it's more like being in an environment that he knows. During most of his adventuring with VM, he knows he can count on Pike, Scanlan or one of the others to figure out what to do. But growing up in the Herd he was one of them, and it seems an up and comer. We see him show more initative and ideas in the present as well, since it has to do with the Herd again.

    The other C2 reference:
Sorta like the background shot of Caduceus in Vasselheim, in the final zoom from Kevdak to Grog, the camera whips past someone who looks a hell of a lot like Yasha before her wife died and she lost her wings.

I think episode 10 will be Grog vs. Kevdak (plus the others getting back from the Fey Realm), episode 11 will be prepping and getting everyone safe and will probably end with Umbrasyl showing up again in some way. And episode 12 will be the Umbrasyl fight.

    • @cryofpaine
      @cryofpaine Год назад +3

I'm also thinking, since Anna is involved with Umbrasyl, they might try and roll her and him together into a single boss fight where VM have to take on both of them. Maybe they let her get away for season 3, but that's a lot to cram into the next season, with 3 dragons and several vestiges to find still. Unless their deal with Amazon gives them 6 seasons, in which case they have 2 more of CC after this, then the TD arc, and then the final arc.

I mean, think about it, in that particular scene, saying "thank you for saving my great great grandfather" would be incredibly clunky and just wouldn't sound right. It's easier and more natural sounding to just say "grandfather" in that situation.

Look at that, Scanlan gets swayed by the kids again... not going to explain Pike's hair? She was bisected by a glabrezu. Her hair turned white as a result of her resurrection. Do we know if that means she didn't come back quite right? If I remember Matt's rules correctly, that's a possibility...

am i the only one who feels like they kind of stripped all the buildup and intensity out of the westruun arc? starting on the outskirts, seeing the horrific place it had become, kidnapping the patrolling guard at the farm and interrogating him, realizing what was going on, sneaking into the city culminating in the kevdak fight with ALL of vm is just so much more compelling than what they did here, splitting the party and fastforwarding to the fight.

      On the one hand, yeah,
The speak with Dead on Poor Reginald is such a great moment. And a very important lesson for Vox Machina about being more careful about their actions because they can have collateral damage and I was really hoping they were going to animate it. But on the other hand...
If they Animate every good and meaningful and interesting scene in C1 we'll have 97 seasons of The Legend of Vox Machina alone. Not that I would mind, but it's kind of an impossible task to condense such a ridiculous amount of story without losing _Any_ of the depth. Luckily that's why the campaign exists! Book vs Movie and all that.
