      the effects of CO2 are logarithmic, meaning the majority of total heating effects come from the first 20 ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere.
      At the start of the industrial revolution, the heating effect from CO2 was 233 watts/per meter square and as of now, it's only 236 w/m2. So CO2 increase since the industrial revolution has had a grand total of 3 watts per meter squared increase - negligible.

    2014 was the warmest year on the earth. North America, Europe and East Asia are the major emissions sources. America's coal plants are mostly in the Midwest and Northeast. Alberta is the center of Canada's oil industry. 90% of Americans drive to work. In 2007 China passed the US as the world's biggest CO2 emitter. Nearly 70% of China's energy comes from coal. Greenhouse gases are a global problem because wind spread them for beyond their sources. The countries most vulnerable to climate change are often some of the lowest emitters of CO2. Seasonal cycle are also a reason. The oceans absorbs about 25% of our CO2 emissions. During the spring and summer, plants absorb more CO2. Fires are the major source of emission in Africa.

    Well made visual representation. I learned a lot watching how seasonal variation summer / winter impacted atmospheric CO2. What I didn't like was the super-short time-line graph with a super-high origin that totally omits the FACT that atmospheric CO2 is not even close to all-time highs and that high CO2 amounts to more life on earth while cooling and reduced CO@ results in mass-starvation. (the year 536 could not be reached for comment). My point is this, we have no backup planet to move to, we really need to protect the one we are on, but constantly telling LIES will not win over the loyalty of skeptics, and global elites not setting the example by leading from the front only makes things worse. As an example, how many private jets fly into Davos? How INSANELY RICH do these global elites need to get before we the people figure out that they are using a real problem for their own personal gain at our expense?

    China consumes over FOUR BILLION tons of coal a year, and increasing, on power stations and making coal, and is going to continue to increase its usage up to at least 2030. India has joined the Billion Ton Club and is also increasing its coal burn. The aviation industry, which produces about 12% of global CO2, is in post-covid recovery and is breaking all sorts of volume records literally almost every day. And yes, whilst there is a massive increase in "renewables", that doesnt actually DO anything about the previous items.
    Until and unless that changes - which is very very very unlikely - then it doesnt matter what the rest of the world does to "combat" climate change. It cant fight a massive load like that.

    so in the summer for the land masses above the equator witch is where most of the land mass is. the plant life takes the co2 out of the atmosphere from what you just showed us. so if there was no winter/ice caps the plant life would be active year round and global warming stop increasing? witch is what your model shows it will hit a new balance as the earth warms up.

    Well more CO2 more plants and forests. More green , more oxigen. More oxigen reduces the CO2 concentration. This how life in earth exists for millions of years.

      WRONG assumption. Record level of Deforestation is occurring across planet earth. Deforestation PREVENTS co2 uptake.

      Boneshocks Exactly what actions? A complete switch from coal to an alternative? Is that what you mean when you say "actions"? Buddy, some companies don't do anything out of greed, but convenience, time, and money, which I can assure you would be terrible for ANY business.

    @2:21 what is this pattern?

    • @helgefan8994
      @helgefan8994 4 года назад +1

      It's the atmospheric CO2 concentration for the last 800 000 years. The pattern you see there indicates previous glacial and interglazial periods. Colloquially the cold parts (low CO2) are called "ice ages", even though technically all of those 800 000 years are part of an ice age.

    Soil Cover is Key ; Cover crops on agricultural land, and a living root in the soil at all times. Grasslands need to be restored to absorb CO2. Healthy grassland soil can hold more carbon and for longer than a forest and forest soils.

    Mind explaining how CO2 emissions are up if the Ozone is getting better?

    • @kerog6
      @kerog6 9 лет назад +11

      CO2 and ozone aren't linked at all. The ozone layer was being threatened by chlorine groups like CFCs and HCFCs, and this increased the amount of UV light making it to the surface and this is directly dangerous to living things. Since those chemical groups have been regulated, however, ozone depletion has slowed down and may be showing signs of recovery.

    • @The1Sherwin

      ***** Then why worry about CO2?

    • @kerog6
      @kerog6 9 лет назад +8

      *****
      Because CO2 traps heat in the atmosphere and acidifies the oceans, among other things.

    • @Herv3

      It's harmful to ocean life and the fishing industry, as well as plenty of secondary effects that I don't fully understand. You ought to be able to find this stuff on the internet if you look.

    This isn't solely, nor even close to being simply the result of meat consumption, as many are implying, but a result of HUMAN ACTIVITY from burning fossil fuels such as oil and coal. Reliable statistics show that there wasn't a significant increase in CO2 emissions until after the industrial revolution, what more evidence is needed?
