Yep. They complain about women being gold diggers, but often they're dating women who have to entirely depend on them financially and who only just left childhood. Men love the power imbalance, but then complain about a situation they chose to pursue, and profit from.
If you don't want a gold digger, choose a woman who has the same social power as you. That way you know she isn't chasing you for your money. But these men won't do that, because they like having someone to hold their power over. So instead they just complain and act the victim.

I once had a dog owner tell me her dog had a vasectomy and when I asked why didn't he just get neutered , she said because he has low self esteem.

OK so I had endometriosis surgery a couple of months before I saw Hannah Gadsby november 2019 and I had endo removed from my pouch of Douglas ... I have never howled so hard laughing as I did when I heard her telling that story live.
It's nice to know you laugh through the horrible pain endometriosis causes. It's inspiring

I am OBSESSED with Hannah Gadsby. She's insanely intelligent and her delivery is phenomenal.
Her interviews are just as enjoyable. There was one in particular where she was speaking openly about being on the spectrum.
I watched both her specials a few weeks ago and and I'm reading her book right now. Definitely recommend. (She also reads the audio version; I'm not usually an audiobook person but I might have to listen to it.)

Actually! As a man, I have had a 7:31 moment! I was waiting for a train when this random middle aged woman came up and said it to me! Now granted, when I'm deep in my "very important thoughts that should not be interrupted" I've been told that I look like an Easter Island head. It’s funny to me how so many ppl in the comments say that these comedians aren’t funny when they’ve only seen this video/ one clip of their shows.. Like just bc you don’t find this particular clip funny doesn’t mean that these talented ppl are trash or not really comedians.

The Gold Digger one was 🤣🤣🤣 Also, the woman who performed about Pinterest can be a good actress. She was awesome.
As an adult with autism who has sensory issues with make up and therefore never wears it, everything about the make up industry and culture around it seems so ridiculous to me. Stage and costume make up make sense, but the idea that women's natural faces aren't good enough on a daily basis while men's are is completely mind boggling. We are all human. Basic hygiene and skin care should be enough.
My brother has RBF once he was standing in line at Walmart and this little girl points up at him and says “mommy why is that man so angry”. Needless to say he came to me asking how to fix this issue, and I thought him the polite lady smile.

@@bseldon001 most women don't wear make up for men, we don't really care what they think tbh.. they wear it for themselves and partly due to social pressure to look 'put together'.. it can also give you a sense of self confidence, but can also be a bit of slippery slope if you start not liking your 'normal' face as much.. that's when it's probably a good idea to step back and not use it (or a lot less) for a while..

Men, if you think you're less superficial by saying you prefer a women who doesn't wear makeup, please know: 1) you don't actually know how makeup works, 2) you just inadvertently put pressure on the woman you're talking to to be some unattainable natural beauty, and 3) women don't put on makeup for you. They do it for themselves.

I do not care for Iliza Shlesinger. She is not taking aim at stereotypes about women. She's reinforcing them. There are much better female comedians that could have been included in this.

I don’t understand all of the hate. She’s hilarious! My favorite comedian, honestly. The hate is typically from men, and she’s a feminist lesbian, so I think I can put two and two together.
Especially because men can’t just be like, nah, she’s just not to my taste. It’s always “she’s awful!” “She’s not funny at all!!” “She’s garbage!!”
I suggest watching her stand up that this clip is from, Douglas. It’s one of the best stand ups I’ve ever seen in years. Very clever. Plus she has a bit where she does address these men who are so filled with hate at her comedy. But it’s hilarious and not at all complaining or being sorry for herself.
The gold digger fear is even funnier when guys who don't really have much are afraid they are going to end up with a gold digger.🤣

@@hanswurscht6625 She was great. I'm very familiar with the type of guy she was talking about and it's really good to hear someone put into words how those situations make us feel. When someone essentially tells me to fix my face, I really want to knee them in the balls. But I can't. And hearing a comedian address it makes me feel a lot better.

Hannah’s first Netflix special was “Nanette” and is a terrific introduction. She went on to do a second one, which is “Douglas” and both are brilliant. I so hope she does a third.

So what? You cant argue about humor. Chappelles ratings are far superior to Gadsbys, so he's clearly the better man.
Hannah is so incredibly good, that's incredible! Though, I did not feel comfortable with everything Iliza said, like it sounds just sexist to me.
I know I'm late to the party here but I think whenever I see a middle aged man not looking 'happy' I'm now going to say "Cheer up! It might never happen!" hahahahaha
Had to fast forward through Iliza. But the rest were great 😊. (Iliza has gotten better, but her comedy used to stereotype women as if we are all shallow wedding obsessed losers . . This set showed was not great). I love the rest, though. Hannah and Chelsea are my favorites. Whitney is always funny.
Yeah, I couldn't relate to that at all. I didn't dream of a wedding growing up at all. I first really started thinking about wanting to get married 2 years into a relationship with my now husband, and we didn't even get married till 10 years in. All the planning was done in about a month, made the favors with cuttings of my succulents, twine and slices of wood my mom gathered. My aunts, mom and cousins did decorations. It was at my aunts house. My dad made an arch we decorated with flowers and got married under, husband's good friend inniciated. My mom made my bouquet, his boutonniere and simple centerpiece florals. I made our cake and cupcakes, a pasta dish, and lemonade. Other family members made other dishes. I bought my dress for $80 and got my makeup done at a makeup counter of an indie makeup brand, that unfortunately went under later. The girls did a great job and even did my hair! It was a family event, fairly laidback and simple and we enjoyed it more than any grand wedding I could have obsessively planned. Plus, I'm not a fan of being the center of attention.
