I bought and returned a lot of XLR splitter cables on Amazon in the past week 😅This length, durability and quality are why I kept this one: geni.us/iCjnA - not a lot of extra slack in the cable! Also, the b-roll slider shots were filmed with the Slypod Pro. Testing one out, what do you think of the b roll?
Help me understand this. Right now on my a7siii I use the DJI mics. I have two Lav's recording at the same time. One left channel and one right channel but it comes out as a single audio file. Then in post I just split the channels and make them stereo. Can't I do the same on the FX6? Id rather do that and be able to keep a shotgun mic on the FX6 in the 2nd XLR port. Does that make sense?
Nice video, thinking of getting the DJI kit for my FX6. What's your preferred method of adjusting the gain for a quiet person? Do you do it on the FX6 or on the DJI Mic Kit?
This was super helpful just got a set of the mics and I'm using them with my pocket 6K and Ursa and the solution will work with the ursa's XLR ports which is awesome! thanks.
Nice Video. I went through a few cables before I decided to pony up and pay for the [Cable Techniques 3.5mm Right-Angle TRS to Dual Low-Profile 3-Pin XLR Male Y Cable (15")]. Costs a wallet burning $75 but is excellent quality and low profile which I love. I use Cable Techniques XLR cables for all my on-cam XLR wiring and I'll never go back.
I'll have to look into that cable! It sounds like a more compact cable than this one. Not that it's that large, but will keep that in mind. I've bought enough cables this month as it is 😅 😅
I havent tested that out - in theory it would work, but let me do a quick test later today and I’ll get back to you! I’ll test it with my shotgun mic and DJI mic in mono with one of the splitters plugged in

Yes! I have a brand new fx6 and I had no idea how to set up the mic!! Thanks so much !! This video will definitely help me out alot
first of all THANK YOU!!!!! this has been driving me crazy and there are no videos anywhere to explain this. you have just saved my FX6 😂
Thanks for this!
Thanks Keith!
Hey keith thanks for the info. Do you know what kind of cable I need if I have only 1 channel of audio recording with the rode mic go I?
How do you connect an FX6 with Rode Wireless Go II with a transmitter for live stream.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
Awesome! Glad it helped

You can do it on the receiver which is plugged into the camera. It’s really nice - you can also boost headphone volume only
kind of sucks we lose the ability to run out NTG3 microphones with the DJI Mic system.

Glad it helped, and good to know this will work with the ursa too! Does the ursa have a 3.5mm jack?
@@keith-knittel no it has two XLRs on the top

Does this cable work if I wanted to record mono and plug one in?
Would love to have the flexibility to also use a shotgun mic

Did you do your quick test and if yes, what was the outcome?
