      @@earldrum covers don't make nearly anything correct?
      From what I've seen those guys have way bigger channels and several revenue streams. Were I'm clearly not an educator "drum lessons" and I'm not really into covers I'm kinda of a niche within a niche haha my expectations are very low. I know covers are a good way to get eyes on you and typically the bigger channels that do covers really do them to get other work. For me I'm just doing what I normally do, working on drums and throwing up a camera while I'm at it. I never and still do not have any expectations of being a YT sensation 🤣 it would be nice if it at least cover some of what I invested already in equipment and like I said upgrading other stuff but that will probably take decades lol also I still really have no idea as far as videography goes. I don't think people realize the time and effort it takes to do even simple videos like mine, especially when I have no idea what I'm doing haha

    Great channel! I find watching drum restoration cathartic, I love the US kit's from the golden age being restored back to their best.
    I've played drums for a while now, I've gigged and recorded quite a lot so I do appreciate the older drums out there.
    I'm from the UK and have a few drum sets built up over the years, the Gretsch and Ludwig set's from the 60's and 70's go for ever increasing sums of money here, they really are like rocking horse sh*te to get hold of, to get them for an affordable price is impossible but the most important thing, I'm trying to say... is that they're given the love and respect they deserve.
    Brilliant Job! Great channel and subbed.

    Fast bond vs say a Titebond for repairs of small areas. Preference or reason?
    I've found using stainless round bar 3/8" or 1/2 as needed, works great for legs and spurs that can't be found. Don't have to worry about rusting ends if cut
    Your presentation of work needed to clean up/repair gives the unknowing an idea of what's involved
    A powered buffing wheel would be a good addition to your tool arsenal
    Enjoy the videos

    Wondering if you have recommendations for sourcing wraps for vintage era drums.

    • @shawnsdrumcave
      @shawnsdrumcave  Год назад

      Thanks! Vintage wraps are tough, I don't have a source. there's precision drum in NY and jamming Sam's but what they sell now doesn't always match. I got the inlay for this from precision which matches pretty good. If it's something like mod orange or champagne sparkle, unless you find scraps or some NOS stuff you're out of luck. • @shawnsdrumcave
      @shawnsdrumcave  4 месяца назад
