Everything in this video about John is spot on. There is one thing I never hear mentioned when talking about John's greatness and forgive me if it's mentioned in the earlier video you made and referenced in this one. That is that anytime I watch John pull he rarely if ever has fouls called against him. His arm wrestling game is so good and true that he never has to rely on lifting his elbow off the mat, false starting, trying to find a cheating grip or crawling under the table to perform the queens move to stay alive or gain and advantage. John's advantage like you said is his hard work, table I.Q. and flawless technique.
Absolutely spot on observation. John is and always be the GOAT. 40 years and still very very relevant. Thank you Mr Brzenk for your class and genuine humbleness. Atrue sportsman and great champion.
Absolutely amazing breakdown and mini documentary. There truly is no one like John Brzenk and to be honest, I don’t think there ever will be anyone close to JB in arm wrestling. He dominated his sport more than Jordan, Lebron, Brady, any sports figure you can think of, he was better at his sport than they were at theirs. Truly John Brzenk is the Greatest of all time.
Hey man, couldn't have said it better. I would like to add that he was also a really nice guy and had real respect for others, some machine! I really pray he comes to know the Jesus of the Bible.
His versatility is what really sets him apart of other legends of the sport like Devon, Travis, Ron or Denis. Not just being literally unstoppable for almost three decades, but the way he was able to find a different key to every one of his opponents. He is in his own league. Truly THE GOAT.
Yes but not so much Devon. Devon is probably the most versatile arm wrestler of all time. But, his elbows blew out while he was on top. Another thing that’s impressive is that Devon has been champ and equally versatile with his left as well. With that being said, John is still GOAT with decades of consistently being on top.
@@johnbraucher1499 Devon is versatile but he was never good in tournaments. He's never won WAF for example. John was amazing at both tournaments and super matches.
@@AW-Luke 👊✊💪 BTW..... Keep your eyes open buddy. I'm going to be doing some videos in about a week. I think you'll find them quite interesting. You will see. ;). Hope you're doing well brother 🤘
His techniques exploiting whatever weakness or vulnerability of his opponent, and having no weakness himself is one way he was the unquestionable GOAT. Also his training and emphasis on practice with so many vs weight training. This is how he beat stronger men. So yes, he was the smartest at his sport. Fierce mental competitor also. Endurance too.
For those who haven’t seen the documentary on John Brzenk it’s called Pulling John and a great movie. I highly recommend it especially getting to see Voevoda train at his best.
I appreciate videos like these which increases respect to the great armwrestlers who are not socially active.. new armwrestlers will not know much about these super stars these days.. Loving this kind of videos and hoping u to cover technique videos of all prominent armwrestlers in the world.. Great work bro👍👌
Very good video! I got into arm wrestling through Devon and schoolboy. Once I googled who's the best arm wrestler and saw it's John brznek by that time I had no idea who he is. Thanks to your video now I know more!
Brzenk is like a shadow that travels on the wind, meeting his opponents at the table for an instant to ride onto the next victory that comes both quick and expected.
Something that I think is interesting after watching old ARMTV videos is that John and his brother Bill pulled very similar with angles, body positions, movements, etc. It’s just John was a little better and a little stronger. They look like each other pulling.
This is a great analysis of johns technique. Great video tho, thanks for the awesome content. i wonder if you guys could make this into a series, analysing other armwrestlers like this as well, paticularly pushkar ,trubin, ongrbaev, devon, MT, and other famous armwrestlers.
@@Alex-1750 well well well, how the turntables. You didnt have to comment that, but thanks ᕙ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕗ. People shouldn't hate on other people because of personal opinions in the first place anyways, lets be more open minded bro
Later on John came out in a video that he said that a doctor told him that he was born with over developed bicept tendon which makes his grip super strong and can easily arm wrestle people even bigger guys. Same for other famous arm wrestlers too who have been born with the same over developed bicep tendons. Its more of a gift !!!
that may be a part of it, but he did table time for years, weekly, since his childhood. don't ever think you become the best in anyting just by being gifted. that may help you when you get in the last 1% bracket.
@@TNM001 Well yeah I'm not taking anything away from him. There's this Russian kid who was also born with the same overly strong bicep tendon and he's dominating since he was 12 years old against grown men !!! He will now compete with Devon Lerratt !!!
This channel does the best quality video on armwrestling currently without a doubt... But I would love to have more information on the way John Brzenk trains... I heard that he never trained in a gym, he only focused on training on table... Can you tell us more about that? Maybe even interview the guy?
Brzenk doesn’t get the respect he deserves on the world stage. He was more dominant in his sport, and for far longer, than Jordan, Federer, Ruth, Woods... I’m not sure there’s ever been a more complete domination of a sport by one competitor. Any ideas?
If you haven't seen John in real life then you don't even understand of how gifted he is aswell. I was fortunate enough to see him in person and even grip up one time. He is so well balanced and looks pretty massive in person. Especially his arm and hands. His hand might be a huge reason why he is that good also. I dont think I ever gripped up with anybody that has a hand like John.
You are so right! More important than lifting weights is practice, technique and, above all, a mind that acts from the inner center (chest) rather than from the arms alone.
This video was from 2020 how come it has a current thumbnail from John's almost current match he had with Irakil last year towards the very end of last year I think or was it this year in January but yeah why?
@@haagenneldeberg6787 so cheating a little bit to a level which is ignorable, bit by bit by bit until your elbow is clearly off the pad or atleast the lower bone of it making it hooked on the pad, tyring out your opponents who are renowned specifically for their stamina and pinning them in the end. Amazing content as always Coach Ray. It seems to be getting even better all the time. You could do more character profiles of other iconic/special armwrestlers. Go over what made them great/effective, or how they compensated for weaknesses. I'd watch that series. Great work!
