- Oh boy they've done it, the Cleveland Indians are this close to winning their first title in forever, this probably means more to their ace than anyone else, he's been there since 1990 and this is the closest he's ever come to earning his first career ring. In today's video we discuss Charles Nagy, the forgotten ace of the 90's Indians.
(this is gonna be another long one) Спорт
sorry for saying Indians once every 830 words btw
They well always be the Cleveland Indians!!!!!!!!
@@alienbotfarm187 they'll always be the Cleveland spiders to me dude! I remember the good ol days
😅
You're technically allowed to call them that since that's what they were called back then!
@@the_claydog02 I should've put a "period accurate racism" disclaimer at the beginning
I hated when my Dbacks let him go in 2013. I pulled for Cleveland before Arizona got a team and so I was already a fan of his. And as you highlighted he made a tremendous difference for that staff.
next time he should consider more attempted murder if he wants to keep a job
@@justmaxproductions ah
Ah Ah
Ah Ah Ah
The goat. You should do a video bout how the Giants collapsed.2014-2022
As a Giants fan that'd ease the pain of this season
😂. I'm a dodgers fan
No do the Twins’ collapse.
21:55 “The Late Wade Boggs”
But… he’s still alive.
that's why I made this, to honor his legend, may he R.I.P
Fucking elite comment I didn't notice he said that lol
He was never the same after getting knocked out in Moe's Bar. RIP
That was really fun, and well-conceived/executed.
Plus, I was always a big Nagy fan. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Ur content is absolutely incredible. You should have a million subs man. KEEP THIS UP!
This content is so good. You deserve to have more subscribers than you do right now I hope you make it big. Keep up the amazing work 👍
I just commented the same thing on his 2016 Year of the Comeback video.. it blows my mind that he doesn't have a million subs..
All he needs is for RUclips to recommend his videos..bc the quality is there.
you've put out some good ones so far but this is the best yet, keep up the great work 👍👍👍
Obvious stupidity aside, how nice of Manny to call his teammate when he thought he was in trouble
Beloved Indians fan. It hurts my heart to see anything Indians related lol. May my team rip.
Looks like you'll have to get beyond the heartache to truly appreciate the same franchise. They haven't gone anywhere.
Sorry that the woke Twitter crowd ruined the team name. They will always be the Indians to me and majority of fans.
He was the Earnest Byner of that team - did all that work but ended up being the pitcher whose glove wasn’t big enough to give up a hit to end it all.
if bro was 6′ 5″ that game would've gone into the 12th
Another absolute banger of a video. Keep up the amazing work dude!
Found your channel recently. Great stuff I love it
Steve. You make great videos and love the commentary. Great stuff!!!
When i found your channel a few days ago you had less that 8 thousand subs love to see a great channel grow
Charles Nagy was definitely underrated! He was a gentleman and a scholar. He wasn’t HOF worthy, in my opinion, but he had his moments.
This is so good how do you not have more subs?
bro love the better call Saul music at 11:15
Finally some love for my team
I grew up as a fan of the mid-90s Indians and Charles Nagy was one of my favorites, but I could have done without a play by play of one of the most heart-breaking games in my baseball fandom.
hey I have willingly revisited the 2019 World Series like 3 times
I've done the same with the 2011 World Series. Doesn't make it any less painful.
They’ll always be the Indians to me. Appreciate the video!
🚨great work .. I just saw ur channel recently it’s dope .. Plz do a story on the 2007 Mets 🤦♂️ 👍
Well, this was great.
i love this channel so much especially becauGURRIEL has tied it.
Babe wake up, new Steve Nash Productions vid just dropped
Ill always remember Nagy for the 1997 postseason in two games. For going pitch-by-pitch against Mike Mussina in game 6 on the ALCS in Baltimore, and for not being given the start in game 7 of the World Series, and Cleveland instead decided to go with Jaret Wright.
the strategy worked for 6 innings tbf
Great content very entertaining! Sub this guy!
Great content... How did you find such high resolution video of the 90s in 2022
black magic (and the MLB uploading some old classic games)
SNP I seriously love the tone, subject choice, and editing style. And your dedication to pulling film and contextualizing stats is unparalleled. My only feedback is that in some of these videos you lose the greater narrative. I know Jon is an easy comparison but in his stories he always creates this arc, right? There are occasions where I feel your content is just recapping game footage. Take more time to do VOs and to make a heartfelt plea as to why I should care about this individual. You can be more personal than this.
Good shit brotha maybe make a greg maddux video on how op he was in the mid 90s
The question on everyone's mind is this, is there a Furniture Boy in this story? The phrase Back to Furniture Boy from your Browns video cracked me up.
nope no furniture in this one
@@justmaxproductions For sure you just never know cause it's Cleveland lol. In all seriousness though thanks for the trip down memory lane of a post season from my childhood.
I love your channel. I just think if you excluded all the hired guns (or Arms). Nagy is the only one. So its so.easy to remember Nagy.
They only wanted to develop that fine fine batting order from within.
I meant forgotten in the grand scheme of baseball, sure he wasn't the best pitcher but he was up there as one of the better pitchers in the 90s and I feel like nobody talks about him
Damn those were the days!! I wish we would've won that!! That remote control got broke into pieces!!
He never struck me out though
I love you Max
I love you too
41:53 ... too soon, man. Too soon.. 🤣🤣🤣
what are the odds right?
Moral of the story is Gary Sheffield played in the all star game for the padres
technically he was a Marlin the other time
@@justmaxproductions seeing Gary in a padre uniform changed my perspective on life
Most underrated account on the app bro you needa like promote your shit more or somethin cause you ain’t supposed to have 8 k subs
I really love your editing style and I can’t wait more baseball videos from you. When are you going to make a video about the failure of the Yankees of not making it to the World Series since 09? Because I would love that immensely
Hmm, on the one hand I would have to bring up the fact the Yankees won the World Series, but on the other hand I would get to recap the 2015, 17, 19, and 22 playoff losses at the hands of the Astros
maybe
@@justmaxproductions you should bring up the Reverse Sweep of 2004, because it’s way funnier since this years Yankee Squad used that to motivate them, to little success
Come on, that Manny / OJ / Ogea story has got to be one of those "Manny being Manny" stories that isn't real. Surely?
Chad Ogea himself says it's true
I was born in 1997 shortly before the playoffs. I fully expected to die of a heart attack shortly after the Guardians world series parade after they win.
well I made it through both Astros WS parades so I think you'll be good
Might have been Barry Bonds' best season (in which he wasn't cheating)
gasp, how dare you accuse such an honest man like Barry Bonds of cheating
Algorithm sent me here. It's like if Jon Bois' nephew started making videos.
I prefer the term "Diet Jon Bois" myself
I forgot Nagy was on the other side of That Pedro Martinez Game.
**hence the title**
Great content. Common guys let's get these sub/like numbers up!!!!!
yes do that
aw heck this isn't my burner
Albert Belle had the corked bat incident in 1994, not 1995.
eh close enough
w video
Watching this right after the Guardians beat the Rays in the 2022 Wildcard 2-0
I think this came out in like the 12th inning lol
1:53 my dad went to HS with Steve Avery lmao
Is that Wii music tuned to a minor key?
yup ruclips.net/video/XlO_3OVYkhs/видео.html
Forgotten not in Cleveland, you'd think the dude was Greg Maddux.
I don’t think that Nagy was on a level that Greg Maddux or Roger Clemons. Despite that, I respect Charles for who he was.
Awesome video. Loved those 90s Indians. Bad luck and the rise of the Yankees are the reason we never won a title.
OOTP based god
i hate the dodgers immensely so every time you put the gurriel clip in there it makes me laugh
same tbh
If by “ace” you mean perpetual 3rd starter
yeah so the ace
@@justmaxproductions IDK----I couldn't bring myself to watch 40 minutes about Charles Nagy. The 10 years of mediocre pitching (coupled with 3 good ones) was enough for me. If he was the "ace", it was because the team didn't have one. A dude with a career 4.51 ERA really isn't all that special. His win total was inflated playing on a team that mashed
@@markmelnik8680at least he was the ace of the '97 team
Hey Nash, I have a few notes. 1. that's not the all-time leader in sacrifice bunts, all the ones that are linked on Wikipedia are Deadball-era players. 2. That batflip by Thome was fucking nasty.
I don't respect the deadball era
Bruh
oh hey Steve
Those mid-late 90's Indians teams were NOT a dynasty. To earn the title of dynasty you gotta win it all, preferably more than once, but absolutely at least once. Let's not start throwing the word "dynasty" around like it's a fucking participation trophy. Given that no team has went as long as Cleveland without a World Series win now, they are actually the franchise the farthest removed from being a dynasty.
sir may I introduce you to the concept of clickbait
Le Quack
God is coming soon Repent
Forgotten cuz he no winner
Title is an outright lie. Reporting...
what was I supposed to say?
"Charles Nagy was the slightly above average 2nd or 3rd starter for a team that was kinda a little bit in contention but never actually got there and won it"
@@justmaxproductions 'tis is nothing but a jest.
