I love Ed's story behind this song and how it's the first single released for the new album. He said that when he realized Great Britain would be opening back up from their lockdowns in June and his single would be released at that time, he had already planned a different more mellow song for his first release but he decided to write something more upbeat that people could dance to for the first single because it would be more fitting for the people going out to clubs and celebrating not being in lockdown anymore. He also said the song represent the life he lived before his daughter came along, he said that it's about all the bad habits he had where when he would say to himself "i'm just going out for a pint of two" it would end up with him staying out until 3 or 4 in the morning, drinking in excess and he knew he needed to change all that before his daughter was born.
knowing Ed I'm sure he's got the acoustic version somewhere in his pocket, waiting for the perfect time to bless us all with it but anyway, I had so much fun with this new chapter in his music and I’m totally here for it🔥
